I called Best Buy customer service and the person told me both my watch and iPhone will be delivered on the 16th. Take it for what it's worth. As I am typing this I just got an email about my Apple Watch stating that there is issues with apple and my watch won't be ready until October. They provided a 50.00 coupon because of the inconvenience. UNREAL!!

I received the $50 gift card due to the watch being delayed as well. I actually have two separate $50 gift cards because I ordered two watches on separate orders. I'll take their $100, even though waiting sucks. It says that they spend like cash. Looks like I'll be getting some new bluetooth earbuds out of the deal.
 
Remember few actual buyers are on these specific forums, let alone forums at all.

Your right, However my store has over a hundred pre orders just for our location alone being one of the busiest locations in our district. I can promise you we will come no where near that number come Friday.

Dang! I shoulda done separate orders! :) had 2 watches in one order.

Do you guys know if I can wait in line for a phone and still have a pending preorder on Apple? Like could I cancel that preorder the moment I (if I did) got one at an Apple Store? We are think we might go that route after all.

Yes as long as its showing you can upgrade on your carrier account you can do that. One idea that a customer today did was he went to multiple different stores (Apple,Bestbuy,etc) and upgraded different lines on his account. That way he doesnt run into any problems with no being eligible,He told me when ever he gets his phone,He will cancel the others.
 
Debating this right now. Sucks to pay $15 extra but I think I am done with Best Buy.

I'm only seeing the stainless ones as options, the sport and aluminum all seem to be sold out. Oh well, least I didn't cancel my Apple order :) and on the bright side, at least Best Buy didn't wait until Friday morning to send out the delay email. Hope they do that with the phones, if they get delayed I'd rather know earlier.

Well, I have that pending NEXT order at Best Buy then I have a paid in full order at Apple. We own both our phones already. But Apple still asked for my number and account info. So I'm not sure how that works. We only have two lines, getting new phones for both.
 
well. again. I spoke with customer care. this time i spent an hour and a half on the phone with them. i tried to build rapport with the woman i spoke with to really try to get the truth. even she said, everything on their end showed that my particular phone should be there on launch day.
At this point.... I will try to just go with it. I'm still hesitant. but...i guess... count me in for the guinea pig for this year.

I just ordered another one from target. Paid an extra 15.00 to have it delivered on the 16th or so it says

Called Bestbuy to cancel my order for the Apple Watch. The lady told me that I should just wait for it and questioned why I couldn't wait for it. I explained I am going out of town on the 18th and didn't want to wait until I got home to look for one.

I placed an order with Target, with Express shipping ($15) for delivery on the 16th. I tried calling Target to get more information on when I should get tracking numbers, etc.

Call #1 They Hung up on me
Call #2 Person couldn't speak in sentences and mumbled. They blind transferred me back to the automated system
Call #3 Person also couldn't speak in sentences and finally told me to call back to the same number I called and hit random numbers to get another department. I actually repeated that back to them and they said yes.

Fed up, I asked for a supervisor who told me I would get it on Friday or sometime in the coming days. I said I needed more details than that and I paid for Express Shipping. I asked to speak to someone else and finally got to Guest Relations. They told me that most items don't ship until the release date and she can't comment on if the website says I am told delivery on the 16th with Express shipping because she wasn't looking at it.

Will I get this one on the 16th? Who knows. I hate for this thing to arrive on my doorstop while I am away and someone steal it...

I cant speak for Target supply,However Bestbuy is one of the largest resellers for Apple,I cant image if Bestbuy couldn't get enough units,I dont think Target would either. I do know for the iPhone launch last year,They promised everyone they would get the phones on launch,It took them over a month to get my preorder in. Luckily I found another phone elseware.

At this point, Apple should block all retailers from selling their stuff on release date just so the other companies don't make their brand look bad.

I am still upset that Best Buy changed my Silver Stainless Steel Series 2 Watch to the 28th. At the same time, they didn't offer me the $50 gift card they automatically sent others who preordered early morning on the 9th. When I called Best Buy about this and specifically mentioned it, they could care less. I was told I should just wait for the watch when they send it.

That is a good point. I may just go find a Sport Gen 1 or a SS Gen 1 at Best Buy, if possible, until I can find/get the SS Series 2 Watch. Then return the watch. I think I get 30 days on all items, at Best Buy, because I am a Rewards Zone Elite member.

I am switching back to Apple, from Android, after being away about 14 months. It was a terrible experience mostly. Samsung Phones are full of bloatware and have terrible battery life. Google Nexus Phones are better, actually get timely updates and monthly security updates, but battery life isn't any better. Plus, on AT&T, Unlocked phones are treated like Russian Hackers at the DNC Convention. You can't get Voice over LTE (HDVoice), Proper Visual Voicemail without using Google Voice, and you consistently lose LTE and have to turn it off and on.

I love Android as an Operating System and all you can do with it but hate fighting everything else. Give me that sweet iPhone Plus battery life!!! (And please get me off this terrible Android Wear OS. Their watch software is beyond terrible)

I mirror that sentiment with the watch. I tried to switch over to a garmin becaus Apple Watch wasn't very accurate and had a lot of missing features I needed. While the garmin had it, it was so buggy, constantly deleting its own data, didn't intigrate connect with Apple health, didn't save runs and rides as runs and rides. I liked he connect app but you were stuck with only that- plus, it was pretty inaccurate too. Apple stuffs got its problems, but it still works more smoothly and with less issues than the alternatives.

Does your target preorder say back ordered when you check the status? Not sure if it said that before when I ordered or not

The 128gb jet black is pretty much nonexistent, which I figured it would be. I did get some phones in today and will probably get more in tomorrow. All in all, I feel good about Friday.

If you trying to get the 128gb JB on launch day, yeah that ain't happening. Easily the most popular color and storage size this year.

For sure,We got some in as well,Still not enough for our Preorders. Im hoping we get more in tomorrow. We didnt get any JB phones either.

I didn't get even HALF that many orders (mostly because everyone wants the Plusses and we had NONE available for preorder)

Does your target preorder say back ordered when you check the status? Not sure if it said that before when I ordered or not

It is giving me an error when pulling it up. "We are experiencing a delay retrieving your order info. Please refresh this page or try again later."

I haven't seen anything about being backordered yet though...
 
FYI for those of you who got the email coupon for the watch delay: I canceled my watch order and still used the $50 certificate/promo after the fact to order 2 cases just now (plus a charger- 25% off 3 accessories). So it doesn't seem contingent on having the order stay active.
 
Just a heads up I just got my money refunded to me from Best Buy and I haven't canceled order. I preordered iPhone 7 plus JB home delivery
