Best Buy is completely useless, everyone should just cancel their orders and place a reservation to pick one up at Apple. The Best Buy rep was incredulous that I wanted to cancel my order and tried to call me out on the fact apple had stock, which they did at several stores and if I hadn't have placed my faith in Best Buy I would have got a black iPhone 7+ in matte black before noon, now it will be at 10am tomorrow so Best Buy can suck it.

I feel for a lot of you all that work there and truly try to help customers but the crew at my local store at 290 in Houston were a bunch of clueless idiots, like who in their right mind needs a badly printed 8x11 photocopy of the iPhone 7 specs as you walk in the store? There were like half a dozen mobile reps and they were just milling around behind the counter like it was an internal tea party or something. If I was in charge all of them would be fired, your CEO really needs to step up your company's game otherwise there will be no more Best Buy.
 
We canceled both our orders earlier today and it couldn't have been easier. We were on hold for I think 45 minutes, which beat yesterdays time! And we canceled both orders in the same call in under 5 minutes. I didn't believe her that it was that easy, haha! But sure enough, in under an hour AT&T was reporting the line was freed up for some other upgrade.

I will be spending our combined $200 on a new car stereo for the husband ($100 for the stereo, $50 for the installation parts) and then the last $50 on pre-ordering the enhanced Skyrim coming out next month. All stuff we had been putting off actually spending money on. Thanks Best Buy! But yeah, we had some bad experiences with them back around christmas when we were trying to buy a new TV and Magnolia kept getting their hands in it and messing the whole purchase up, then geek squad and their lack of knowledge about a TV we were waiting on. We ended up buying it at HH Gregg. Shouldn't have been surprised here... but, last nail in the coffin, spend the card, shop else where from now on. Oh, well.

One of the member here said that your card will be charge if you use the GC with preorder canceled. Im not 100% sure about it but this might save you from a lil trouble later on.

edit: well NVM looks like you already used the GC.

Yeah, no issues here. If an additional $50 charge shows up on our card out of the blue, we sure didn't authorize it! Don't they have to authorize the amount with your permission?

Here's my story...

Ordered an iPhone 7 + 128GB in Black on preorder morning. All along the date continued to say delivery would come on 9/16. There was never any movement on the order status page or anything! I received an email stating that it would be delayed until 10/7 along with the $100 gift card. No worries, I thought. That's fine!

I called yesterday because there was no change on my order status online. In fact, it said that it was still expecting to come in yesterday! They told me on the phone that the expected delivery date is now November 2. But no where did I receive an email or a notification about this change. The Rep also told me that if they didn't fulfill the order by 10/14 that they would automatically cancel it.

Anyways, with all these dates floating around and what not, I decided to cancel. I went with the 7 regular and same configuration otherwise. I ordered this literally ten minutes ago and there has been more movement on my order status than anything I saw when ordering the Plus. It's been a strange experience, but on a good note I was able to use the $100 gift card towards this new order! My 7 is due for delivery a week from Monday.

So if I went into the store and ordered the Iphone 7 plus. They didn't have it day. Yet they said that they have no clue what I am talking about when it comes to the $100 promo code. any help?

Nothing has been communicated to the stores beyond the fact that people who preordered early and got delays would be given prioritized shipping. The $100 Promo is a corporate decision, not a store by store decision. The store can't give you the $100 coupon, you have to receive the same "sorry your order has been pushed back" email that includes the $100 promo

No way in hell I preorder an iPhone from BB. More times than not the target date will be missed. Just go back to prior years and read the posts. I am not saying each and every one is missed but many more times than not especially a Plus date will be missed.

I just walk-in like yesterday at a big store. No line lol like Apple which is totally ridiculous. I walked out with an iPhone 7 32gb matte in 15 minutes. Only two other people were behind me as a walk-in when I was done.
 
So... I preordered 9/9, 2:20am CST. 7+ 128gb, AT&T, black.
Got the delayed email and the $100 GC.
Yesterday, I get my carrier agreement email and my order status changed to 'preparing to ship' - again I don't think much of it.
This morning - I get another email... SHIPPED! It'll be here Monday! It's coming from Ft. Myers, Florida (kind of odd).

I remember reading back a couple of pages, someone said the phone reps were saying not to cancel their orders. Glad I believed in that, thanks Best Buy!

There's nothing to get away with, I didn't sign anything, no agreement beyond the one where they promised the preorder at a certain time, hence the certificate. I'm saying people are misinterpreting the fine print. The certificate is yours, keep the phone preorder or not.
 
Anyone know anything about this? I received this text this morning about three hours after ordering.

Sorry, there is an issue with the mobile package for order.

just called BBY to cancel my order and decided to hear the status of the order. The anticipated ship date was Nov 17! the $100 gc apology email stated 10/7.

Took about 5 min to cancel and reverse my upgrade with AT&T.

Anyone thinking they will be getting it by 10/7 should double check their status by calling 888-Best Buy.

Consider yourself lucky. I've received nothing. No email with $100 GC. No notice regarding a delay or anticipated availability. I have an order confirmation that clearly states "available for pickup 09/16," but that's it. Logging into my Best Buy account simply shows an "in progress" message alongside my 256GB Matte Black 7 order. Called the store. No info. Emailed Best Buy support. No response. Irritating.
 
called BB 1888 no. and my order status is "being prepared" I dont know what it means at all. I guess ill wait more.

No I never did get the $100 but if I'm getting a phone today I don't care

My order status went to being prepared yesterday so hopefully it works out for you.

Was it "being prepared" at your BB order status page or via 1-888 order status check? Thanks!
 
I just called the 888 # and got the order status "Being prepared" but my BBY page status still says "processing" so which is correct? I got the $100 email yesterday with the will deliver by 10/7 on it. This is the first time I've called the 888 # so I don't know what the status might have been before. What other status is anyone getting on that number?
