I got 2 of those emails this morning for two of the lines on my account. Shows the new installment plan through Next.

I don't think AT&T completing the Next agreement has anything to do with receiving the phones. Two years ago when I added a line to my account with Next, the installment plan date began when the phone was preordered, not when it was received or activated.

I got these too, over night. I mean, I hope it means they are getting ready to arrive on Friday- it kind of stinks the ability to easily cancel disappears, and the installment starts the clock on the date, if Best Buy isn't going to deliver when they said. So that means my account and line would be held in limbo until they get around to sending and I wouldn't be able to just cancel if they don't show on Friday? The lady at att said at this point I have to wait to get them and then return them if I didn't want them now.

If one of the mobile guys wants to chime in that would be great, I think what the ATT rep said is true. You can cancel your order however it can take a few days for your ATT account to reverse and allow you to be eligible for an upgrade.

When I called this morning, she made it sound like you can't cancel period. The only option at this point (since I didn't cancel when it was still possible on Best Buy) is to wait for the phones to come in and then return them. So if it's going to take an unknown amount of time to arrive, it kind of stinks that my line is stuck in limbo. Wonder why the cancel option disappears like that.

Usually and saying this with a grain of salt when the cancel button disappears from the order its due to the item fixing to ship and you have already been assign a unit. This is what I have always been told,But like I said take it with little hope as Apple launches are always messy and God knows what goes on with the inventory systems.

What are your guy's order status. Mine is "in progress" and under my payment method says awaiting authorization.

Order Status: In Progress
But the payment was already process
no cancellation option either

Since I do the leasing option by Sprint, so my order total is $0 hopefully that's why it doesn't say payment processed, or I've missed the launch delivery.

I pre-ordered a 7 Plus 128 GB Matte Black (AT&T) from apple.com first and got a ship date of 10/4-10/10, so then I pre-ordered one from Best Buy around 12:30 AM PST on 9/9 and got the email saying "Get it by: 9/16". Hopefully the Best Buy order comes through this week and I can cancel my apple.com order before it ships. Don't want to cancel it now though because Best Buy has some sketchy history with pre-orders.
Why didn't you get the jet black

Be FORWARNED, the 14 day return period starts the day you preorder if you use att next or jump or any installment plan. So if it doesn't come for 14 days you outta luck . NO return period and you have to go to a carrier corporate store and try your luck. I know because this happened to me with the note 7, I literally almost got in a fight with the guy at Best Buy, and the worst part is it's not even up to them. Att literally won't let you return it. If it's 14 days past the preorder date

Your post makes no sense, if you aren't in a rush then just use your gift card at Best Buy, who knows you may even get it sooner than expected.
My experience with iPhone launches when I'm in no rush is that AT&T will at least call me when one is available(no need to drive around allover looking for one) and Apple always has HUGE stock so it will be easier to get one when ready. It just seems like Best Buy gets the smallest stock in general. I'm in no rush but don't want to wait forever and a day to get one at Best Buy either. I'll probably go talk to them and see what they say. Thanks!

Are you saying Best Buy in store or ship to home

What's your question? I used to be a Best Buy Mobile Manager...

Since when,it never used to be! I know this because I always got yelled at by customers because they couldn't use the upgrade again at that time. We would have to get the service pin from ETK and try and get the carrier to reverse it for us. Sometimes it worked, others it didn't.

Happened to me two weeks ago. And I went to TWO best buys. The system just says nope

I could've sworn that the 14 day return period starts after you actually get the phone and it's put on the account and it's rung up in POS. Not when you first put in the preorder. Even on installment billing. Weird. Like literally I've never heard of this. And if the preorder is canceled, the upgrade gets reversed automatically although I've had to call NSS on more than a few occasions for Sprint

No,that's how it is. But sometimes the "contract" doesn't reverse right away and takes a day or two to go through the carriers systems.

This may be relevant to some people. I spoke to the guys at Best Buy today, and they are offering the "free iPhone 7 32GB" deal for Verizon and ATT phones if you trade in a 6 or 6s.
I was unsure at first because ATT told me that BB would could not honor this deal and at first the guys at BB also agreed that they could not. But when they confirmed with their manager he showed me an internal memo from yesterday that confirmed ATT will indeed honor the offer.

But that doesn't make any sense, I mean, it could be on pre order, unable to be canceled, for twice that. Is that written somewhere in fine print? Everywhere I've read it said 14 days past receipt of delivery/pick up.

Thankfully mine still says keep existing plan and my order is pending. I have a Verizon unlimited data plan so I'm giving this phone to my brother and getting his upgrade phone to keep my UDP

I got my 4 and 4S from BB but the 4S debacle was the year they said they weren't preorders and if we didn't pick our phones up by 10AM they would sell them to walk in customers, that was it for them.
Never again. Just ordered Apple and ATT.
