If there is one thing I have learned in the 25 years I've been on this Earth, it's to not worry about things you can't change. When you go in the store, ask to price match it. If they say no, then deal with it and escalate it further if you really want to.

However, you preordered the item knowing the price was $50 more. So in the end, if you don't get a price match, you can only be mad at yourself.

Stop worrying about things you can't change yourself.

your screenshot showed a 6S not a 6S plus.

(they will come in on the truck and then AP (security) locks them up until a manager gets them. Tbh you are going to have a much better chance going to an Apple Store.

Okay then.. Is this email they say is coming when our order is in does it lag the manager assigning preorders at all? So if I don't have an email by the end of today can I assume my preorder isn't in? Or will the emails not go out until tomorrow morning?

If I were a person that just absolutely had to have a 6S plus on launch day tomorrow. Would I be better off going and standing in the Apple Store line early and then simply canceling my Best Buy order if I can get one at Apple Store?

I got an email from Best Buy today, specifically saying my pre-order is READY FOR PICK-UP on 9/24 (today, Thursday). I guess I'll head there after work!

I'm hoping to price match Apple, Verizon, and the rest of the retail world selling the phone $50 cheaper than Best Buy.

Apparently they will call you to set up an appointment for tomorrow to go pick it up...Frm everything I have read you can't just show up and pick it up

You do realize they will not give it to you today
 
I got a reply from the GM at my store and he said they do have some of their inventory and are currently awaiting the pre-orders to "drop in" to their systems. Might explain why our order status' are slow to updating for in store pick up and some have already gotten notices. Also he noted that pre-orders are based on first-come, first-serve based on when the pre-order took place.

I don't think BestBuy would deny a customer who pre-ordered for in store without an appointment. I payed for my phone and I should be able to walk in at any point tomorrow.

I haven't received anything yet. I know some people have, but you'll need to wait till tomorrow to pick it up anyway because they won't sell you one today.
 
Still no change on "preparing to ship".
If it doesn't ship out soon, I won't get mine delivered tomorrow.
I pre-ordered on the 13th.

If they overnight them, it could ship out late tonight and still be there tomorrow.

If you get the email that your phone is ready that means the store has your phone and has been checked in with our OMS system. The email is automatically generated so yes it will say you can pick it up today but in reality it wont be till tomorrow. You should also get a phone call asking if you want to set up an appt.

If you have still not gotten your email letting you know the phone is ready for pick up,dont worry just yet as some stores still have trucks that come in tonight.

Yeah they just called me and said I can come in tomorrow between 8:00-10:00 AM if I want. I mentioned the email saying today 9/24, and he said that just means it's in stock, but they can't release it until tomorrow.
 
So I was looking through my paperwork, and noticed a gold foil gift card stapled to it. I pre-ordered in store on September 19. It appears I somehow received a $50 gift card. On the receipt it says "BBYM $50 pre sale reservation G 50.00 free gift card." What I am confused about is if this is simply a free gift for reserving a phone or if this $50 "free gift card" contains the $50 deposit money I paid.
 
Just got word from the GM at my Best Buy and it appears that they will not get my phone in tonight through their normal channels, but it might be coming from a direct shipment from Apple which would arrive tomorrow. Then he goes on about no phones will arrive more than 7 days after the release date. Helpful guy, just not the answer I was looking for and it shows their system of taking pre-orders are very flawed.
