Literally...minutes after I emailed the GM I get this email. I don't think they have anything to with each other, however, I am stoked!

I preordered on the 20th, canceling my AT&T order.

Funny thing is, my BestBuy.com order status still shows just "Preorder".[/QUOTE

Great! Now if only I can receive mine.

How does your email say ready 9/24? Doesn't release till 25th.
Yep, it's an error. I called to double check to make sure my order was in, and they said as long as I have received the email I did, my item was picked and ready for pickup tomorrow. They have no idea why the system is saying today, but it's an error as I'm sure everyone knows.

My BB pre-order says READY FOR PICKUP. Going to call to ask, but I believe I know the answer =]

Does anyone know the difference between BB stores and BB MOBILE stores? At checkout I had the choice of two 'stores' closes to me.. One was the store "I" know of and do business with - and one was a MOBILE store just about 1 mile away.. I'm beginning to wonder if I should have sent my preorder to the 'mobile' store? What are they? Like those 'cart' setups in Malls or something?

I just called my store and they told me they have the iPhones and are processing them now. He told me I couldn't just come in at 8am cause other people preordered also and that I had to wait for them to call me. I don't even think I put a telephone number down for them to even call me cause I'm bought the phone outright. Best Buy rep told me I won't see any change on my status till they physical scan my device at Best Buy.

I got my email for store pickup stating my phone will be available for pickup tomorrow. I didn't see anything online for my store being open earlier then 10am

My local mobile store today told me 10am as well cause they are going to do reservations for pickups so no mad rush. Most walk ins probably will get turned away, it ain't like they are an Apple Store with lots available for walk in purchases.

When I called the store there automative message said they will be opening at 8am for preorders and first come first serve bases customers.

The email notification for pickup you get should tell you which location. Mobile stores within malls are small and handle basically cellphones, cases, and some other accessories as well as some tablets like iPads. Not much more.

I just called my local bestbuy. Same thing automated system says 8am but also went to say if you preordered wait for them to contact you. I assume this is just to get your pickup notice like many of us have already.

On another note are we asking them to credit us the $50 when we pick up? Price matching apple. I know bestbuy has historically had higher full prices on phones but in todays era of financed devices I'd think they would be the same full retail as everywhere else. I had bestbuy rewardzone points and a gift card thats the only reason I preordered with them

Folks, we all know that one can get $50 off and get the price matched, but you can't get the exact price if you have to pay tax, right? Talking about fully paid iphones here. And more or less, one ends up paying $5-10 more than any other places as the tax amount will be still based on the $50 premium price.

I've been told that the price match is pre-tax and can't get the refund on tax amount. Anybody has done this who can confirm or correct this?

No...

When they adjust the POS, it is adjusted before tax and the tax total will reflect the price of the item.

You answered your own question with your own words. If the price change is PRETAX, it is before tax is calculated. If it is POST TAX, then the item will reflect the tax based on the full item value.

If a company like Best Buy was adjusting sales post tax, they wouldn't be in business anymore. Laws.

geez

Yup still essentially the same price as apple

Well the GM emailed me and told me he forwarded it to the mobile manager and should expect a response soon.

Well I just stopped into my local Best Buy, the store where I intend to pickup tomorrow... Did my pre-order on 9/21 for 64GB, SGY, 6S Plus - ATT - new line/NEXT. The employees of course were tight lipped. They weren't even willing to check an SKU number to see if the stock they received was allocated to my pre-order. They just kept saying 'we don't know anything about our stock yet'. They're lying -- of course.

The one bit of even remotely hopeful news was that they affirmed that 'pre-orders' get in-store stock allocation BEFORE walk-in customers. I decided to 'jump ship' from ATT to BB pretty late in the game - but their online order system said AVAILABLE FOR IN STORE PICKUP 9/25. And other phones like Rose Gold did NOT have that wording on BB site... So I thought it was a sure bet.. But I'm discovering it was all just a rouse to get business... they are NOT guaranteeing ANY 6S+ for in store pickup tomorrow.. They are only guaranteeing that when one BECOMES AVAILABLE it will be at the store... What a frickin' crock! False advertising..

I'll still report there in the am and see what they have.. But I'm not holding out hope for my phone being there.. And of course I'd want ANY of you that ordered on Opening night to get your phone before me. That's only fair.

That's a shame. Probably should have stuck with At&t

The BB price matching policy is pretty ridiculous. They match certain online sites (not apple.com) and I was told they won't match the Apple store because its a manufacturer and not a reseller. You can correct me if I am wrong on this but I am going off what the guy I spoke on the phone with told me.

They match local (25 mile radius) stores like Target, Walmart and depending on the store they may be picky about if the product is in stock at the competitors. I am not sure if they will price match a ATT store or Verizon store. Hopefully someone can fill me in on all this.

MacMall.com
Amazon.com
NewEgg.com
TigerDirect.com
ATT.com

I have all price matched those websites when I worked at Best Buy.

They have always matched other carriers for me. I simply show them the unactivated price and they have always matched it. Less of a problem with carriers since those are within a couple mile range. So you don't have to rely on the Apple price or mile range to an Apple store.

Ok. YMMV. The employees I have talked to seem to be real sticklers.
This is from their website
Amazon.com, Bhphotovideo.com, Crutchfield.com, Dell.com, HP.com, Newegg.com, and TigerDirect.com.

Oh… I'm not an idiot. My AT&T order is still arriving tomorrow. But that's for a 6S I didn't realize I'd like to try 6S plus until later in the game. It's the 6S plus that's "tied up" at BB.
