I'll post some pics of the back of my iPad in a bit. I think it came out ok. A little hazy in some areas but I am hoping that goes away soon.

Installed the second skin, same exact issue. Splotchy adhesive spots.

I have no bubbles, but the adhesive never fully clears. I'm having an ongoing discussion with their support. I've never had this issue with any of their other protectors, and installed plenty in my life.

The skins I received from BSE had some type of manufacturing defect that left a line on the screen and back skin. It was not folded but looked like I got one that was on some type of faint seem in the material. The back is barely noticeable as it is just a faint grey line and slight indentation which can be seen when light reflects off the skin. The front was clearly visible so I removed it. Anyway, I wrote them and they replied within a day and sent out a new skin free of charge. Great customer service, in fact the best I have experienced with apple accessories. Order with confidence.

I actually love the skin and how well it works with the smart cover. The tactile feel it gives while holding the ipad in one hand is wonderful. Before the skin I was leaving the smart cover on and folding it back during use for some grip on the device. With the skin on I remove the smart cover while in use and the Ipad becomes even more of a pleasure to use.

That being said I already ordered a static cling screen protector because the BSE screen protector is just not for me. Too hard to install and I am too impatient to wait a week for it to look good. I knew this when I bought it, but for a few dollars extra I figured I would give it a try. The feel of the screen protector was better than I expected though.

Does the screen protector feel like the glass or does it feel tacky? I'm debating putting mine on.

You know when you were a kid and you peeled off these decals from a backing that weren't sticky underneath, but they would still stick to a window or mirror? Feels like those.

48 Hours later..still have micro bubbles and some streaking. Going to wait a few days and see what happens, otherwise I'll just take it off and bite the bullet and get a Zagg installed at a Mall Kiosk.

Anyone have experience on how long those microbubbles take to clear?

After doing it for the second time, it went better then the first time, but there is still some streaking and a few bubbles. Not sure if they will clear up or not as it has already been three days. Will give it a few more days, and if it does not get any better, I will likely just take it off and go with a power support.

It doesnt feel like glass but it's not tacky. It's similar to the back. If I were to install it again I would do it without any water. I switched the front protector to the splash protectors and I'm liking them slot more.

Here is BSE on mine: :D

I also installed BSE for the back and I had Bodyguardz for the screen. While I managed to install the Bodyguardz bubble-free, I can't stand the fingerprints and streaks. It is driving me nuts since I have to wipe it every now and then. I pre-ordered Power Support HD Antiglare for the screen. BSE looks great and the fit/coverage is by far the best for the iPad2. So I think BSE for the back and Power Support HD Antiglare for the screen would be the best combo :)

@jacoder , great job on the install - looks flawless on the corners.

Any tips / advice you could give others on how you were able to install it so well?

are you sure it's possible to install without water? I think their material requires water to activate the adhesive. Sure, it's still sticky without the water but not significantly, if you feel it.

Yeah it will stick no problem. the water is supposed to make it easier but I don't think that's the case.

I see why you said you would install it with no water now.
Not sure I understand. My point with the water is that is takes too long to evaporate and has failed to evaporate for some. I found the adhesive sticks without water and if you line the skin up correctly you should be able to stick it on without using water.

Man I'm having a hard time debating on what to install. Pick up a BSE back and the smart cover front or wait for the speckskin HD Wrap where it covers everything. ARGH lol Can't have it all haha.

Well 96 hours later and still micro bubbles. I even took the hairdryer to it just hoping it would help to dissipate the micro bubbles, but no luck. It's perfect except for that. I'll keep it on for now until I can get to a Zagg kiosk to have someone install. Bummer.

@TwinCitiesJHawk: Thx.

This is what I did: don't fold down the corner immediately.
Align, remove bubbles on other area 1st.
After those got corrected and wait for corners to dry a bit (around 15 mins),
then fold those corners down, if those corners need to be moved a bit, apply
a little soap water on them for movement.

White Splotches

Can some of you that have had the skin on for a few days/weeks comment on the disappearance of the white splotches on the front screen. I am having the same problem and wondering how long to give it before I remove the protector. Thanks

I just wanted to comment on my experience with BSE. When the iPhone 3G came out I decided to forego cases in exchange for scratch protection that wouldn't add any bulk to the phone. I began researching protective films and decided on a Zagg Invisible Shield. Big mistake... it was thick, tacky, and had a terrible orange peel appearance/texture. I took it off and got a Bodyguardz instead. I've used Bodyguardz for every portable device I've owned since then (iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPad, iPhone 4, Samsung Captivate) and have been very happy with the results.

I was planning on getting a Bodyguardz for my iPad 2, until I saw the one my mom ordered. I didn't like the look or coverage of the corners. When I saw people's pictures of their installed BSE on here, I decided to try it out... Holy crap the fit is perfect! I am super impressed with the design of this film. The way the corners were engineered is genius. I hope they never change their design. As for the front protector, I too ended up with some air bubbles, and smudgy spots. I read on the website though that the films are gas permeable, meaning that gas can escape through the film. If this is true, as the water in the bubbles evaporates, the bubbles should disappear. After less than 20 hours, I've seen definite improvement, so hopefully it will continue to clear up. As for the corners of the back film, to get them to lay down qucker, I used a hair dryer to dryout/warm up the corners. They look perfect now.

As long as BSE keeps making their products like this, I will keep using them. Just my 2 cents :)

*Edit: I'm only planning on using the front screen protector until Power Support starts selling their Anti-Glare HD film for the iPad 2.
