I bought two chargers from IKEA (Rällen), that can be build into furniture. They only cost 12,99€ in Germany and have a Wall adapter included. Very happy with those

Im actually looking into installing one to my nightstand too. I’ve heard reports of noise coming from the wall adapter when no phone is on the the charging pad. Do you year anything?

So Apple Watch series 2.. any of these options also work for the watch? I have an iPhone X and said watch. Would be nice to be able to use both on the same charger.

Use the Choetech. Just set it and forget it! Plus, I figure it’ll work great as an upright stand whenever I get an X, or X II.

I love the idea of having built-in options and Ikea usually has fairly good quality in general, but to be honest, they're not pretty..... that x could be a little less prominent, especially as built-in, for my taste.

I have the ones you build into furniture. $11.99, works as well as the rest of them. If you don't want to mess with your furniture, they have other options. Best deal for wireless chargers...should be added to this review, especially since it's different in the sense that it can be a part of your furniture.

I got this one as well, works great as a table top charger, but I plan to cut a hole in my nightstand and mount it properly.

I think about the future. Wireless charging is slow today. I agree that speed ain’t that important if you charge at night. If I charge at my desk I’d like to charge as fast as possible. Wheneve you use your phone the charge stops - unlike charging with a cable. If you use it much at work you’ll experience that charging with 5 W it could be somewhat slow. Especially if you didnt charge overnight.

Do we know if a 15 W charger will be supported by upcoming iPhones? Would buying one from Mophie or Ravpower be our best bet?

I hate that the players in the game havent agreed on a real standard. Different chargers use different power supply. Some propertiary chargers. Some USB-C. Some micro USB at 9 V. Some use 5 V @ 2 amps. It is confusing. I’d like then to figure this out, and I want Apple to open everything up. I don’t like they requiring a licensing scheme or scam on everything they can.

I want a 15 W future proof charger which can charge my AW3 and X at the same time. Think I’ll buy a cheap charger and wait for AirPower. And the price? $149? Lol :)

Think of it as a "+" ;)

Or for Series 3. It would be great to have an article that specifies which wireless chargers consistently charge Apple Watches.

On the topic of wireless charging, one of the convenience features of wireless charging is the ability to easily pick-up and put-down the device to stop and start the charging process (as compared to wired charging where I can use it while it is connected to the cable). If I continously do this while texting back and forth, picking-up and putting-down after each written and/or read message, how “good” is that for the battery? Am I reducing its health and thus guaranteeing that I will need to replace my battery quicker?

So does the RAVPower charge at 7.5w or not? Has anybody found a DIY option to get the Mophie charger vertical like the RAVPower’s upcoming stand that mounts the puck so you can place your phone vertically.

The RavPower doesn’t, someone in the forums and iDB Australia did testing and concluded that the RavPower charges at 5 watts. Their Amazon page is essentially false advertising.

Well if you pay attention to the number of fake reviews on RavPower products on Amazon (Anker products too) you'd likely read all the specs with skepticism.

You can add the Omnicharge 20 to the 7.5w list. Charging with the Apple leather case and the Mous Carbon Fiber case worked just fine with my iPhone X.

I felt similarly to you before getting my X and Mophie Qi charger. But now that I've got a week of use under my belt with the wireless charger, I want to ditch all my corded chargers - as does my wife, even though she's still on a 7. There is something really liberating when you can just set your phone down and have it charge. I've currently got the charger next to my bed, where it's probably less important to be cordless (what's it matter while you sleep), but when I wake up at 3am to read emails (coming in from Europe), it's nice to just grab the phone, read the messages then set it back down, with no cords to tug or get tangled up in.

Now I want a desk-top Qi charger (stand, so I can easily check notifications) for my work desk, to eliminate having to plug and unplug every time I need to leave my desk. I've already got a custom acrylic stand I designed that holds both my iPad and iPhone side by side, so I may just buy a Qi coil and modify the stand to become a wireless charger.
Guess it will be even more liberating when Apple introduces ranged wireless charging in a year or two which won’t require a charging pad, just a transmitter plugged into one of your outlets.

I have the Samsung convertible one. Very nice and premium feel and it looks good on the desk.

Hopefully with Apple now in the Qi market, we'll start to see more better looking (and functioning) chargers hitting the market. I'm currently using the Mophie charger, which seems to work fine, but I'd like to see something even less intrusive design-wise - especially for the stand-version for desk use at work.

Im having issues with the Mophie. Do you like it? My phone (X) has to be in the correct spot to charge. and it will charge but then it stops charging and i didn't even move the phone! Mophie is already sending me a new one but do i dare say i should look for a android Qi charger..? ( vomits a little and pours dawn dish in my mouth...)

Apple checking the "me too" box for wireless charging and fast charging. Proof? They don't even have their own wireless charging dock, and fast charging brick is optional. Sloppy and just not what you expect from a company selling a premium experience.
