I would love it too, windwaker was and is one of my favorite zelda games and I much prefered it over twilight princess which unlike most Elda games actually left me cold.

However sales of original windwaker were far from stellar for a big ip. Sadly we who loved its look, character and gameplay are in the minority and I cant see nintendo following it up with a sequel at all.

I'm still enjoying Z:TP, but it really is cold compared to WW. It's frustrating that so many of my friends wouldn't buy WW, because of its style.

Nope, im deadly serious.

Hardline plan to kill n00b gamers, and return gaming to the hardcore level.

Also, im not a diehard Sega fan, but i am old school, Grew up on the megadrive, with the cool sonic.

And, if Sega released a new console, about 50% of the market would buy it, its just SEGA cant afford the R&D

Sony & Sega are the best Companies at the moment, who make/used to make consoles

Surely you jest...

Lol, you think im a troll...

Its just what i want, and a few other i know, want to happen.

Yes the killing Mario part was a joke, but killing the DS and Wii arent.

Nintendo need to go back to there roots, or at very least, release a real controller for the Wii

Gets funnier :D

A few people want the Wii and DS to die, compared to how many who don't!
There's the Classic Controller!

We do think you're a troll :)

When the DS and Wii are outselling everything else - what on earth makes you think that from a business standpoint 'ditching them' would make any kind of sense what so ever ?

If you are not a troll, then you are indeed utterly misguided.

what was the announcement, exactly? I completely missed it. I'm having a hard time believing it was ditching the wii and ds....

There has been no announcement yet. And going by the raving popularity of both the Wii and DS I don't think they're going to be ditching them :D

ok. I didn't see that there were more pages before this, so I was kinda clueless as to what's going on lol.
On a side note, I think they need to work on the wii games. I have purchased quite a few wii games so far, brawl, mario kart, olympics, big brain academy, wing island and a few others I think. But only mario kart, wii sports, and big brain academy are ones I think were worth the money. The people making the games seem afraid to take advantage of what the wii can do motion-wise. Brawl only uses motion to do a super-smash thing, and that's the game I was most excited for!

i want a bacon cooking game..where you can bake bacon and a new usb adaptor released bacon into the air (scent)

also multiplayer bacon cooking...and online

that would be good

So has the tread switched from the army-of-one "Nintendo should throw away millions of dollars just to support my random old skool gamer beliefs" trolling?

Now it's pro-bacon trolling? THAT would be a big announcement indeed. Mario replaced with a strip of bacon.

You can't beat meat!

Lord I love these forums

And some proper news now.

New Wario Land game (HOT DOG!) for Wii and a remake of Kirby Super Star for DS! It's the last great Kirby game I've yet to play and since it's not on the VC and has new stuff; w00t! Just hope they make a Canvas Curse sequel at some point. Wario Land was probably one of my top 5 GB games too and the GBA version was pretty great. Hope the new one can match them.

E3 is next month :) I'll be there and will be posting about it immediately, lol.

Brawl doesn't use motion, and it was a darn good game. If you thought it wasn't worth the money, I'd like to hear your criteria for that, since I've got probably over a hundred hours in so far.

Also, try out Super Mario Galaxy :)

You can turn on the "shake to smash" option and shake the Wiimote to do smash attacks, it's even directional (twitch up to smash up) albeit a bit imprecise.

My speculation:

They bought Nibris and are teaming up with 3DRealms to get Sadness to the Wii....sometime in 2047

First off, I didn't even realize about the shake to smash option. That's neat. I won't use it, but it's neat.

As for your speculation . . . .
First I laughed.
Then I sighed.
Then I googled old images/videos of Sadness, and was Sad.

Re: Nintendo making a 'normal' controller for the Wii... so long as they keep support for the GameCube controller, there's no need as that's the most comfortable controller of any vintage for me.

One possible thing they could announce is the wii 1.5

Featuring 4/8gb storage as opposed to 512mb, support for SDHC cards and DVD channel to support DVD playback finally.

The DVD is only going on the comments by Nintendo exec a long time ago, however the first couple of things seem like pretty safe bets as Nintendo have a history of releasing small revised versions of hardware - which enables them to maintain retail price without need to offer price cuts.

If they do revise the wii the one thing I pray for is a machine that is 'region free' and able to playback games from all regions. For me this is the biggest downside of the Wii.

That's useless though. Brawl's way too precision oriented to work with motion controls without being completely overhauled into a different game.
