That's useless though. Brawl's way too precision oriented to work with motion controls without being completely overhauled into a different game.

I never said anyone with any skill at the game would use it, luckily I don't have any skill so it's perfect for me :D.

I found it sort of useful with Marth in the Homerun contest, I managed to get a flick rythm going to get 4-5 right smashes, one up smash and then clobber the bag for a decent hit. Other than that it's only of moderate use for my button mashing game.

If we don't get a new Zelda - and I still am very hopeful that there will be one announced - at the very least please give us Majora's Mask via Virtual Console.

Nintendo Holds off on Wii DVD
Company says meeting Wii supply is the priority.
by John Tanaka
June 28, 2008 - Nintendo's planned DVD-ready Wii system appears to be on hold at the moment. The morning edition of the Nihon Keizai Shimbun reports today that at a stock holder meeting on the 27th, company president Satoru Iwata said of the device, "With supply constraints [of the Wii] continuing worldwide, the priority is on the current model."

This updated Wii system has been mentioned by Nintendo before only in vague terms. The firm originally suggested a release date of some time last year.

Nikkei also reports that at the same stock holder meeting, Nintendo revealed plans for a retail release of the DS's 1seg tuner peripheral this July. The device, which allows Japanese DS users to view digital television broadcasts, is currently being sold exclusively online.

So they are holding off 'NOW' but come E3 they are bound to announce it. It's quite obvious it exists and its only a matter of time.

I always thought it was a software/license problem? Meh, roll on region free DVD player homebrew.

I don't think that quote sounds like the DVD Wii is going to be announced at E3, it sounds like they're explaining why it *won't* be.

jimmi - if they came out with that I would definitely get the homebrew. btw, what is your signature from?

Wii HD, now with more 1080p and mature games! Sorry, I can dream, can't I?

IMHO Nintendo will not release a new model Wii until the current model can be found on shelves readily. Then the new model will reinvigorate sales.

It's a new game. Inside the box there will be two extra long wrist straps. ~15 foot long wrist straps. There will be a note saying "you are Kratos" and the game will be called God of Wii.

This is why I shouldn't post right after waking up.

I actually agree completely with you. I think xmas would be a great time to reveal a new model in this regard. Mean's they wont offer any price cut, and it would mean two years since a lot of us picked up ours, and we may be tempted again (like we were with the GBA,GBA SP, DS, DS Lite etc...)

Nintento will release DoubleSpace for the Wii. :D

If you weren't around during the DOS days of PCs, the above comment won't make any sense. :(

I hope Nintendo announces something like a strawberry award for the worst Wii developers. I'm looking at you UbiZoftzzz!

Good heavens man! I grew up on DOS and I never knew about doublespace! PKZip was my friend.

I miss DOS. That's when us folk were appreciated. Now anyone can do anything ever :(

DOS was the last GOOD OS MS produced. Of course they didn't write the base code, so that's probably why.

I worked for a store called Computer City. We sold Double Space and other compression packages, so that's why I recalled it. I never used them, because they were SLOW.

Is that a dude smiling with a hat on or frowning with a goatee and furrowed brow?

Anywho, DOS memories ftw. PKZip was where it was at. And it doesn't hurt that I'm currently on this DOS games kick... Karateka, Art of War... :D

Karateka! I use to love that game so much, but no one I mention it to has even heard of it.

Ah, I feel so much better now.

Captain Rainbow?

There's a rumor that this newly announced Nintendo game is the big E3 announcement...

Quicktime trailer here.

(Just to be clear, the video seems legit - or legitimately bad, but I doubt this is the big announcement...)
