To me the regular black looks more like dull dark grey. Could never consider such a boring colour.
looks pretty dark black to me. The other videos or pictures that are shooting with the flash on don't do this color justice it seems.

Can't stand Matt finishes on items as they tend to look horribly dull. But the jet black does look somewhat shinier than I would like. Time to consider black again after years of white iPhones especially now they've got rid of space grey.

Basically...if u choose jet black it will be scratched to s#/+ in a week. I was 100% gonna preorder and now I'm not so sure. Might go just black.

if apple is putting a disclaimer about jet black scratching, it's gonna scratch. And it's gonna be those little annoying wind scratches. And a lot of them. No thanks.
Putting it in a case solves this

It's why I'm going for jet black

You want an in between of matte and shiny? satin?

I'm not impressed that Apple have reserved the jet black for certain storage capacities only !

What's with that !

More revenue for people wanting the new colour. :(

Well I guess you have seen my post up front then.

I'll summon it up for you again.

According kgl reports: they said due to low yield ( very low amount of good iPhones in a batch of Housting) they will be prioritized to the higher storage tiers! I meant come on let's be realistic who don't like more money? Since an housing they put high storage in

You would probably going to see jet black in 32gb that's gonna be heck of an long time from today lad.

Can't decide neither between Jet Black - Matte nor between 7 - 7+
I'm leaning towards the 7. I had the plus two years ago and it was a little too bulky and brick like when I put it in my pockets. I loved the size but overall comfort of carry it didn't work for me.

Wonder how the traffic will be online

Traffic do get bad lol. You'll see post with mins mins order being separated and shipping differently like yea I got mine at 2.01 and its shipping today, oh man I got mine at 2.03 when does that ship :p. Just don't waste unnecessary secs , buy Whatca want and get the heck outta there and then if you look around but always buy what you really want first.

But it's so nice and backer

It's like buying an brand new car dude. That nice shinny polish. You want that feeling? Then you'll have clean your phone always daily or maybe hourly just to keep it shiny at all times and you'll see marking pretty quick on them

Apple just put that disclaimer in there to avoid 'scratch-gate'. Kind of dissapointed, I was looking forward to another 'gate'.

Anyways I'll pre-order the jet black and pick up from the store. Check both out there and switch if I want to.

Thinking I might do the same thing. I just can't help but think that the jet black is going to be 3GS like horrible. Lol

It's simple - the intrepid with order the jet black. The standard black though, will hold up better, in the long run.

If you're gonna put it in a case, then take your pick.

The jet black looks very similar to the iPhone 3G, in that it reminds me of shiny plastic which Apple moved away from years ago. The matte black looks much more elegant and you can actually tell it's made of metal. Plus, if it's anything like previous glossy black phones, even with a case it's going to be covered in hairline scratches from dust that gets between the case and phone.

blacky black for me. already annoyed by the fingerprints on the back of my S7.

The fact that there's a disclaimer to buy a case for the jet black in the Apple Store regarding scratches makes my decision quite easy

very true. can't remember apple ever mentioning something like this before.

You'll get swirl marks on the Jet Black, similar to how you do on a car. Most things get them to be honest, I imagine all the matte colours do it's just masked by the finish.

I guess the real question is how easy it is to get a proper scratch on, one that goes to bare silver metal. In theory this is the same as the matte options too, so it should be pretty hard.

Either way I'm swinging for Matte, it just looks classier. If they'd done gloss white I'd have been very tempted.

I work as an auto detailer and I wonder if I can put a ceramic coating on it like I can with cars. It attaches itself to the factory clear coat to improve shine and durability.
