Lol.... You read my mind. I think that's what I'm going to do. I love them both equally.
The articles I've read say it is a complete fingerprint magnet, will scratch and have marks easily, looks like cheap plastic, is so shiny it attracts attention when often you want to use your phone somewhat inconspicuously, and if you put it in a clear case, it won't quite look the same through the plastic. I love the idea of a Piano Black iPhone, but it is not DLC like the Space Black Apple Watch and will get TORN UP! Even though it is metal it will likely look like plastic. And the fingerprints will be bad. The videos online from the event really show how nice the Black is and how smudgy and printed the Jet Black will get. I love the idea of the Jet Black but don't think it will wear well at all. I think there will be a lot of disappointment, returns or people casing it to protect it.

Been struggling all day with this. Decided to go jet black for these reasons:
1. The antenna lines, although moved to the edges are far less noticeable on the jet.
2. Maybe it's just the pictures but the matte black sort of reminds me of the Apple charcoal silicone case.
3. Something really new. Since the iPhone 7 really doesn't look different then the 6 or 6s, the jet black brings a fresh new feeling.

I've been going back and forth as well..and reading these post from Page 1. But I think this quote makes the most sense for me and seals the deal. I'll wait out the Jet Black (maybe next year) and get the Matte this year.

I'm decided on the jet black, it won't be a problem when it's put in a clear case, also how often do we really look at the back of our own phones anyway, so the odd scratch isn't going to hurt. I had a 3GS and it hardly had any scratches on it, I look after my devices.
Jet black is so fresh, matte is just dull and shows fingerprints too.
I think the jet black looks too much like plastic for my liking. I'll still not 100% certain, but I'm leaning heavily towards regular black.
They will both attract fingerprints, they will just be more visible on the jet black, but in my opinion the jet black looks better.
Jet Black all the way for me will live on the edge this time without a case and enjoy it's beauty every which way...we've got something special in store for you ha.

Thing is, I went the complete opposite way of thinking. I didn't mind the smudge/scratches, and was going to get the jet black, but it seems fairly certain were going to see all glossy iPhones (glass) next year. Why not go stealth matte while we still have the chance?
