I've gone for the Jet Black. Im not too worried about scratches it will live in a case anyway! To those who say why get it if it's going in a case, I will know its the jet black ;)

Got one of each, one on Next, the other full price. I plan on returning the one like Love least. Have a feeling I'll go Matte Black.

Did this a few years ago with Space Grey and Gold.

Finally decided on the Jet Black. I'll enjoy using it without a case first, but if worse comes to worst, I can always get a 0.35mm case from Peel, then it'll look almost like a matte black :p

I'm kind of torn so I pre-ordered both and am ready to cancel one when I make my decision. My heart says Jet, my mind says Matte. I think if I stay with Matte I will regret it. But then again resale value on a (maybe) scratched phone might be awful. What a 1st world problem, I know.

Honestly, go with Jet Black. you don't want to settle for a boring color because you're worried about scratches. Get the phone that you want. And we all know we want the jet black.

I went with jet black on Apples upgrade every year plan so I don't care about resale value and if it scratches too bad i only have to live with it for a year.

I did the same. I will make the choice and sell the other.

The Jet Black will be extremely slippery if theres a tiny bit of water. But will have a grip when it's dry. The more rough aluminum is actually more slippery when wet. Basically, turn your current phone over in your hand and hold it screen down. That'll be kind of what it's like.

I got the regular black because I'd imagine after a few months the Jet Black wouldn't be lookin' so hot. If you saw MKBHD's video @ the Apple event, he said the Jet Black test phones had already accumulated micro scratches on the gloss finish.

It also looks like an iPhone 3GS.

Everyone worrying about how it will look. (Kinda reflecting our society)
If he thinks that it looks like a 3GS, he obviously has no clue about materials.
The jetblack iPhone 7 has an anodized aluminium back. This will, in no way, look or feel like a plastic 3GS back. How it feels in my opinion, is much more important, than how the back of the device looks (what you actually never see when you hold it in your hand).
Because of that polished and anodized surface or the device, it will provide much more grip and actually feel like a high-quality product.

How do you know this? Hands on say it feels the same as others.

I pre-ordered Jet black, I always loved the glossy black on the 3G and 3GS. The main reason I went with it was that it looks like the back and the front glass will match, making it look like one single piece. Sounds sleek to me. But I was also a fan of the Slate iPhone 5...I will have to see them both in person if I decide to switch from Jet black to black. I won't let micro-scratches or smudges bother me really.

Yep, I just like the black bezel, the phone color really doesn't matter but with that being said.... I am getting the Matte Black.. Love it!! :D

I almost ordered jet black. Mainly because I think it will be more grippy without a case. My ip6 in space gray with the matte color gets so slick when my hands get dry in the winter months. I think the shiny surface would help that issue. But I decided I wanted to change from a black face to white and went with gold. Plus jet was already to oct 18 ship when u was ordering.

I don't actually like the glossy color of the jet black so went with the black matte. The later on absolutely looks gorgeous and very stylish.

Went with the matte black. The glossy finish on the jet black almost seems "plasticy" to me. Well that and the fact that Apple basically confirmed the jet black WILL scratch. My phone will be in a case anyway (Speck Presidio).

I was going for the jet black until I started seeing videos and that also is what I thinking, reminded me of the 5C in a way. So I went with the matte.

Do you guys know that even with a case dust particles can get behind it and still scratch it? A case doesn't solve all your problems. Might do more harm since dust can get behind and get caught up in the case and cause more harm than good.

It depends on the case, I use a silicone case from Apple on my current 6 Plus and it's very good, hasn't scratched or marked my phone at all.
