Do you guys know that even with a case dust particles can get behind it and still scratch it? A case doesn't solve all your problems. Might do more harm since dust can get behind and get caught up in the case and cause more harm than good.

Totally agree...some are in for a rude awakening when its starts to show wear. Swirl marks are hideous to look at and there is no hiding them with that kind of finish. Anytime Apple has a disclaimer about products susceptible to getting marked up easy is a red flag in my book. Probably because in all the years I bought Apple products this is the first I have seen it. I think they put that out there so when people go running trying to get replacements (outside the return window) for that same reason they can just turn around and deny the replacement and say well we warned you. Just my opinion.

It depends on the case, I use a silicone case from Apple on my current 6 Plus and it's very good, hasn't scratched or marked my phone at all.

Yeah but we aren't talking about a matter surface. I'm talking about shiny like the JB.

Exactly. People are just saying I'm hating on the JB but as soon as that color was rumored I was like nope. Matte black it was for me. I'll just sit and be patient and all the threads talking about it getting scratched up. EVERY SINGLE device I have ever owned with a surface like this developed scratches and you never knew where they came from. I hope people enjoy their phones of course but don't be blind to the obvious.

I went with the matte black, because I'm going to have an Apple leather case on the phone anyway. I'm sufficiently tough on my phone that I always have a case and screen protector, so no point in going with the jet black if I can't see it.

I agree completely. I would hate to have this happen to me. I remember with the 5 I originally got a black one but 10 days later I went back and returned it and then got a white one. I had gotten very noticeable marks on it and they looked horrid. Won't make that mistake again.

You may be right, but the way I look at it is, you may as well get the colour you want, what's the point getting something else just because you fear the one you want will scratch, you only live once!

How can you not want this?

It reminds me of iPhone 4 black glass in a way. Looks pretty similar to me. Doesn't look plastics but more so glass

Coz it looks like plastic compared to this:

;)
What a horrible video. Not sure why people can't figure out how to have a filmer or a head mounted camera for reviews.
This is the zoom. Puts down phone presses 2x picks it up haha. Wow

Is it really hard for people to imagine? No the jet black isn't going to feel/look like plastic. It's going to feel similar to the finish of the Mac Pro, which is a mirror.

Run your finger across a mirror. Feel that grip? That's going to be the jet black iPhone's finish. IMO, it's going to be a stunner. Personally I went with Black because Jet Black's pristine finish will scratch.

Ordered Black, but if I could get the jet black for launch then I totally would.
Jet Black looks absolutely gorgeous.

im not sure why anyone would add a clear case to the Jet Black, dirt and dust ALWAYS gets in to those cases and will probably cause more blemishes at the edges of the case and around the camera cutout. If you are afraid of it scratching, the apple cases are your best bet as they don't let much dust in and are soft lined.

Exactly. Any case that is not *really* tight fit will actually make the phone look worse. Dust and debris will get trapped inside. But then buying an Apple case will cover that gorgeous shiny back. Not to mention that you're not completely safe with the Apple case. As you remove and put on the case, it might scratch the curved edge of the phone. Not sure what's the point of buying a jet black if you can't never experience it.

You basically can't wear a ring if you have a Jet Black phone. Any kind of metal to metal contact will scuff it!

Whenever jet blacks become available in the stores to play with, they're gunna be NASTY greasy things coated with the slimeprints from hundreds of curious shoppers. Eeeeew.

They'll need a full time employee with a stack of microfiber towels and bottles of quick detailer to keep it looking pretty.
