I think a lot of people will be surprised at just how black the black version is. In one of the hands on reviews I read "in pictures the black iPhone 7 looks kind of dark grey, but in real life its black. Really black". Like they said at the presentation, "it diffuses light".
So people avoiding it thinking its more of a darker space grey will be disappointed later since its actually darker than night and therefore gorgeous. The Jet black one will look like its made from plastic and actually cheaper looking i believe.
I think it's hilarious. I bet 99% of the people on this forum had never heard of, said, or typed "microabrasions" before now.
It's a beautiful phone. It will be used. It will show use.

If you look around, glossy black metal is not that rare. Here is my stapler lol.
Really nice to see a return of true black for the iPhone color, away from the Spay Gray they've been doing for couple years now. So, which one are you getting and why?
Black looks stealthy to me like the iPhone 5 black.
Jet black looks like it may have a problem with grease/smears, fingerprints, dust etc. BUT it could also look amazing, hard to tell from pictures. Maybe like the iPhone 4/4s black.
More evidence that it was intended as sort of the Elite iPhone 7 model.Jet black comes with a cool black box, if that makes a difference for anyone.

Let me guess you ordered matte black?
Dude you need a blog lolIf I did get an iPhone 7, I would be about 55% leaning towards the matte black. But that jet black is quite stunning. I am under the spell from all the promo photos Apple has been pushing with it. I can hear James Earl Jones voice telling me, "Do not underestimate the power of the dark side!" I remember owning the iPhone 3G and the glossy back AND curve was easier to grip than the 2G. So maybe fingerprints isn't so bad to make it less slippery. And who the hell stares at the back of their iPhone all-day anyway? Both still look similar at the front.
Plus that jet black although prone to fingerprints and scratches like the Note7, is really the first all-black iPhone consistently across with the exception of that Apple logo and a few other cosmetic things. The 3G series still had the chrome bezel around it. The 4 series had that stainless steel antenna band. This is Apple's version of Metallica's Black album. The Sith among all iPhone color options. Kylo Ren would be proud of owning one.
+ More uniformed look
+ Hides antenna lines the best
+ Hides the camera hump the best
+ Just more bling-bling and a standout
Get whatever black option makes you happy. Mine would either be the 256gb of either black options. I have owned matte and glossy black products. Now I prefer matte but I realized they are also guilty of showing fingerprints or oily smudges. The matte is just duller to make the fingerprints shiny like glossy would do. I am holding a black matte finish phone right now and I see the smudges but just too lazy to clean it. All black products are guilty of showing smudges. I remember having the black Sony PS2 phat and it still showed oily marks which was pretty hard to clean off like what the black matte HTC One M7.
I guess comparing between jet black vs black is similar to my old 1999 Honda Civic back in the day. The jet black when clean is like my car after a car wash or waxing. So shiny like I just bought the car brand new and afraid to get it dirty so soon. The matte black is equal to my car after a few days from the wash. Duller. Less shine. Still clean though. I like them both. Just need to wait and see what the durability tests and reviews have to say. Both should be great at whatever you choose and as long as you're happy.
Exactly what i thought when i read his glorified post on how the Matte black is the holy grail of black phones and so much better than the Matte Black lol
I personally ordered the 128gb iPhone 7 Plus in Jet Black and i need to wait till Oct 4-10 to get it due to the low stock and i'd like to mention i preordered at 3AM on the 9th, i rather have a phone that looks unique and different than any iPhone created to this date, I am putting it in an Apple leather Case as well from day one so if the jet black coating was to get scratched then it will more than likely be on the bottom part next to the lightning port since the Apple leather case doesn't cover that area but then again i could care less if it scratches since the phone is ment to be used at the end of the day,
The Matte black is boring in my opinion and looks just like the last 2 iPhones that were before it (iPhone 6 and 6S), heck i could have gotten the Matte Black delivered either on Launch day or a week after Launch day but id rather wait 2-3 weeks to get the Jet Black.
....And this post is the holy grail of the jet black, lol.
Different than any iphone to date? You know the back looks a lot like the iphone 3g(s) right? Or close to the iphone 4(s) right? The matte black is just as different as the jet black, from the front both look like the iphone 6(s), from the back both kind of look like the 6(s) series as well and different as well.
Man people on both sides are going crazy, fanboys within apple now, lol.
Come on people both phones look great, both are unique.
They both look great but the Matte black will look just like the previous gen iphone 6s and the even older iphone 6, and since you mentioned the 3GS, The 3GS's back was made of plastic where the iPhone 7's whole body is made of aluminum, these two materials are entirely different and comparing them is like comparing apples to oranges. Besides, you mention the 3GS like it was an ugly device or something lol, i thought it was a great looking device overall.
Not once did I act like the 3gs was an ugly device, you said the jet black will look like no other iphone, when in fact it will resemble the iphone 3gs because of the back. Also it doesn't matter if one is aluminum and one is plastic the look is close to the same. I liked the 3gs a lot, one of the best feeling iphones in hand, and I said the jet black looks awesome, you said the matte black looks dull.
The black of the matte black is completely different than the space grey of the 6 series, its like comparing apples to oranges
I just think it's funny, people make excuses why they dont want the jet black iphone, you make fun of them for making fun and then you bash the matte black.
My thing is that both colors look awesome in their own way. Both sides should be happy they have a new color.
