Yeah protection wise it isn't amazing but would at least feel like you haven't got a case on it.

I have already got this one...

But will also get one more..the clear case from spigen with the clip to use as a stand.

I learned the hard way how important that lip protection is last year when i dropped my iphone with a minimalistic case ,

I personally don't think having a case is a bad thing, i mean sure if you go for the "seethrough" type of thing then you don't want a case obstructing your phone but i personally look to have a nice case that offers slim protection and adds grip

I do like the one i posted above..it's the one i use on my 6s plus and has a good feel to it. While still seeing the back of the device

I can't speak for anybody else on this thread but I personally prefer the look of the matte. That doesn't mean I hate the Jet Black nor that I consider myself better because I picked this color. These are childish arguments. My observation is strictly as follows: regardless of all the warnings, people will still come here to complain about the scratches. It's human nature.
What does that have to do with thinking someone is a worse person due to the color PHONE they picked? Are you kidding me? There are real problems in the world. Hatred and racism and violence. What color phone you pick is not one of them. Geeez.

There's no denying this is quite an achievement. To put this much effort into a finish is something that needs to be applauded and quite frankly something only Apple would do. It's nothing short of a technological marvel! Jony Ive is a genius and I can't wait to see a ceramic iPhone 8 next year ;)
However some people simply prefer the look of the matte black. Nothing wrong with that.
Stop being sensible. Heck your argument could be applied to a lot of things - software as well as hardware wise.

While I have not ordered anything, I guess I am in the minority in that the scratches/fingerprints on JB would not bother me at all. It would add character to the phone IMO, like the original iPhone.

I've been saying that in every black phone discussion I've had and everyone denies it because of some preconceptions, jet will be easy to wipe. Every video I've seen of matte always looks worse as far as prints/smudges. Everyone ignores it and as soon as I point it out all the excuses come out as to why that particular instance has more smudges. You know after they said the jet did until presented with the evidence. Check the thread about the first unboxing last night on here.

I spent some time looking at the two at a reseller. There as a crowd of people looking at both models (a JB 7 and matte black 7+) and they were constantly being fondled. The JB 7 looked horrible with all the prints all over it. The matte black 7+ really looked as if it hid the finger prints much better.

Oh dear, people already know about these issues, but JB owners are not as anal as you. It seems to me you are more bothered about other people's JB phones just to justify your own purchase.

Or it could be JB owners already know about these issues and not as bothered about them as you are? They lead a happy life and don't give a toss?
[doublepost=1474012022][/doublepost]

So what do you want? All potential JB owners not to buy and buy Matte black? Is that your end game to make you feel happy?
Nah the more I read about Jet Black and the more I look at Matte Black, I don't need to justify my choice any more. Matte clearly wins for me. And trust me, a lot of Jet Black owners are bothered.

Finally got to fondle a jet black iPhone in person today as I was picking up my wife's reservation. My biggest fear was that it would look and feel like plastic, so I ordered a matte plus (out for delivery!!). I am 1000% happy with my decision after seeing the JB in person, it really does look and feel like plastic. I don't mean to put down you JB owners at all, this is just personal preference. Seeing the matte black in person I really dug the metallic look to it.

Can someone please tell me which one has better grip?? Is the matte black as slippery as the iPhone 6 and 6s? Does the jet black have better grip?

of course the jet black has more grip, the matte black is as slippery as a phone can be lol, just like the iphone 6 and 6s

I was in store this morning and can confirm that jet black has better grip. The matte is just as slippery as my silver 6. So I decided to pass on the matte black and wait a few weeks for my jet black preorder to come in.

If I don't place my 6 or 6S in a case then I'm sure I'd have a shattered screen every other day.

Why should anyone be bothered about Jetblack showing fingerprints??

You look at your phone from the FRONT 99% of the time. Who cares what it looks like from the back.

When its on the table, its facing up. So when exactly are you going to look at it from the back?

I fondled the jetblack today in the store and it was gorgeous. Really seamless design.

Why do you care about jet black then? If you'll never look at the back...

I hate that. I like carrying my phone naked and I can't do that with these slippery phones.

Tell me about it , the iphone 6 or iphone 6s is one of the most slippery phones i have had in my life and i can't imagine someone using it without a case, the iphone 7 matte black is exactly the same, if someone doesn't care about a shattered screen or whatever i guess it wont matter to them and they will use it naked but i personally want to minimally protect my iPhone 7 Plus jet black that i will get in about 2 weeks, i bought the spigen Liquid Armor case on amazon for the iPhone 7 Plus, looks like a great case with minimal lip protection to prevent a cracked screen if dropped.
in the past i used the official apple leather case on both my iphone 6 and 6s but the open bottom of the case might be a problem with my new jet black iphone 7 plus since it might scratch in that unprotected bottom where the apple leather case has an opening so i wont be buying the apple leather case this time and opted for the spigen instead

He just told you above that GRIP is the reason he went jet black and yet you still ask once again why he wants the jet black lol, the matte black is one of the worst phones to use naked and has the worst grip a phone could have with its matte black finish just like the iPhone 6 and 6S

the beskinever one is the best one no? these are kindda hard to install so im going to avoid it

I've installed these on everyone of my devices at one point or another and never had a problem. That said I'm also the guy everyone comes to when they want a screen protector put on their phone..

The matte black looks extremely boring and that matte finish is just wiered looking, not to mention its probably slippery as heck too making it impossible to use without a case just like the iPhone 6 was

Do you want to make anything else up or just leave it as that?

Never used a case for my 6 or 6s and never had a problem. Same for tens of millions of other people.

To me, the Jet Black is reminiscent of the iPhone 3G/3GS models. I loved the design on those, but I feel like matte looks more 2016 and Jet Black looks more 2008/2009 lol.

I think it's a matter of preference and both have their positives and negatives. I also think it's REALLY pathetic and lame to insult someone over which color phone they chose. Get a life, people. -_-

I have doubts where millions of people have use their 6 or 6s without a case. Up to people how they use their phone but the 6 and 6s are slippery. It's why i couldn't use it without a case. Each to their own though.

"Make up"? the matte finish is slippery and there is nothing you can say to contradict that. You use your phone then way you want to use it but come here and tell me i am making up the fact that the iPhone's matte finish both on the iPhone 6 and 6S as well as the iPhone 7 is slippery with little to no grip at all, and no, Millions of people don't use their phone naked, most logical people use it with a case for added protection and grip, its a small amount of users that use the phone naked.
