I was also wondering... I have this copper table in my living room wich shows use marks SUUUUPER quickly.. or my apple watch which has some micro scratches. I just use "never dull" to polish both of them and it works perfectly. Was wondering if that might work on the JB too..

So what do you want? All potential JB owners not to buy and buy Matte black? Is that your end game to make you feel happy?

Hey pal relax with the passive aggressiveness. My end game is actually world domination, but this is a good start!!

It's clear to me many could care less that it could be prone to scratches..like anything it's how you use your device. Fact the jet black has sold out quicker says it all.

Actually according the front page, Black is more popular. Jet Black has a lower yield therefore less inventory so it appears it is more popular by how far delivery dates are pushed out. Besides half of these will probably be returned because of how fast it wears : ). Enjoy your phones people!!

Nope, just that your comment is telling people how they should think when everyone is different. But hey, if you want to justify your purchase then so be it.
Woke up on the wrong side of the bed, eh? Listen, if you have buyers remorse just return your Jet Black. Nobody is telling anybody how to think. We're all expressing our personal opinions about a trivial thing. We get to do that here.

Look it, people should know what they're getting into with the JB. Apple is telling them loud and clear. Reviewers and telling them loud and clear. Yet some will inevitably still whine and complain about the scratches even after being told multiple times.

I've always read you don't want to do anything like that to aluminum due to the annodization. However with the advanced polishing that goes into creating the Jet Blavk that might be different. I bet somebody will try on YouTube soon tho so we should have an answer ;))

There you go again. Saying "you have buyers remorse". People already know what they are getting with the Jet Black. It has been mentioned on the front page of macrumors, techcrunch, etc. It is you who keeps banging on about it, repeating what has already been said.

So why are you repeating what people know what they are getting into? Just be happy with your matte black.

....And they are still going. Apparently those who ordered matte black = superior/smarter? "Woo! MY resale value, my ego!! Look at me!!" .. Hello! Most people who ordered JB are not worried about scratches. We all saw the same "warning" from Apple.

I can't speak for anybody else on this thread but I personally prefer the look of the matte. That doesn't mean I hate the Jet Black nor that I consider myself better because I picked this color. These are childish arguments. My observation is strictly as follows: regardless of all the warnings, people will still come here to complain about the scratches. It's human nature.
What does that have to do with thinking someone is a worse person due to the color PHONE they picked? Are you kidding me? There are real problems in the world. Hatred and racism and violence. What color phone you pick is not one of them. Geeez.

As someone said: Jet Black is prettier than ten most beautiful women multiplied by 7.
There's no denying this is quite an achievement. To put this much effort into a finish is something that needs to be applauded and quite frankly something only Apple would do. It's nothing short of a technological marvel! Jony Ive is a genius and I can't wait to see a ceramic iPhone 8 next year ;)
However some people simply prefer the look of the matte black. Nothing wrong with that.

Everyone I know, that preordered matte black and got it today have regretted it and immediately tried to swap them to jet black, which is unavailable. Because when you see it in person it takes your breath away.
Though, those who put these phones in cases, covers or anything like that - generally don't care about the colour.

The matte black looks extremely boring and that matte finish is just wiered looking, not to mention its probably slippery as heck too making it impossible to use without a case just like the iPhone 6 was, i have the jet black plus 128gb preordered oct4-10 delivery date and im keeping my preorder i have no intention to exchange for the matte even if the jet black scratches,

i ordered a slim spigen case for it ahead of time as well

Since I'm going with JB I've preordered a clear body skin (skinomi) for it. I will also purchase AppleCare+ just to be on the safe side.

I picked up my matte black 7 Plus this morning (and a silver, just in case) and have no regrets. Never bothered opening the silver, will return to Apple for a refund.

I will take my case off if I'm just lounging around the house then put it back on if I'm going out (if I go out i usually drink).

Going to order the air skin case which will look good with JB....as I'm going to get my jet black before my EE order of matte black..so will likely cancel my EE phone and stick with jet black.

Yeah protection wise it isn't amazing but would at least feel like you haven't got a case on it.

I have already got this one...

But will also get one more..the clear case from spigen with the clip to use as a stand.
