I just received my matte black 7 from UPS at 5:15 pm. Sheesh you gotta wait all day. It looks really nice and
it's almost done backing up. I put it in a clear case right away. These clear cases are also finger print magnets.
I will check out the JB at Apple Store on Monday.

just came back from the apple store here in new york, the matte black is the most dull and absolutely boring color theme apple has created in years, No wow factor whatsoever, no luster, just a plain matte looking device as it mentioned by several others in the thread, That is my personal opinion and view. The jet black on the other hand is stunning and beautiful. glad i preordered the jet black.

Is that white font on the back with a silver Apple logo? That's the only thing I don't like about JB.
That's just the angle of the phone. The apple is almost hard to find when you're holding JB.

I agree and surprisingly prefer Silver and Space Grey to Matte Black. Didn't think I'd like Jet Black as much as I did.

I liked at first the Matte black but after watching more JB videos, the JB just looks special.
If you want to be special and gets attention, JB is the winner.

Held both in my hand. The jet black is vastly more appealing to me.

And most surprising was the JB wasn't remotely slick or slippery feeling. It actually felt quite grippy.

The JB just looks flawless and monolithic. At a glance you can't really see the seams or where glass meets metal.

People should know how easy the Jet Black will scratch.
In my opinion, if you are going to resell the phone best bet is to buy the regular black iPhone 7.

I hope the iPhone 8 is either ceramic or glass.

this...this looks incredible.

So happy I got JB...matte black is nowhere close to this.
Your right, it is no where close to that which that jet black will look like crap after 5 minutes of use with finger prints all over it.

Don't care really. I'll just trade it in to verizon next year probably if i don't swap it out prior. This phone is going naked if it's got any sort of grip to it compared to the regular ones.

good argument. In my opinion the jet black is a stunner and I would get it myself if i would not have to wait up to 5 weeks.
I would simply buy a thin glass or plastic protection sheet to stick to the back of the device and a bumper case.

If you are walking around with keys, knives, nuts and bolts in your pockets along with the phone, chances are you don't really care about scratches in the first place.

Any of the superficial stuff can be buffed out easily with many auto products. Surface scratches are not a big deal.

Just saw both of the colors in the Apple Store... they both looked good but I really love the jet black. Didn't see any scratches on it yet. My heart wants the jet black but I'm afraid it'll look like crap in a year

Sign up for a carrier plan or IUP and just trade it in next year. Problem solved.

Honestly tho, from a distance it's kinda hard to tell if it's jet black or matte black because both looks very black. I prefer the matte black.

Went by the local Apple Store and was surprised to find only ONE jet black iPhone 7 and one 7 Plus on display. It's a pretty impressive piece of technology. It really is reminiscent in both look and feel (very grippy) of the 3GS. Personally I still prefer the matte black but can appreciate the complexity of the JB.

I prefer the stealth of the normal black. I like JB but didn't think it was worth waiting until November.
