Wooooooow this is huge! =))) I was kinda hoping they reboot Diablo II for mobile! But I'd take this too!

This is going to be huge!

So many haters whining about IAP, even though nothing in the article mentioned IAP.

Frankly, the game play looks great. When Apple released the new iPad a few days ago, some critics talked about how comparisons in power between it and consoles didn't matter, since there weren't console-class games for the iPad... but this looks to have the potential to be one. Mark me as very excited about what this could mean about the future of mobile gaming!

It's sad to see people supporting this blatant mobile cash grab garbage. Blizzard/Activision have turned a beloved franchise into a former shadow of itself. The crowd response during the Blizzcon announcement was nonexistent, and there was even one guy who asked the panel if it was an April Fool's Joke (and his question got a bigger rise out of the crowd than the announcement did).

For those that don't know, the game is being co-developed with Netease, a Chinese company notorious for putting microtransactions into games. So that's your first red flag right there.

In looking at the gameplay videos, it seems to be 80% recycled D3 graphics (sans the Witch Doctor), the rest looks to be QTE's or something that will be more friendly to mobile. How far the Diablo apple has fallen from the tree...

Regardless, if you need more information as to why you or ANYONE here should NOT support this, please look at these 2 pieces:

1 -
The announcement trailer has a current upvote/downvote count of 3.8K to 98K. So obviously a few people aren't happy with this.

2 - https://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo/comments/9tnawi/diablo_on_mobile/
Just read the massive amount of comments on why this is a slap in the face from Blizzard.

Anyone who supports this garbage should be ashamed of themselves. I am a long time Diablo fan, growing up on D1 in high school and playing all of the subsequent games and expansions. They lost their way with Diablo 3 (thanks Jay Wilson), and this is even further signaling that it seems like they just want to kill off the franchise (but make some bucks out of it in the process). This game is NOT Diablo. It is a cash grab from Blizzard when they could have been focusing their efforts on either D4 or at the very least a remake of D1/D2, like most people had expected them to be doing.

So so so beyond stoked for this. It might be the one thing to get me to move up to iOS 12

I’m sorry but you’re just not relevant anymore. The number of ‘long time Diablo fans’ are vanishingly small, they have either grown up or moved on. Blizzard’s target will be the hundreds of millions of mobile phone users who have never even heard of Diablo, that’s where the real money is and will be a true measure of their success.

But as an aside not related to your post... I do wonder how they could possibly implement a decent control scheme on mobile. Other games in this genre have always proven to be fiddly.

Sounds just as plausible.

This sounds exactly like people complaining when Apple introduced, rather than a new Mac, first an mp3 player, then a phone, a laughably-named oversized phone, and a watch.

Found the entitled gamer here.

Don’t really care about the Diablo game unless they just let us buy and play for a reasonable price and forego all the in-app purchase crap.

I’m all in on the WarCraft 3 Reforged. Always liked WC3 and Frozen Throne, my favorite RTS to play online. Have not played in a while (years) though...

Diablo on iOS, Warcraft 3 remastered, and awesome WoW patch news.

An awesome day one of Blizzcon!

Age of empires too pleased. No. Aoe first.
Age Of Empires has already been remastered, it's called the Definitive Edition. It came out last year. Microsoft has also confirmed development on Age Of Empires 4. Not to mention the HD version of Age Of Empires 2 that has been available for ... ages :p.

As for Blizzon's announcements? I am pretty stoked about the remaster of Warcraft 3 but that's about all.

I'm not overly pleased that we aren't getting anything new for Diablo. Yeah, a mobile game, thrilling... How about some more content for the already existing title? A new content patch? Or maybe an Expansion? Fans playing on console and PC get nothing, which is a damn shame.

Right now there is no confirmation of in app purchases for the game but sadly I can see it being a possibility.

If blizzard will come out with an easy to play touch controls for this diablo...to have this kind of game multiplayer online in your pocket it will be huge
People that complain its just like those who review something without even look at it

I know that WCIII & Frozen Throne have dated graphics and all but do they really look THAT old? I wonder how much better anyone expects the remastered version to look? Especially, after StarCraft Remastered was not exactly jaw-dropping and the original SC was 2D, so even older than WCIII.

Bah, this is gonna be another

Every breath you take and every move you make
Every bond you break, every step you take, I'll be charging you
Every single day and every word you say
Every game you play (literally), every night you stay, I'll be charging you

I’m expecting $19.90 for the game, fully loaded with IAPs...

StarCraft Remastered was not exactly jaw-dropping because Starcraft 2 exist. There is no Warcraft 4 so an War3 remastered is much more pleasing, to have above fullhd options and so on..

Excuse me? My money is just as good as anybody else's.

The fact they have taken a franchise with a very dedicated fanbase and twisted it into... this, is what has people up in arms. It also shows what kind of company Blizzard has truly become - driven by microtransactions and profits instead of a desire to make new, quality games within their existing IP's.

this is not Diablo 4 ! if they do diablo 4 it will be on pc/mac first. This is just another diablo 2-3 on mobile with a little new sorry behind it. Thats all

Of course. But the category you belong to would number in the hundreds of thousands. Better to go for the market which numbers hundreds of millions.

First of all... don’t be so over dramatic. At this point you really know nothing about the game. If it doesn’t meet your expectations then don’t buy it. Secondly... that sounds like crazy talk. I have never ever heard of a single company anywhere in the world that was driven by profits.
