There was no notch in these videos. False advertising.

That is because they are probably running on the new iPad Pro that has a 7 core GPU that is faster than the Xbox! Come on man, keep up! And by the way, the new iPad Pros do not have a notch! :)

I think it’s funny how people get so mad that others get a chance to play a great game. If you don’t like it, guess what, it’s not for you! That doesn’t mean they’re going to stop developing games for other consoles, it just means millions of others with mobile devices get to enjoy it too! Chill out! The future of gaming is in mobility and accessibility.
Myself and many other people seriously doubt that this will be a “great game”. You have obviously never played any of the previous Diablo games, or even the originals. Otherwise you would understand how far this “game” has fallen from the tree.

So many haters whining about IAP, even though nothing in the article mentioned IAP.

Frankly, the game play looks great. When Apple released the new iPad a few days ago, some critics talked about how comparisons in power between it and consoles didn't matter, since there weren't console-class games for the iPad... but this looks to have the potential to be one. Mark me as very excited about what this could mean about the future of mobile gaming!
It's a reskin of a Pay to Win game from NetEase.

No one should have any hope for this game.

Kinda like how iPhones and iPads didn't impact the release cycle of the Mac, right?

Inorite?! If you know Blizzard, they love IAP (their in-game store for example). Blizzard isn't shy charging players $25 for a mount so this makes a lot of sense.

Except Blizzard games are never pay to win. It's either purely cosmetic items offering no in game advantage or pay to progress like in Hearthatone.

Ahh. So because you believe it's pay to win, irregardless of the fact that nobody has even said ANYTHING about whether or not it is p2w, you deem the upcomming game to have no hope that it'll be good and are forcing others to come to the same conclusion as yourself? Got it.

So because he doesn't get the game he demands & thinks he's entitled to as a "long time diablo fan" it's acceptable for he and others to resort to insults and demeaning behavior towards the developers?
He hasn’t said anything disrespectful. Put down the lance white knight. Especially since you don’t even seem to grasp the situation.

Do yourself a favor & skip this and grab Diablo III on Switch if your looking for a true Diablo experience in the go.

Well, it appears that to address the disappointment expressed by many people, the Diablo lead designer started the “Diablo: World and Q&A” session with an acklowdgement that they love the Diablo community and that they (the community) are “very passionate”.

He went on to add that he “just wanted to point out” that they have “multiple Diablo projects being worked on, by multiple teams,” and not on just Diablo Immortal. That’s about as close as they will get to an, “oops, maybe we sort of mis-judged how you guys would respond. Sorry!”

Regarding micro-transactions ... they have not decided yet. They are focusing on gameplay right now, and will look at “micro-transactions vs single pay” later on in development.

I love diablo and a huge fan of the series but tapping 100k times on an iPad screen sounds no buenco. Give me a good ole fashion keyboard and mouse along with the hot keys to properly play this game.

Hard pass!

Looks like it was well received...
YouTube: Diabolo dev team booed at Blizzcon 2018

I'm sad to see that today PC games are being left behind in exchange for mobile games where your only interaction with the game is to tap or to not tap the screen. However, I am grateful to have grown up with PC games in the golden age of gaming. I just feel bad for those who are growing up today and can't experience anything of the sort.

Kinda reminds you of Mac users booing the iPad every chance they get, doesn’t it?

Will the new $1500 iPads be able to run it with there outdated ram?

Better than an android device with triple the ram, I would wager.

Announcing this at Blizzcon was a disaster last night. Horrible PR, horrible planning. Blizzard has really lost touch with its customer base, and the announcement (to an auditorium of PC players who booed the announcement) was just the latest incident. Let's just say I won't be buying any ATVI stock anytime soon (Activision owns Blizzard).

Same! Long time Blizzard fan! For the Horde!! Anyway, I believe they will do remastered graphics like what they did with the original Starcraft and Brood Wars a couple of years ago. That would actually be pretty cool for nostalgic purposes :)

For the Horde!!

It’d be awesome if they used the new graphic system and gameplay style for all the old campaigns. I’d love to play the whole thing again. The Warcraft 2 campaigns were awesome. The expansion was tough!

They are going to make a ton of money off this game though. It’s not what the fanbase wants but millions of people will buy it and eat up whatever IAP crap they peddle. It’s a shame.

You're right and I take back saying that he said anything disrespectful but the fact remains that the insults and derogatory comments being made to the Diablo developers is unacceptable and extremely disrespectful.

And fyi as a 15-year long Blizzard player I do indeed fully grasp the situation.

The crowd are being stupid, you can’t make a full mobile experience game and then make it work on the PC and vice versa. They are just salty they aren’t getting a new Diablo game on PC. And with the success of Heartstone I’m not surprised they are going in this direction.
I’d kill for a mobile version of Starcraft!

No one wanted their mobile game to work on PC. They just wanted a PC game to begin with. The game may be successful but it won't be successful because of the fanbase, it will be successful because of casual mobile gamers who have never played the original game. So the fanbase is pissed off. I think it makes sense.

It's like Apple suddenly declared that they're now transitioning to Windows because it will have more users that way. While they sure would have more users, the people who were loyal to Apple would be pissed off.

Always going towards what brings more money isn't necessarily the best choice. It's the best choice from a business point of view, but when it comes to making creative, quality content, it kind of goes against it.

neeh, just wait, until now the mobile hardware was not on

Mobile hardware is a touchscreen. It has always been a touchscreen. The way you play games on a touchscreen has nothing to do with the way you play games on a desktop computer with a keyboard and mouse. It's like comparing a truck to a jumprope. Both have their merits but people who have bought trucks from a truck company expecting a truck have every right to be disappointed when their beloved company releases a jumprope, and then pretty much says "What? We never even thought of releasing anything else. We're very excited! Don't you understand? We're like... very excited about this! What more do you want?"

Kinda reminds you of Mac users booing the iPad every chance they get, doesn’t it?

Not at all. The release of the iPad is not a detriment to the Mac. Features people wanted on Mac don't get released on iPad without being released on Mac. You can very well ignore the iPad and continue to use a Mac.

Whereas when people waiting many years for a PC game are given... a mobile game, and "no plans" for a PC game, that's disappointing. It means that not only is their favorite franchise probably dead, the developers don't even realize why people aren't happy about it.

So your logic is that the players of the mobile game will in your opinion, never have played the PC version, and that is why they are annoyed?

All these people are nothing more then jumped up PC elitists that for whatever strange reason believe Blizzard exists purely to serve them and them only. And they this time got pushed to the side for the biggest gaming market on the planet and where all the money is.
If I ran Blizzard I’d do the same thing, I’ve no doubt they’ll have a new Diablo 4 in the works too somewhere. And I bet half of these PC gamers will play the mobile version anyway.

You live in a world of shareholders now, we have many Apple shareholders on this site, they don’t really care about quality all they care about is a return on their investment, hence why Cook drove Apple to be a profit machine, just like what Blizzard are doing, it they have shareholders?

So... Diablo Immortal == Crusaders of Light + Blizzard assets?

Pretty much so.

You would bet wrong - People who play Diablo aren't interested in playing a reskinned D3 knock-off on a tiny screen.

It's entirely predictable that PC gamers would pooh-pooh an original Diablo game for mobile.
