Apple Watch needs a better update than that. Getting more competitive in the market now. Need a lot better battery life, true wireless charging, etc...

I'm hoping for better battery life, too. I also wouldn't mind if the watch was faster and had more memory to hold podcasts and music.

...its very hard to keep one in these days with so many people working and building the new devices and new software

What new devices & new software? I've seen 0 exciting innovations with Tim Cooke as CEO,..only constant boring revision updates. The most cashed up company has lost its ability to innovate!

spO2 sensor is the only thing that’s been consistently mentioned for the new AW. There’s gotta be more than that, right? At least a new processor and better battery life?

What is really quite a bit sad how Ipad Air used to have the latest tablet designated cpu with the x-chip and now the rumors say it would not even have the A14.

I am looking to upgrade the Air 3 as my parents need a new tablet but did skip the latest Ipad pro as it had the old A12Z instead of A13X. If the latest Air will not have the A14 or A12Z there is really no reason to upgrade.

I have to say I dont really like the direction Apple is going. Instead of innovation I am starting to see cost cutting and recycling of old parts. Thats not acceptable with technology at these prices.

If the AW6 is what it has been hyped up to be, then it may be worth the upgrade form my AW1 (which was an AppleCare replacement from my AW0).

The AW1 still works though the battery is starting to die out earlier.

Agreed. Seems like Samsung innovates then a few years later Apple comes along and makes it better.

The Series 1 and 2 are not expected to get watchOS 7. It will be time to upgrade.

The new Air will surely keep the same A12 chip. So a refurbished/used 2018 Pro with quad stereo speakers, ProMotion, A12X chip, better camera, etc would still be a better buy...

No, but I think it’s too much of a toss up at this point as to whether it will be A12 or A13. Regardless, the 9th Generation iPad ($329 model) will end up with the A12, whether it arrives tomorrow or in March/April of 2021.

Personally, I think Apple will put the A13 in the new iPad Air 4 as they don’t care that the current Pro has the A12Z, given that in 6 months it will update it to the A14X.

I bet an A12 for the new Air, like our current Air, but maybe up the ram to 4 instead of 3. Your parents would do really well with a refurb Air 3.

It really looks they’re going to do a September event minus the IPhone. I’m inclined to think that the event is bound to disappoint those who don’t follow this closely but who inevitably associate September events with IPhones. Because I’m not sure a lot of people who follow this stuff casually are going know who Gurman is or that Apple it seems is trying to set expectations with controlled leaks to him. But Apple has proven to know what they are doing, especially when it comes to business and marketing. I think I might actually be just as intrigued at how this goes over should Bloomberg be right as I am with the products they announce at this event if Bloomberg is right.

The Series 4 Watch redefined the entire lineup and was a huge leap forward. Expecting this every or every other generation is unrealistic.

Too many people here who thinks Apple is supposed to invent ground breaking features for every release and have new industrial design reeks of SAS.

02 monitoring will be great. For working out and early COVID awareness
Hook line and sinker. Apple have you in the net and it's about to be hauled onto the boat.

The pulse ox sensor in the AW6 (or any wearable device) is not even remotely clinically accurate/useful for "early COVID awareness". Not only is any sensor of this type fundamentally compromised by the setting (wrist) and use (movement), by the time your sats have been measurably compromised by respiratory deficit or distress caused by the virus, you'll already know about it as you'll have been seen by doctors and likely already be in a hospital ward under observation.

As for "working out", unless you're into high altitude training, again it's a big no.

Regarding the event being an "everything but iPhone" announcement, I'll believe it when I don't see it. Best Buy is pulling iPhone 11 displays down, Target is prepping their ads, and accessories are showing up all over the place in retail. Everything else happening in the real world suggests new iPhones will be announced tomorrow and at least one model will be available sooner than the delayed timeline. (I'm personally guessing Pros show up later.)

Either all these trusted retail partners have been lied to, or the rumor mill "experts" are being lied to. Which one seems more likely?

Performance wise that is true but I would like to have a slighly more powerfull tablet with a slightly larger screen. Therefore the easiest way would be to give my old tablet to my parents.

Speaking of disappointments. I was also disappointed to notice that the Air 3 has the same dreaded white spot above the home button as Ipad pro 10.5. Apple is most likely aware of the issue and they should have addressed that in Air 3.

"The report adds that the first Apple Silicon Macs with custom processors will be unveiled by November"

sounds like if you are choosing between an iPad pro and a 12" Mac - this Mac would be the one to get as this Mac will be able to run Ipad/iPhones apps, already has a keyboard and it is very portable. The iPad Pro are ridiculously expensive once you add the pencil and the keyboard

The CFO said iPhones will be a few weeks late this year. Either Apple was able to solve all the issue and ramp up production to remove that delay, or both iPhones will be late this year.
If only the Pro model was late, why tell that during the earnings call? If they were forced to talk about a delay, I'd say both models are not ready in September.

I read about the white spot, but have yet to see that on my Air 3.

The notoriously accurate leaker, l0vetodream, noted that the new Apple Watch will have quick charging. This could possibly help to alleviate the battery life issue.

Does that help you?

Hard sell if that iPad Air 4 has same or similar processor...unless price stays the same and RAM is increased.
Apple rarely increase the RAM on low end device! That what keeps them becoming obsolete, after all!
