...BUT then the girl told me that i have to wait 200 years to open the vault...WTF !
<<<SPOILER ALERT>>>

Highlight from here---> The "Vault" isn't really a huge supply of weapons and $$$. It is a tomb, built by the Eridians to keep the Destroyer from wiping out the universe. The Guardians that you fight toward the end of the game were created by the Eridians as protectors of the Vault.

The "Guardian Angel" voice who talks to you throughout the game, and encourages you to seek out the vault, is nothing more than a satellite transmission from the Hyperion Corporation. They are telling you this so you will attempt to go there in the hopes of great wealth, and you can defeat the Destroyer when the Vault opens. If not, it would come out, and kill everything. So, when you kill it and think you are going to find riches and weapons, you really only saved the universe for another 200 years.
<---to here.

<<<END SPOILER ALERT>>>

I was sort of bummed with the ending as well, though. I mean, you get some $$$, sure, but other than that, you get nothing. No weapon, no shield, no upgrades. I mean, if you played through the game once, and didn't plan on attempting Playthrough 2, you would feel REALLY stiffed by the whole thing. I'm hoping maybe the 4th DLC that is coming will maybe clear up some of the odd loose-ends, and maybe explain the story and whatnot a little better.

I'm thinking they left the ending like that cause they want to make borderlands part 2

Actually a better way is the "spoiler" tags which this forum does not support. So white text is the way to go.

Yes the game misrepresents the Vault from the start... :)

Even thou i killed destroyer i will keep on playing till the last level,im on level 34 today..by the way have you guys used that shotgun called "boom stick" this baby is powerful :D

Yea, those are nice. A different gaming forum I'm on relies on them heavily. I remember trying to use them here once, and wondering what I was doing wrong for them to not show up. Then I found out they don't even work here.

Yea, the Boom Stick is pretty ace. I like Sledge's Shotgun as well. It has terrible accuracy (which is actually good for a shotty), but it does some mean damage. The only problem is the whole rapid-fire thing. Firing off both chambers in one trigger pull and then having to reload every time can be dangerous if you are fighting enemies that don't die in one hit.

I don't know if you guys have the Knoxx DLC, but the gun you want to try and get is called the Chopper. It is a Combat Rifle that you get as a random drop from "Motorhead" fairly early on. It is wild. It holds like 525 rounds per clip, but the problem is, it doesn't stop firing until the clip is empty once you pull the trigger. And given it's insane fire rate, it will empty its clip in about 7 seconds. You can stop it, if you just swap weapons, but it is kind of fun to just run around with it blasting the crap out of things. My buddy that I play with all the time is a Soldier, and he has a class mod with team ammo regeneration, so this gun works well with that. :D

Wow, the chopper. It might have it's moments. I'll have to see if I can get that in a drop. :D

I forgot to add, you can also run while shooting with this gun. The game normally won't let you run and shoot, but since you don't have to hold down the trigger with the Chopper, you can start firing, and then run around blasting things. I have to say, the gun isn't really useful, but holy crap is it hilarious to use every now and then for fun.

And yea, you can farm Motorhead pretty easily, either for the XP gain or for trying to get the Chopper. In the course of trying to get that gun, I figured out a little trick, and ended up maxing out most of my weapon proficiencies.

1 - Get a good incendiary SMG, like a Maliwan Hellfire. Motorhead isn't shielded, so fire weapons just tear him up.
2 - Go to Motorhead. He only takes about 1 minute to get to from T-Bone Junction. Head north to The Ridgeway. Once that section loads, follow the road for just a short bit until you see the off-ramp on the right hand side.
3 - When you get close to the garage down there, the door will open, and Motorhead will drop down and start to charge at you.
4 - Just lay into him with your Hellfire. Once the fire starts to burn him, his energy will drop like crazy, and he'll be dead in a matter of seconds.
5 - If you get the Chopper, cool. If not, just save and quit, reload your save, and head over there again. Only takes about 2 minutes.

Now here is where it gets interesting. He is a fairly high level character, so you get a decent amount of XP for killing him. Whenever you earn any XP, the game also awards you with that much XP for your weapon proficiencies as well. But, here is the trick. It awards you for what gun you are holding when it pops up the XP, not for what weapon you used. So, once you get Motorhead all shot up real good, and he's rapidly burning, just switch to a different weapon, and you'll earn the XP for that type of weapon instead.

In the course of trying to get the Chopper, I probably killed Motorhead about 200 times. But, since it only takes about 2 minutes, this really was no big deal. And once I figured out the weapon proficiency thing, I had my Sniper, Pistol, SMG and Shotty all maxed out at Level 50 proficiency. That is great, because you get some really nice boosts for getting up that high.

Ok guys it's been a long ride finally capped off at level 35,I finished the main missions and now finished the side missions..It was a whole lotta fun..see you next time if they take out Borderlands 2. Which game should i play next ? I was thinking Assassins creed 2:D

Actually if you are still having fun, the ride can continue with higher level caps by downloading the expansions. We've played through both Zombie Island and Secret Armory of General Knoxx. I don't remember exactly but the one/both? of those raise the cap to 60 or so. See this Borderlands Wiki link.

I've just recently started playing through Mass Effect 2 again. I got it back when it launched earlier this year, but never really played it. I'm only a couple hours in, but it is really good so far.

The "General Knoxx" DLC raises the level cap to 61. If you only buy one of the expansions, it is the one to get. The other two are good, but the amount of stuff to do, and all the extra items and levels make the Knoxx DLC the best of the bunch.

The 4th DLC has been announced today, and it sounds like a FANTASTIC one. Coming next month for $10, it will have a whole assortment of new enemies to fight, new boss battles, 3 more backpack slots, 10 more skill points, etc. Personally, I thought the Claptraps were hilarious, so getting more of them is great. No word on if the level cap is also raising to go along with the skill points, but I hope so...
Gearbox Software said:
Claptrap’s New Robot Revolution invites single-player and co-op fans back to try to suppress a deadly Claptrap revolution using one of four infamous vault hunters. The foursome find themselves caught in the crosshairs of a deadly civil war between the Hyperion Corporation’s well-armed armadas and the ever-amassing army of homicidal Claptraps led by one of the most eagerly awaited characters in the franchise’s history – the cunning Ninja Assassin. As vault hunters, players must put aside their past differences with the Hyperion Corporation, namely the organization’s repeated attempts to wipe them from existence. For a hefty payday, they will join forces to help beat down the mechanical uprising and thwart the dastardly kung-fu expert, the Claptrap known only as Ninja Assassin.

If you are doing this on your first playthrough, that mission is a level 30 mission, so you are plenty high of a level. Just be sure to clear out Hanz and Franz, then all the other enemies, and then work on Flynt. It has been a long time since I've encountered him, but I remember both times I did, I just went right at him with shotguns and rocket launchers. His gun takes forever to reload, so just dodge his shots, then when he is reloading, run up to him and unload on him. And yea, corrosive or incendiary ammo should do the most damage, since he is a human character.

If i remember i killed flynt with the corrosive hand gun,the small one, believe it or not it does alot of damage but alot of people dont know that

partyBoy -Yeah corrosive bloodwind and electric reaper magnum thing. They hardly made a dent.

SevenInchScrew - I have a couple more side missions to complete atm so ill do them get to level 34 and hopfully collect some new wepons along the way.

hmmm..thats weird it worked for me unless i forgot how i beat him, anyways one thing i do remember clearly dont forget to get flynts gun,it is called "boom stick" it is the most powerful shotgun the game offers

anyways one thing i do remember clearly dont forget to get flynts gun,it is called "boom stick" it is the most powerful shotgun the game offers
Technically, Sledge's Shotgun is more powerful, but in reality both are kind of useless because of the way they burst fire. At least, that is what I felt. I had a couple other shotguns that I was much more effective with other than those 2.

I managed to destroy Flynt with my shotgun up-close which took a matter of seconds but the boom-stick you get off him i thought was useless as are most of the grenade shotguns. Now I seem to fighting some kind of giant squid thing which is at level 33 and is taking the P**s when it comes to taking damage :( especially when I'm at level 35 nearly touching 36 oh well on my off day ill give the game some serious bashing I think.

On another note anyone got any of the DLC pack's that are out there????
