My game disc cracked....by what you ask? The FREAKING GAME CASE! The button that suppose to pop out the disc totally ruin the thing. Everytime I tried to pop the button to release the disc the case would give me a hard time now the PS3 won't recognize the thing. At first I thought my new slim PS3 was freaking out until I popped in Ratchet/Clank, Ass Creed 2 which worked flawless then I examine the disc and low and behold...a crack right where the disc meets the button:(

I'm done with this game...theres no way I'm buying a new/used copy until Its bargain binned.

Bless

Ok, I admit it. Borderlands has a high level of combat repetition. Same fights, different setups. Somehow still having a good time playing coop. ;)

I'm liking it. First game I'll be back to when I'm done with Dragon Age. I love the art style and humor in the game. Can't decide if this or LFD would be better engine with which to make a Zombieland game :p

We've not yet located the Borderlands vault, but anyway just down loaded and played the Dr Ned's Zombie Island expansion for Borderlands (off XBL). It's moody and fun, although the game mechanics are basically the same as vanilla Borderlands. A variety of zombies with different tactics come in pretty good numbers and they'll puke acid on you. When they are pretty close, you can shoot them which tends to stun and then use your knife to finish them off. I've got to make a comparison to mobs in the original areas, but it seems like you can hurt them pretty good with you knife when they get that close. I've taken a couple of heads off. :)

I just recently picked this game up, but so far I am LOVING it. I have 2 characters that I'm currently playing. I have a Siren (lvl 28) that I'm playing through solo with, and then I have a Hunter (lvl 30) that I'm using to play with a couple buddies.

This game is great on so many levels, it's hard to begin to describe it. I love the randomized loot system, though with my gaming-ADD, I tend to search EVERYTHING, which becomes time consuming. The shooter aspect is very good as well. It is basically the perfect mix of RPG leveling and looting mixed with a very competent shooter on top. Add in the 4-player co-op and I will be playing this game for a LOOOONG time. I downloaded all 3 of the DLCs, but I'm going to work on them later once I have the story done with one of my characters first.

Oh and Scooter and the Clap Traps are awesome....

"COME ON and catch a RIIIIIIDEE!!!" :D:D

i had it for xbox 360 and i had the soldier class and i was killer at that game but i never beat it because my brother sold it so yah.... but it was still a great game

After not playing BLs for a while, we cranked it back up only to find our split screen is now vertical (left side, right side) instead of horizontal (top, bottom). We are playing the zombie addon. We used to play this game with the horizontal split screen (or so I remember), but I see no options to change it one way or the other. Gotta have my split screen horizontal.

Is anyone familiar with this issue? Thanks!

Never resolved the split screen issue, but finished the game. If you are still working on it, when you descend into the vault and kill the boss, the game ends and credits roll. I have not yet tried to restart and continue working on side quests.

The ending is a bit disappointing Spoiler: Go find the vault, it only opens every 200 years, oh there is a monster that pops out of the vault, you killed the monster good job, no worries for another 200 years, except the vault is now closed and you get none of the stuff that is supposed to be in the vault such as, a "treasure trove of alien artifacts, technology, and of innumerable wealth."
End Spoiler. Maybe in a sequel?

Overall the boss sequences are fairly mundane. Run around and pump a couple thousand rounds into the boss until it dies... The Trash Coast boss did not even attack you, just offered up it's body for target practice! :p

We logged back into the game after beating the Vault Boss and to our surprise, even though the game had rolled the credits, did not record our victory and the game still showed the Boss fight/quest as uncompleted! Bastardo! You might ask, did you turn in the quest? That's mighty hard when the game auto rolls credits and ends.:confused::eek:

The "end" of the game isn't technically until after the credits. The final quest is completed after the credits roll, when the game loads back up. You will still be at the vault, right where you were before the credits. But in order to "complete" the final quest, you have to return to Tannis, and turn in the Vault Key to her.

If you already did that, and it still says you didn't, then I'm not sure what the problem is, and your game might be glitched. Was this on your 1st or 2nd playthrough?

I remember my friend picked up the Vault key, but then the credits rolled and I don't remember the game starting back up. Maybe we did end up on the start screen. Next time we play, I'll see if he still has it in his inventory. Thank you! Maybe I should be feeling a little stupid. ;)

I've been playing a TON of this game lately. It has completely taken over my gaming. I have now played through the game 5 times. Once with each of the 4 character types, and then with my Hunter I finished the 2nd playthrough as well. With that character, a buddy and I have also been playing through the DLCs as well, and they have been just as great as the main game.

The "Zombie Island" DLC was sort of short, but was packed with fun and hilarious missions. This game has a great sense of humor, and this DLC was packed with it. The zombie characters were a nice change of pace to fight against, but still put up a good fight. I had a lot of fun with this.

Recently we've been working on the "General Knoxx" DLC. You pretty much need to be at Level 50 before you start it. The characters are all 50 or higher, and will really tear you up if you aren't careful. You also have to do a lot of driving, which can get a tedious, but there are a lot of enemies to fight as you travel places, so it helps with leveling up. We have now completed the main story for the DLC, and have maxed out at Level 61, but we are still working on all the other side quests. We tried fighting "Crawmerax the Invincible" earlier tonight, but he kicked our ass hard. He will take some work. Also like the Zombie DLC, this add-on has a ton of new enemies to fight. Mostly "Crimson Lance" enemies like seen near the end of the main game, but there are a TON of new varieties. Overall, this is a long and challenging DLC, but all the new added leveling, enemies and items make it well worth it.

On a different, but slightly related note, in the course of playing this game, I have acquired most all of the achievements. But tonight I have hit another milestone. I surpassed 20,000 Gamerscore. It doesn't seem that long ago that I hit 10k, but alas, I am now at 20k. :D

We launched back into Borderlands. I thought when we beat the boss the first time, we did get a vault key, but it was no where to be found. So we killed the boss a second time, got the vault key, watched the credits roll, went immediately back into the game and visited the lady in West Rust Commons (or was it East?), the one who lives in a little shack out in the middle of no where, turned in the vault key and got a big pile of money. I would have been more impressed it we had gotten the "riches" that were referred to, meaning the vault was full of cool things.

One cool thing I do have is an alien rifle that shoots out an orb, kicking the sh*t out of most mobs. :D But I had it before the vault.

The "Zombie Island" "General Knoxx"

Zombie Island of Dr Nedd or is it Zedd? :) was a lot of fun and we just got hold of General Knoxx. Have not played it yet. BTW, where do you go to find the start of those Knoxx quests?

Yep, she is in the Rust Commons West. When you mentioned your problem earlier, I kind of thought that might have been the issue. The end of the game is a little weird that way. You kind of figure that if the credits have rolled, that the quest is done. Lots of little weird oddities like that in this game.

That as well was a little odd to me. If you are someone who doesn't have any of the DLC, the end of the game leaves you kind of empty. The whole game you are promised these vast riches and weapons, and when you finally get there and finish things, you don't get much of anything. A little odd.

Just wait until you get to General Knoxx stuff. There are some AWESOME weapons in that DLC. Lots of high power shields, great class-mods, and tons of awesome Elemental weapons.

HAHA, yea I loved his incognito mustache. The humor in this game is really great.

The fast-travel spot for General Knoxx is called T-Bone Junction. There are a TON of missions to do, and a lot of great items to acquire. We still can't beat Crawmerax, but we're getting there. He is the toughest boss in the game, so it's sort of understandable that he would take some effort.

Thanks! My nephew tried to look at this area with a low level character in a solo game, I think about L13 but could not find it. I'm thinking you must be much higher for it to register?

Yea, as long as the DLC is loaded, you can go there from any fast travel location. The thing is, at that low level, you won't be able to do much. The General Knoxx quests are all meant to be started once you have finished the story, from either the 1st or 2nd playthrough. If you are playing the 1st playthrough, the quests all start at Level 35 and get tougher from there. And if you are on the 2nd playthrough they will start at 50 and go all the way up to 61 for the last few.

So yea, if he went there at 13 he could do the first little mission where you meet up with Scooter, but beyond that he would just get totally destroyed. You need to be leveled up quite a bit, and be very well armed, because the enemies in this DLC are ruthless.

We've downloaded the Secret Armory of General Knox, but when we start the game as our level 36 characters, 1st playthough, T-Bone Junction does not appear in fast travel. What did we not do that needs doing?
Thanks!

I had to download it twice - it didn't take the first time for some reason.

On the downloadable content page (X-Box) although the expansion showed with a check mark showing it had downloaded, I selected download and had to wait while all 1.6 GB of the expansion downloaded for the second time, but this time it registered. At the end we got a message saying the content was installed and to proceed to T-Bone junction via fast travel. Thanks!

The first time I purchased the content from the X-Box Live Marketplace and let it download in the background while we did other things. This time we selected downloadable content from within the game's starting menu and left that page up until it finished. Did this make any difference? I can't confirm.

Here is another link at the Borderlands forum on the subject. In searching, I also notice there seemed to be the same problem on PS3.

I had similar issues to this back when I was downloading some DLC for Fallout 3. Content wouldn't show up in the game even though it shows up on my HDD. I ended up doing a similar thing as you. I would just go to the XBL Marketplace on the dashboard and download the DLC before even starting the game. Then I would restart the Xbox before playing the game. That seemed to fix the Fallout issue, so I've just done that for any DLC since then. Now it all works just fine, and I never had any issues with Borderlands. Hope all works well for you now.

For those in love with Borderlands, the General Knoxx expansion is an outstanding edition. The guided rockets on the monster vehicle are awesome. Each shot spews out 3 of them. There are many airborne NMEs that attack. These rockets make the encounters relatively easy. It's the only thing I drive around. Doing coop along the highway, there are compounds where you need to take out squads or leaders of squads. One of you can stay in the vehicle and just continuously lob these guided missles in the direction of your partner. They do a remarkable job navigating around obstacles to wipe out mobs.

You save a girl named Athena. Her radio messages are sent imbedded in "male enhancement" commercials, a riot to listen to. :)

We've started through for a second run, this time using a Siren and Brick. (First time was a soldier and a hunter.) There seems to be a difficult period that goes from about L13-15. Most of our quests were listed as difficult. About L17 we were cook'n again. Yeah, I know that is not saying much, but mostly I enjoy cruising through a game, not getting killed a multitude of times.

I'm playing the Siren. When you first starts out, her powers seem on the weak side as compared to a Brick, but as time goes on, her psi attack gets potent. This ability is close melee range only, but you can hoof it right up to a mob and fry'm before they know they're dinner. ;)

I think Brick was my most surprising character to play. I didn't think he would be any fun to use, but with your skill points put to good use, he can be an absolute riot to play. Put points into shortening his cooldown and also extending his "Berserk" and he just DESTROYS everything. Tons of fun.
