I did the same. I was impatient and didn't want to wait on a 7 plus to become available so I bought a 6s plus instead.

This is my first iPhone. I've always been Android since back when the Moto Droid first came out.

So far I'm liking it quite a bit and since I'm on the tmobile jump plan I may upgrade to the 7 Plus once they become widely available.

My main complaint about iOS is the 100mb limit. I'm on Unlimited so it seriously pisses me off.

Aww that sucks. I'm enjoying my 7+ more than I was enjoy my 6s+. Everyone is different, but I don't like old tech lol.

I get being frustrated being stung along like that, but you're not really airing your grievance if you just decide to buy something else from the company that upset you in the first place...

Old tech? I have a 7+ and other than the solid state home button and slightly improved camera it feels no different to the 6S+ for my (heavy) usage pattern. The stereo speakers are meh, the two generations older 6+ had the best iPhone speaker to date in my opinion. As for the OP, if he's saving £700 over the life of his contract then I'd say the 6S+ is a no-brainer. It was leaps and bounds better than the 6+ loudspeaker aside, and is hardly trumped by the newer 7+ in any essential capacity.

This may be one of the more sensible posts in this thread.

The 6s may be "old" tech because it came out in 2015, but the iPhone 7 definitely isn't leaps and bounds better than the 6s.

If anyone should be laughing it's the OP. They're saving £700 and will get the better iPhone next September. It's a win-win for them and if you ask me a no brainer.

OP I THINK you made the right choice. As I've said in this thread already ... I returned my iPhone 7 because the differences were negligible at best. The screen looks absolutely no better side by side. THE A10 isn't being used to its full benefit st the moment ... the A9 was and is still a BEAST of a processor... next year is when the real "update" comes... this iPhone 7 isn't anything but a way for Apple to say they released something "new."

When what they should have done was just extended the 6 series one more year and saved the 7 for a real "update."

God and everyone else truly knows this phone they realeased is not a true update.

iphone 7 series all the way based on improvements on display alone

The improvements in the display are hardly noticeable. The ppi is still the same on both devices. Resolution is still a pultry 750p on the 7 and 1080p on the Plus. I know there's the wide color gamut, but I noticed no difference during my 3 days with the 7.

I'm not saying it isn't there, but it's not mindblowing by any means

this is a pointless thread. everyone's situation is different. what works perfectly for you does not mean jack to others.

my situation coming from 6+:
- iphone 7 plus 32 for $200 (tax + fee) after AT&T $650 promotion
- two lenses camera with portrait mode (coming)
- 1 hour extra battery life
- solid home button, more durable and water resistance
- A10 quad-core
- 3GB of RAM
- faster and more accurate touchID, working great with sweat fingers.
- water resistance, piece of mind when bring iphone near pool, beach, etc.
- best LCD screen ever rated

i compared it to a 6 and there was an obvious difference. noticed it right away. i am totally fine with current ppi as i dont want performance to suffer for a higher resolution display on a 5.5 inch screen. sure i would have wished an amoled display but im totally fine with the improvements. its not all about resolution...

I know it's not all about resolution. It's truly not. There's plenty of things that goes into a display.

However between a 6s Plus and an iPhone 7 I just didn't notice a huge difference. I'm not saying it's not there because I know it is, but it's not lifechanging or mind blowing by any means

Well ... let me tell you what I did... I had an iPhone 7 which I upgraded from an iPhone SE. Which I got that when I gave my fiancée my 6s Plus back in April. So after going from april to September I realized I wanted my bigger screen ... so I got the iPhone 7 and kept it a few days and I honestly decided the upgrade wasn't worth it ... I went back to my SE UNTIL Wednesday when a coworker of mine sold his iPhone 6s Plus to me for LESS THAN $200.

Now I have a 6s Plus that I can hold until September when the real "upgrade" comes and an iPhone SE that I can sale for MORE THAN the $200 that I paid for the 6s Plus.

I have no remorse and haven't thought of an iPhone 7 since... this will be the first year since the iPhone 4 that I haven't upgraded.

My silver 6s Plus for free is doing me QUITE WELL.
[doublepost=1474759060][/doublepost]If anyone in this thread would be honest with themselves then they would realize the iPhone 7 is not much of an upgrade at all.

Apple phoned this year in to look forward to next year.

I had the iPhone 7 so I know by experience and I seen the boot ups compared to the 6s In person with my fiancée's 6s Plus.

I realize the A10 is a masterful mobile chip, but the A9 is no slouch.

The iPhone 7 is not an essential upgrade for iPhone 6s users the way that the 6s was for 6 users or the way the 6 was for 5s users.

iPhone 7 is great don't get me wrong, but actin like an iPhone 6s or 6s Plus is trash now just because the 7.released is not only untrue, but ludicrous. They're BOTH great phones and honestly the 7 isn't worth an upgrade if you have an iPhone 6s or even an SE FOR THAT MATTER

iphone 5 SE is not even in the same league.

The 6+ was terrible really, apart from the fantastic battery life and awesome loudspeaker it was my worst iPhone experience to date. Aside from water resistance that most folks won't ever need, you would have found the same massive improvements going from your 6+ to a 6S+. Sure the non-mechanical home button is nice but that alone isn't worth the upgrade fee. Apple truly hit a home run with the 6S/6S+ and the new i7 isn't really anything special. I'm hoping for something genuinely refreshing next year.
I can't honestly recommend the new iPhone 7 for 6S owners because it just doesn't offer any 'wow' factor.

i hate commenting on threads like these because people get so sensitive and hurt but these are my 2 cents. Glad the OP is happy with the decision he made, to each their own. I really thought the 6 Plus was far better than the 6S plus. I had both and i hated my 6S Plus. Mainly the battery life, it was trash IMO even while taking the necessary steps to maximize battery life. I know that isn't the end-all be-all to phones but for me, battery is a huge priority.

With the 7 Plus I'm getting 8+ hours of heavy usage on my battery. When I leave work at 5 PM i still have anywhere between 20-25% of battery left.

don't need water resistance? you are kidding right? if your iphone 6+ gets dropped in the water, there goes your $800.

many time I left my phone at home when I went to the pool, beach, water park because I know that I might drop $800 phone in the water. Apple won't cover water damage, and that is the first thing they check when you bring a phone in.

Now I can bring iphone 7 near water with peace of mind, which means alot. I end up using my iphone more because of this.

Secondly, if you take alot of pictures and not have to carry extra DSLR and lenses, iphone 7 + would be a welcome upgrade. more pictures than no pictures. Especially one with dual lenses and portrait mode.

iphone 5 SE is not even in the same league.

What does an iPhone "5 SE" have to do with anything?

Number one there's no such phone.
Number 2 what exactly makes an SE not in the same "league." And what exactly is this "league" all about. What exactly is in this "league?" Does anything win from this "league?" Or is it just a "league?"

Seriously though if an iPhone "5 SE" has the CPU of the 6s then yes it's in the league so to speak ...

The iPhone 7 is not a major upgrade from an iPhone 6s Plus that's the point and the only point of this thread.

Like I said I've been having iPhones for a very long time never have I thought of them as any kind of league, but the iPhone "5 SE" is no slouch as far as performance goes.

Most people doesn't need water resistance bro. You can take your phone to a pool to the bathroom while your taking a shower without it being water proof or water resistance and not have to worry. Most people doesn't want to put there phones in a bowl of water or in the toilet or take a shower with it.

Is it a cool feature??? Yes, but most people doesn't need it.

Also you or anyone else can try and defend the iPhone 7 as if it this HUGE upgrade to the iPhone 6s Plus, but it's not and it's Apple's way of trying to hold people over until 2017. It's a "refinement" on an already tired design. This is just the second time Apple has used the same design 3 years in a row and they decided to do it with this design?

The only way you improve the display is by offering wider color gamut? Really. I mean the 750p screen of the 6s was already outdated now it's even more outdated. However why would they introduce really cool and good display technologies when they have MUCH MUCH BIGGER plans in less then a year.

This iPhone is so that Apple can have year over year sales declines again only to come back and sale many more of the next iPhone so that they can get out of this "slump."

are you trying to be smart with your tiny phone? we all know that it is iphone 5.

iphone 5 SE is not even in apple yearly release schedule, every Sep. hence it is a side kick. something to fulfill the niche market. it costs half of iphone 6/7. to compare 5 SE with iphone 7 is like comparing Corola to BMW.

Sometimes when a person makes too much sense on this forum it pisses people off. You're truly making WAYYY TOO MUCH SENSE for them right now.

What my precious iPhone 7 isn't that much of an upgrade??? Oh no Apple lied to me. Yes they lied to you because they want you to get the 7 only to turn around and just have to have that new iPhone in 2017 that will be a game changer.

Come on people. Months ago everyone was so upset because this iPhone 7 wasn't much of an upgrade and we knew it before it was announced... now that it's out and all the leaks were true that it truly isn't much of an upgrade ... people want to act like it's some huge upgrade to an iPhone 6s??? No it truly is not a HUGE UPGRADE!!!

The SE was to fill of niche?? What's the iPhone 7? It's nothing but a fill in for the main event that's In 2017.

Again I HAVE AN IPHONE 6s Plus in case you can't read along with many other phones. If I wanted to use an SE I would.

Also do you know the SE will not be updated this year? Do you work for Apple too?

I'm not speaking for anyone!! Do you work for Apple? Since you act like you do!

You don't even know the name of the phones. What's a 5se . Something you dreamed? It had to be.

Now that you have an iPhone 7 that means it must be miles better then a 6s Plus?

You know how easy it is for people like you to talk that crap when you're on an Internet forum?? You obviously do

Year over year sales decline??? Really?? Apple is in the midst of year over year sales declines right now. It's 3 quarters In a row now...

That's year over year decline

reading comprehension? that was what you said. yet I asked for proof of year over year decline for iphone. do you have proof?

Google it. Theyve been having year over year decline since q1 16.

I'm talking about since the beginning of this year. No one has any sales figures in iPhone 7 yet. We don't yet if iPhone 7 will outsell iPhone 6s. What we do know is that the iPhone has been in the midst of sales declines since the beginning of this year and that it is projected to carry over into next year.

This marginal upgrade that is the iPhone 7 isn't going to help already slumping sales bro

sorry but you did not know what you are talking about. "beginning of this year" is NOT year over year declines. you are spreading misinformation to others.

still want to google for it?
