I lol'ed. I thought the same too but figured since I'm not a parent I couldn't possibly understand parenting. /sarcasm

That's the reason that I put the presign forms on my door. Fortunately, I wasn't in the restroom or otherwise distracted when Fedex arrived because the driver wasn't going to leave them: he saw the forms and had his doortags ready to post when I opened the door.
I accepted the delivery, thanked the driver, opened my packages, and then boycotted Fedex on the spot. I've been boycotting them since about 2:00 pm Friday, and I've just ceased my boycott: I think I've made my point.
Fedex can be a little sketch at times with the whole presigned thing. I did it for a macbook air and the driver left it with a neighbor. Luckily i got home in time and got it from the neihbor because the driver showed p a few minutes later demanding the package back :0. He said he wasnt allowed to deliver it or something and he needed it back i said too late i already opened it. He said alright well if an investigator shows up your going to have to prove that it is yours. I said ok! It was all a litle sketchy but i guess i can see it if he was concerned it was some sort of scam. Long story short NEVER presign just have it held at the fedex location and go pick it up there, MUCH less hassle thats what i did with my 2 ipad 3's
I hope FedEx does better than 99%. Given that they deliver 3.1M packages per day, a 1% error rate would be 31K problems daily.

I call it lazy driver syndrome. FedEx delivered my smart cover and UPS delivered my iPad3. My FedEx driver left a tag on the mailbox two days in a row and checked the "no one was home" option, even though we were home both times, and I had signed delivery notices on my door. I had to sign the tag and leave it on the mailbox and then he left the smart cover hanging on the mailbox the third day. Pathetic. I have a long driveway, since I live on some acreage. I think he just didn't want to take the time to get out and deliver it. My UPS driver comes down the drive and to my door because he actually does his job properly. It am planning to call FedEx and let them know what it going on, just to be fair to them. I suggest you do the same.
Make sure to check in the bushes around your house. Fedex regularly leaves my packages into the bushes next to my garage. I only discovered they were doing it when I was taking my dog for a walk a few months ago and found a little pile of them. Luckily I grabbed my dog before he peed on them. I've called them and that basically goes nowhere. I don't ship with Fedex unless I have to. I made a sign ("Don't leave packages here, put them on my porch") and placed it in the ground near where they were putting them but it went ignored. The porch is only 8ft away, but after climbing my long driveway they probably get pissed off or pressed for time and just dump them. The only time they go to my door is when they need a signature.
I've been boycotting FedEx for 3 years. Ever since their drivers were responsible for the death of a total of 6 of our pups on 3 different occasions. the last time, we took them to court and sued for the 4 deaths they were responsible for. Now they are no longer allowed on our property and any online company I order from, that cannot use UPS, loses our business.
