Just did this with Camera+ on my 3GS real quick to test it out:

I apologize deeply if this has already been discussed, but is anyone else having problems with camera+ locking up their phone? I've had it freeze up on me twice now, and I've had to force shut down my phone. (I have an iPhone 4, with IOS 4.0.1)

I believe someone weighed in a page or two back and said that Camera+ is buggy with v 4.01 and not to upgrade yet. Might be the same issue with Hipstamatic, I have not updated to the new firmware yet. No issues with iOS 4.0

I had this happen maybe once, but I didn't have to completely restart the phone, just the app. I've had more issues with Hipstamatic suddenly quitting to the home screen every 5-6 shots or so. Pretty annoying crash issues there.

I've had a few issues with hipstamatic as well. But when camera+ freezes on me, it completley locks up my phone. I can't get out of the app, or even lock the phone. Weird. Hopefully they'll release an update soon.

One more from today...Shot and processed in Camera+.

A couple of people messaged me wanting to see the other versions/steps of my oranges photo, so I made this little step by step guide in case any one else is curious. The oranges by the way were shot at Jamba Juice:

Love this, genshi, thanks for the step by step on what you used!

First shot with Pano and still need practice stitching. You gotta love the iPhone 4... I got Runkeeper tracking my ride and then I'm snapping pics at the same time. Cool

Personally I'm a huge fan of Camera+. Last week I spent an hour walking around the office at the Dana Point harbor taking pics with the app. All the pics were taken for a demo of new Tumblr mobile photo blog theme so I have them all up at - http://inspirewell-photo.tumblr.com/

For the processing I kept it pretty simple. I either set the image to auto or beach and then applied a cross processed look. The combination of the two managed to warm up the gloomy summer day.

Camera+ has motivated me to keep up a somewhat regular photo blog.

I like this little guy. Camera+

The reason I like the default app on my main page and tuck Camera+ away is becaues the default app automatically opens in image capture mode (camera+ requires you open the app then tap the camera button)...

Anyone else feel the same way when it comes to your default app vs camera+?

That's how I felt at first, but since Camera+ supports fast app switching, if you leave the app when it's on image capture mode, it'll be there when you open it back up again.

Also, I noticed that Camera+ doesn't tap to focus when using the front camera, but oddly, it can do the two finger focus. Hmmm.

It allows you to take pictures in it with different filters/settings.

The filters/settings are defined as different 'cameras' (available as in-app purchases at 99 cents if you want more than the default free ones) as well as different films (again, in-app purchases unless you enjoy the free) AND in-app purchases of diferrerent flashes.

I don't want to know how much I spent for the app, every damn available film, flash, and camera...but I bought them all. It's just a great app.

I just HATE how when you're shooting the camera you can never get the full-camera view, only the viewfinder. when you can't see exactly what you're shooting it makes it hard to know the effect you are going to get. I really really really really hate that, sometimes to the point I want to complain to the developer. lol

I'll have to think about trying it.

After hearing so much about Hipstamatic, I bought it a couple of days ago and have been using it none stop! In fact, I had originally vowed I would never use an app that would "fake" the Holga look, being the Holga purist (snob) that I am... But after playing with Hipstamatic, I've just been having way too much fun and I fear my Holgas and Polaroid cameras will be collecting a lot of dust from now on! The immediacy and [shake to] randomness of the app just makes it a complete joy to use.

That being said, after hearing all of you going on about Camera+, I decided to purchase it to see if I could recreate one of my favorite Hipstamatic shots... though it took more work (adding effects, saving, reopening to add more effects and border, etc.) I think I did get better results with the Camera+ app. The sheer fun/immediacy isn't the same as with the Hipstamatic app, but it's definitely a powerful little app with more control (and all of these apps are so cheap, how can anyone not get them all!?)

So I'll let you decide, which shot do you prefer? The top one (Hipstamatic) or the bottom one (Camera+)

Other camera apps I've been using, "QuadCamera" (really fun and can make animated gifs from your sequential shots) "Pic Grunger" (simple but powerful app that allows you to add scratches, acid spills, sponge smearing, etc.) and "TiltShiftGen".

I also got Colorsplash and Camerabag but haven't really used them more than once each. I'm also waiting for Swankolab to be updated for iPhone 4, then I will purchase that as well.

I like them both a lot! As mentioned, give Pic Grunger a try as well.

Also what is that actually a shot of? Makes for a powerful photo but I have no clue what that thing is

The apps i like to use are Camera Bag, True HDR and autostich.

This thread convinced me to buy the Camera+ app, which I didn't have any idea could make my pictures this awesome, my friends that saw them online had no clue they were taken with my phone... All around very impressive. So cool. Thanks for posting all of these!

Love the Pic! Glad to see some Pano shots on here. Check out CycleTracks for a free route/time/distance tracker for your rides. Use it all the time.

Here's another. This is nothing to write home about but you can see the potential of apps like Pano and the iPhone.

I couldn't get it to stich the exposure together better but I think a lot had to do with my alignment. It was really bright out and I couldn't see the overlay guides in Pano.
