Also, I keep seeing mentions of adding layers in camera+.. how do you do that?

For the an example that addresses your question see here (you need to apply the effect, save it and then reimport that new saved photo into Camera+ to apply another effect.)

i didn't know that exposure had to do with color, i thought it had to do with light. How did that one person who took a picture of their son get the background to be so out of focus with the baby in focus. Is that dealing with the exposure?

It doesn't have anything at all to do with color. You are correct, it has to do with light. For example, if you have a light colored object and you expose the picture for that object, anything dark in the picture will have little to no detail. You had to take the picture at a quick shutter speed, so not much light was able to get to the sensor and expose the dark areas. The opposite is true if you expose for a dark area of the image. The whites will be "blown out" and be just plain white with no detail.
This can be used with great effect depending on what you are going for.

As for focus, that is where you get into depth of field. Images in foreground or background are focused and the others are not. You can create this effect with Camera+ by focusing on the subject you want shown clearly. The greater the distance between the image and background/foreground, the more pronounced the effect will be.

Quick question...

What, do you guys think, is the best app for the Fisheye camera lens/effect?

Thanks in advanced :)

Does anyone have this issue with Hipstamatic?

On my iPhone 3G when the subject is centered in the frame, it comes out exactly how it looks. However, on my iPhone 4 when my subject is centered in the frame the photo will sometimes show the subject off-center (usually towards the upper left). Is this a bug with 4.0.1? Are my hands that shaky? Is something wrong w/ the app? If anyone has experienced this issue let me know!

yeah but sometimes light conditions are less than ideal. Night time shots where there are street lights and lots of orange colors can be cooled quickly in an application like camera+ by cooling down the overall color temperature.

Camera+ has been getting a lot of love in this thread and deservedly so, but there are a lot of good apps out there that can apply cooling filters. I would suggest Photo FX for those who like applying filters to photos.

Here are a few contributions from me :)

All done solely in Hipstamatic.

Also downloaded PictureShow - genius recommended it to me based on Hipstamatic, and it had good reviews so i picked it up. Its definitely more versatile than Hipstamatic, but I just don't see myself using it, not nearly as much fun.

It's not an issue. It's a a feature to simulate the unpredictability of those type of "Lo-Fi" cameras (Holgas, etc.) It can be changed in the iPhone 4's main settings under Hipstamatic>Viewfinder Mode> then switch from "Classic" to "Precision Framing".

Hope that helps.

THANK YOU! I would've never figured this out myself!

Just bought Hipstamatic and a few of the filters/films/flashes... figure why not. I will say it is a cool app to get some interesting shots but Camera+ is definitely a lot more useful and better. So if you can only have one get Camera+. If you can get both why not?

is HDR Pro hard to use? Is it hard to take two pictures without moving the camera at all?

I really like these! What lens/flash/frame did you use for the picture of the girl and the drain?
