Considering getting hipstamatic now since I've been having fun with camera+. Is it worth it since it would end up costing quite a bit more for all of the add ons (reminds me of DLC for 360 and PS3 games)?

This is a great thread. I went ahead and made a photo group on Flickr for everyone to add their iPhone and Camera+ (I guess any iPhone app also) photos to and share with everyone.

I have been using this app for a while now along with some other apps on my iPad to do all of my photo editing on these mobile devices. Check out my pictures that are already in the group that I have taken and there are many more to come.

I am thinking about going out tonight and catching some pictures of an old barn at sunset. I will post the pictures later to the group. Thanks.

No. You can select lenses, film types, and flashes in different combos and take pics to apply the effects. No post production whatsoever.

I have taken some great shots tonight and am working in post right now (iPhone Camera+ and iPad apps). I should have the pictures posted in the group in a few.

I'm hoping it was just an oversight that 4.1 will correct, but I haven't had a chance to check out the betas.

Be careful when you do because, at least right now, Camera+ does not work with iOS 4.1.

Decided to give hipstamatic a go as well. Question about it, can you turn the sound off? I appreciate the effort with all of the sound FX but I would like to be able to mute them without silencing my phone all together.

Hipstamatic vs. Camera+

After hearing so much about Hipstamatic, I bought it a couple of days ago and have been using it none stop! In fact, I had originally vowed I would never use an app that would "fake" the Holga look, being the Holga purist (snob) that I am... But after playing with Hipstamatic, I've just been having way too much fun and I fear my Holgas and Polaroid cameras will be collecting a lot of dust from now on! The immediacy and [shake to] randomness of the app just makes it a complete joy to use.

That being said, after hearing all of you going on about Camera+, I decided to purchase it to see if I could recreate one of my favorite Hipstamatic shots... though it took more work (adding effects, saving, reopening to add more effects and border, etc.) I think I did get better results with the Camera+ app. The sheer fun/immediacy isn't the same as with the Hipstamatic app, but it's definitely a powerful little app with more control (and all of these apps are so cheap, how can anyone not get them all!?)

So I'll let you decide, which shot do you prefer? The top one (Hipstamatic) or the bottom one (Camera+)

Other camera apps I've been using, "QuadCamera" (really fun and can make animated gifs from your sequential shots) "Pic Grunger" (simple but powerful app that allows you to add scratches, acid spills, sponge smearing, etc.) and "TiltShiftGen".

I also got Colorsplash and Camerabag but haven't really used them more than once each. I'm also waiting for Swankolab to be updated for iPhone 4, then I will purchase that as well.
