I'm a big fan of Camera+ lately, however I can't figure out why 3rd party camera apps still seem to be unable to save EXIF (and GPS?) data to the Camera Roll?
I see that Camera+ will save EXIF data on a photo uploaded to Flickr, but not if it's saved to the camera roll. Is this still an Apple limitation? I thought iOS4 was going to totally open up the Camera API. Haven't been able to get a straight answer.
Here's a shot I took and processed solely in Camera+ recently on my 3GS:

Can't wait to pickup an iPhone 4 when it's released here in Canada on Friday and seeing what I can do with it's camera.
It's nowhere as good as the one's I've seen in this thread, but I thought I'd give the new Camera+ update a try at the store and I'm pretty happy with the result:
My iPhone 4 photos
You will be surprise how well these came out for a cell phone.
Within the years we are going to see the new generation iPhones to replace you pocket camera. I'm getting on the boat on using my iPhone as a stand alone camera with this generation iPhone and the next.
I use Camera +, TiltShift (not TiltShift Generator), Color Splash. Uploaded using Flickr app, or through Camera + app.
Check them out!

How in the world did you do that??????
Glad I finally checked in on this thread. I had been thinking of purchasing camera+ since it was on sale and after looking at lots of great examples I just bought it. I will report back if I get any good shots.

It's an Apple limitation, even in iOS4. I'm an iPhone developer and I looked into it. There is no way to save EXIF data into pictures sent to the Camera Roll using the public APIs. Hipstamatic does the same thing... it keeps EXIF data internally, but it gets stripped when exporting to the camera roll.
This angers me deeply, as developers have been asking for this for years and Apple does nothing. It really cripples just about every photo app... you can either choose to have your EXIF information make it onto your computer by using only the built-in camera, you can use a third-party photo app which strips it, or you can painstakingly email your EXIF-enabled images to yourself from the third party apps that support that and put them onto your computer manually.
I'm thinking about writing a jailbreak app (once the iPhone4 is jailbroken) to rip these images from the bundles of the apps I use and force them into the camera roll so they can be synced. It's absolutely ridiculous that this isn't supported.
I rather buy a point in shoot camera. There is no camera on any smartphone worth buying the phone for. Take pics of a lot of white stuff an you'll see green **** on the screen. I would love to see a phone that takes better pics then a point in shoot.
^ Umm... do you have a Steve Jobs "baseball" card in one of those fancy protective display cases?!? LOL
