Why's he gotta be white?!?!?

My question exactly. Race baiting like that that does more harm to the boards than good, especially when RoastingPig is just guessing on the race.

If people start injecting race and politics into every article, every article will have that 100-post minimum and the message board will stagnate.

When it gets this close to a new release, AT&T apparently doesn't quibble over a few days.

AT&T was offering early upgrades as early as 20 months into your 24-month contract. I read they were planning to wait a bit longer, but they have been offering me an upgrade and new contract for at least the past month.

I think Verizon does the same thing. They want to give you the "opportunity" to lock in a new contract before your existing contract expires, and not risk losing you to another service provider.

However, I'm planning to buy an unlocked iPhone 6 from Apple, and pay cash. I'm already getting the "no contract" device fee ($15/month) and I will save money over the 2 year period.

Yes, AT&T Next is effectively same as cash, but you still get a locked phone. I want to be able to swap out the SIM for a local number in Europe.

Wow... not sure if this is impressive or crazy.

Still, in the spirit of adventure it would be kind of fun to just sit and chill with some friends. I work too much!

Blind devotion to the brand without even knowing what the features are. Apple logo.. Sold. Smh

As a self-admitted Apple "fanboy," stuff like this just makes me facepalm. Just more ammunition for the other side...

Read the Contract

Based on past timelines, the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 could become available beginning on Friday, September 19.

This is awful for all of us who bought the iPhone 5 on Sept. 21, 2012 and are on a two-year contract.

Not really. All 2 year contracts allow you to upgrade within 1-2 months before contract expires.

Well, they’re getting press coverage in a bunch of places, so I guess it’s working out for them pretty well.

going to look like idiots if the 60-70 million iPhones rumored to being produced are available. Apple knows they need to have as much on hand supply as possible. The days of camping are now for what?

Everyone would be better off if Apple were to increase the price of the iPhone for the first 2-3 weeks. The phones would go to the people who value them the most, instead of by luck or first-come first-serve. And the profit that resellers make would instead go to Apple, the ones who deserve it. But of course "gouging" doesn't sit well with people.

As a self-admitted Apple "fanboy", I am much more embarrassed by how many Apple fans here are not able to read the article.

...And I'll laugh my ass off when they've been sitting in line for 6 days only to find out that the iPhone 6 won't be released until October! HHAHAHA!!!

I assume this was launch day. That's when I got mine. I checked my upgrade eligibility with AT&T a while ago and it said 9/15/14. If you check now, it just tells you you're eligible for a NEXT upgrade now, with no mention of a date.

[UPDATE] Checking the upgrade eligibility on Apple.com, it says I'm eligible right now. (I wouldn't have believed that AT&T would be so stupid as to make the day-one adopters ineligible at launch.)

I just have to throw in another reason to do it, besides really wanting the phone and publicity. I'd do it (not this early) for fun with a few friends. I don't think I'd do it more than once, but it would be a fun experience and it would be kind of cool to say "Yeah, I've done that."

I upgraded to the 5S last year with AT&T and bestbuy looked it up and I have another upgrade already. I'm not complaining though!

All the more a source of "pride" by being difficult and uncomfortable, I suppose. (Like being a bike messenger maybe?)
Been a bike messenger for 3 years I can say, most of 'us' evolve over time... but you'll never stop being an annoying road hog for 'others'. Cycling is art and the streets & alleys are our canvas. Ah maybe your right.

...

Hope they have sun block. Geez, that's a crazy long time to wait. If I needed the iPhone 6 badly, I would have set my alarm and pre-ordered online when they go on sale.

I'll wait a couple of hours to see a movie, but not much else. :D
