as cool as it would be to get an early upgrade att will not do it sadly they dont have the power no matter how much you bitch. While they MAY bea able to do it for other phone with the iphone it just doesnt happen best of luck though.

when did ATT state that they changed this? I see that my date is in May 2013 which is 19 months....so it moved a little....

I don't understand why people sign a contract for a commitment of 24 months and accept a phone at much less than retail for that commitment of time and then expect ANOTHER subsidized phone a year later because they no longer have the coolest gadget. If they provided you cell phone service for 24mos uninterrupted, they held up their end of the bargain. How hard is it to hold up your end? Do what the NFL players do, hold out. Don't send them in your money and see how far that gets you.

You damned lawyers and your contract trying to keep the 99% down!

Lol, I kid, I kid.

There's an alternate approach. Why not just open another line? Sure it's an extra $30, but you get a subsidized phone. Pick your poison. ATT DOES have sim cards.

I plan on doing that with the Galaxy NOTE 2. Just open another line, but use my own sim card. TADA! Loophole.

Thats not entirely accurate.
I still get upgrades much more frequently due to my FAN and revenue.

It's not because of the revenue.
Not sure about your particular fan but according to you are the exception.

Everyone is may 2013. And hasn't moved at all.

blah blah blah for some of us this is our 6th iphone and we have always been able to update a year later. so yes in theory your right but why change it now? I always looked at it as im not going anywhere and i lock myself in every year to get the latest phone its a win for both parties.....until att decided to get greedy.

But. ATT isn't making money if you can do that every year.

sure they are. im constantly locked in for 2 years and I pay like $200 a month. their making money. instead now we get the bitch tax. im tempted to just pay outright for the phone atleast then it will be unlocked and i can get the full upgrade next year and sell the unlocked one for more. but its pretty much $200 more this year or $200 more next year.

I'm not sure why people feel entitled to early upgrade availability; you signed a 2 year contract, they can do whatever they with it.

Speak to whoever you want.
Your account revenue plays no role any more. AT&T has changed that so no matter if you pay a $500 bill every month you will still have to wait 20 months to get a full upgrade.

My experience differs. I've been getting full upgrade discounts each & every year.

Perhaps it's my 12 years of loyalty that counts.

Who knows?

But I've enjoyed new iPhones at each & every release.

Yet this year I'm saving my upgrade for a Windows Phone in Q4, since I have no interest in the next iPhone.

The sense of entitlement in todays youth is mind numbing. ATT decided to get greedy? By adhering to the terms they should have never bent on?

I been a loyal customer since 1998 too.
No dice.
Every year I was also getting yearly upgrades, not no more.
I guess you are the 1 in a million they still somehow allow yearly full upgrades.

Perhaps it's the six lines I have. I refrained from mentioning it earlier, not bragging, just a complete mobile addict that buys many unlocked phones direct from a distributor in Hong Kong. GSM phones / smartphones of all brands that are often domestic market models, not destined for the USA.

Not too much different than my Mac Laptop addiction :D

I'm thinking in the end, AT&T is going to do some kind of deal for launch day 4S buyers. Don't they want record numbers? This isn't 2009. People have choices now. I hope they're cognizant of that and I'm sure they are. I wouldn't like to move from AT&T. I like them.

I talked to a supervisor yesterday and they said a manager had to do an override last year. NOT TRUE!!!!!!!! It pisses me off.

You sound like a little kid who isn't getting what he/she wants.
It hasn't come to any threats about cutting yet, so I think there's still room to go before we hit kid level. :)

I want to strangle AT&T.
LMFAO.

Okay so my order has had so many problems.

I actually ordered on 10/7 at 5 AM

and it says I ordered on 10/8 and it's backordered.

I called and it said shipments are going out on 10/14

IF I DON'T GET THE PHONE ON 10/14 or 10/15 I SWEAR TO GOD I WILL CUT A BITCH.

but they did bend on them. 5 years in a row. so why shouldn't people expect it? That was the deal for 5 years spend x amount monthly during the year and get the new iphone when it came out. it was a good system. now i'm tempted to strip my bill down as cheap as possible since it doesn't benefit me for an early upgrade.

Or go to Verizon. It'll save you a little bit of money in the end but they're even more strict with upgrades.
