There is no shortage of videos and MR articles about the disappointment of Apple Intelligence, especially with the delay of smart Siri for an unknown date (maybe even after iOS19).

Does this mean iPhone 16 owners can return their phones on the grounds of having a key feature cancelled? I’m talking outside of the 14 day usual Apple Store return window..
No. If you got a problem, you're going to need a lawyer who thinks they can get a big settlement thus work for free for a sizable chunk of the settlement on the backend.

It is customers like yourself that enable companies to ship incomplete software with promissory notes for features with no deadline.

No, you cannot return it. You will get upgraded software when it is released with a software update sometime in the future.

Don’t buy something that isn’t ready. It blows my mind that people buy **** just to buy ****.

Major slippage like this is always the customers fault. People need to put their wallets away until these situations end.

I have to agree with something that tech YouTuber Marques Brownlee often says: never buy a device based on what it's promised to be able to do later.

I’m quite optimistic, after all, Siri is a mature technology, and Apple’s AI features have already matured as well. Recently, the new iPad series models have all been equipped with this functionality. So, stay tuned!

Never buy a product for what might happen. Always buy for what it can already do. And no, you can't return because the software is delayed.

People need to read the EULA instead of just blindly agreeing. Doing that would have answered the question without the thread.
Where have we learned this lesson before oh pre-ordering video games you’re paying for an incomplete product why should they finish?

Surely you have read the whole license agreement before buying the iPhone…

iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 Software License Agreement mentions:

“The Apple Software Changes, if any, may not necessarily include all existing software features or new features that Apple releases for newer or other models of Devices.”

I'm not an attorney, but expect a class action law suit. They promised something that they didn't have and now have taken it back (sort of). False advertising.

They said it would come later - they didn't specify a date. The phone ships with Apple Intellegence ready to use, features can be withdrawn or added at their descretion.

As mentioned above your reply it states: “The Apple Software Changes, if any, may not necessarily include all existing software features or new features that Apple releases for newer or other models of Devices.”

Apple can do whatever they want with their software.

This is 100x worse than the Apple Maps fiasco in which the future of Apple leadership was fired. Tim has had his time and milked the cash cow for all its worth. He has led AAPL down a path with no innovation, lagging all competition, hardware dominance, but software stagnation and outright failure. The board should give him his golden parachute and set him on his way and find a real innovator for the future of Apple. Someone who understands possibilities, who has an imagination, and a little bit more financial awareness than Steve. Someone who’s almost like Steve, which there are few, but who understands it’s a for-profit corporation and AAPL needs to be important. Steve cared about the customers. Tim only cares about the shareholders - mostly his own shares. Would be nice to have a founder type of leader who is building the future not living in the past.

I believe Apple will need to pay at least $300 per iPhone 16 model sold with the promises that failed to fruition due to it not even being real. I mean Jon Gruber said it best when he mentioned it’s all BS. What Apple needs to do is fire Tim, correct the wrongness by giving people 30 days to return any iPhone 16 model or iPhone 15 Pro model that was sold since Apple stated AI would work on these devices. People who bought an iPhone 15 Pro before the AI features were announced and advertised with 16 and 15 Pro models as built for Apple Intelligence with ads like the Bella Ramsey ad, should be entitled to a full and complete refund. Additionally, Apple could offer you keep your iPhone and get a $300 cash return due to the failures and downright lies by Apple executives.

All of this could have been avoided with a leader like Steve who wouldn’t have spent $25B on an Apple Car project or Vision Pro that isn’t ready for consumers. A leader who understands technology and where it’s headed. Instead, AAPL has a bean counter in the lead seat which is only good for shareholders. It’s been a disaster for consumers, employees, and any other stakeholders involved other than the shareholders.
Do you actually think Steve didn’t spend lots of money on prototypes that never came to fruition?

They can do whatever they want. But when they announce something the doesn't yet exist, that's called false advertising. That's what they did with the 16e ads.

It's not though is it?! What did they advertise and not deliver? Where have they stated new features were due with the device that weren't on it at launch?

It was sold with the title of "Built for Apple Intelligence" meaning it is future proof for WHEN they have more features available to add. It has Apple Intellegence already on the device and working, it may not be as good as people expected or wanted, but it is there.

Everything listed on the product page in relation to A.I it can do... https://www.apple.com/uk/iphone-16e/

The feature isn’t even coming until when people could have waited and purchased an iPhone 17 instead…. LIES LIES LIES. Tim is all about the shareholders and the lies are coming through as we speak… Have been for years. Failure, stagnation, and greed lead Apple now.
The 16s were sold as "built for AI", not "built for improved Siri by first quarter 2025", and they have received AI features.

Apple shareholders probably think that. Tim probably thinks that. Anyone who knows false advertising recognizes exactly what Apple did. People should be fired. Cook should resign.
The 16s have AI features, and Apple said the rest are coming.

The Internet - I dont care about Apple Intelligence!
Also the Internet - AI features are taking too long! *rabble rabble*

You're probably still upset about AirPower being cancelled.

No one will be fired, and Tim Cook certainly won't be resigning and why should he? He's lead Apple to the trillion dollar company they are today. Apple Intellegence was advertised, and was delivered. No false advertising.

Absolutely not. Did Steve ever do anything like Tim? No. Steve was a visionary.
Steve Jobs was not without fault, don't try to make out he could do no wrong. He also hand picked Tim Cook and told him to run the company HIS way, which is what he has done.

It's only false advertising if it isn't delivered, which it has been, and will be improved over time. It's delayed, people are going on like it's been cancelled!

Guy, major announcement, sorry, It was all my fault that Siri got delayed…

Sorry about that. ☹️

“Built for Apple Intelligence” gives me flashbacks.. to these ⚡️🌨️

Like I said, I'm not an attorney. But I think they'll be sued.

Exactly. I recently bought a 16 Pro. I bought it for all the useful features I wanted, not Apple Intelligence. I knew it as a new, developing technology and thought at least I have a compatible device when it comes. So in the end I am happy because I got what I expected. So simple.
