So, I already have an iPhone, so Rogers data plans would have to be very compelling in order for me to purchase the 3G iphone. This is particularly important as the iphone is becoming even more webified with GPS, Locate me Services, mobileme.com etc.
Rogers is probably going to try and stick their old pricing models on this phone and its not going to work. They would be smart to offer unlimited data and make their money in other ways. For example, they could do a deal with a vendor for iPhone apps where the customer would pay a certain amount per application. They could do deals for location based advertising, so if you are searching for shoes, sites that come up have paid a small piece to Rogers.
Sadly, I don't think this will happen, as the suits dont get paid to innovate, especially if they dont have to.
