I hope there will be the Pay as you go plan like in the UK.(probably won't be happening )
does anyone know if we'll be able to use the GPS on the iphone without needing a data plan?? that'd be awesome. :0
There is no Pay as You Go in Canada
No...you need the data to download maps which shows the GPS information

Good News for Data
BELL has a new Unlimitted Data plan for its BB and WM only $30 dollars
Thus..rogers will have to do $30 dollars or less
Really, so by owning do you mean charging you for a service you don't have? Or charging you for long distance when it isn't? Or having pathetic customer support? Or having overpriced data plans? Or lying to you over the phone? Yeah, Rogers really owns.
Again, keeping in mind that reps are usually wrong. It's my impression that even if you have a contract you can just re-sign when you buy a new phone... it doesn't add together (like if you have 2 years left and the iphone is a 3 year you won't have a 5 year agree) but instead if just starts a new 3 year period from your sign date.

So when I go to Rogers(existing customer) and buy the iPhone will it a bea 2 year contract or 3 year?
So, for a data plan, does it include calling minutes too?
Sorry, I'm an actual n00b when it comes to these "data" plans.![]()
That would be your choice.... the longer you sign with them the cheaper the phone is..
So... Like $299 if you sign for 3 years... $549 if you sign for 2 years.
(i just made that number up... just for the example)

1)That being said Tom Tom has commented that they have a working version of their software so wouldnt the iPhones GPS be able to run with the istalled version of Tom Tom and not need to download anything hence no more data charges.
Where did you hear this from? I'd just like to see a source, it would make it that much more believable lol.
