So I guess a majority of the third party apps aren't set up to work on the AW3/watch 0S4 which is why only a handful are working... for now mostly apple apps, uber, and shazzam seem to work on LTE. As far as why SMS still not working? Who knows...
[doublepost=1506455464][/doublepost]
I have a premier account and I pay it... had a few problems initially but now it seems to be okay minus sms.
I would expect the apps to start being updated shortly but who knows what priority the App Owners have, hey they be here trying to get there LTE Watch(s) up and running for a we know!

Did you check the discussion above your quoted post? Have you received the NumberSync complete email and or did you check on the Message setting on your iPhone.

SMS issues on Watch... go to Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding, then choose which devices to allow to send and receive text messages from this iPhone. If you're not using two-factor authentication for your Apple ID, a verification code appears on each of your other devices: enter that code on your iPhone.

No NumberSync email... I have gotten two texts that says its setup and a reminder that its set up. Now I am looking under Settings > Messages and I see nothing that says Text Message Forwarding.

Yes with its own number.
And the correct watch plan. Since you have a Mobile Share account, you want to ask the rep to "Park" the EID and the IMEI from the watch's box on a new plan to be added to your account. This new plan will have a new phone number and the plan that you want is the $10 Unlimited Wearable Mobile share XXXX (where xxxx is for example: value).

If they try to move you to another plan or some other crazy thing drop by here and share you story further.

OK that's a good clue as to maybe why your SMS is not working from your Watch. Are you looking at the settings on the iPhone?

Might want to do NumberSync again.

Yeah I found the instructions on how to set it up, but for some reason phone not giving option. I signed out of iCloud and at the top it says use your apple ID for iMessage per instructions. It just signs me in again without giving me the option to hit next and set up text forwarding.

Thanks for the input. Looks like we have 24 lines on the Mobile Share Value Plan 60GB with Rollover Data. I was looking online and the options it gives me for the watch are the following:

Mobile Select Pooled for Wearables on 4G LTE - $10
Mobile Share - Have to sign up for unlimited as the account isn't on that right now, however, limited to 10 lines it looks like.
Voice planes - obviously what I don't want

I might just stop by a corp store to see what can be done.

Well you also might double check that your iPhone has a SMS/MMS Txts include plan. Could they have dropped this from your iPhone plan?

At this point who knows.... chatting with apple to see if they have any ideas.

OK, I don't know of a way to reorder your lines self-service. I would strong recommend that you call again and politely insist that your iPhone number be listed as the "Primary" line.

Well.....now I have gotten further than before. I am now stuck on the "Hang on. We're getting some info from your phone" with the spinning wheel. It has been doing this for the past few minutes. I know this has been mentioned before. Now what do I do?

Ahh, your on a Business Plan, are you the plan manager and are you looking on the Premier Site. This is the link I use

Link: https://www.wireless.att.com/businesscenter/plans/plan-features/numbersync.jsp (the Apple Watch (Cellular Tab).

The plans are listed on the navigation link on the upper left.

I would wait at least 10-15 minutes since you are now farther along.

Hit home button by accident. Tried again, got same error message I’ve been getting.

Hmmm already put my EID in online and I backed out and now it is griping about the EID already having been used and active... Whoops lol. Guess I have no choice but to talk to corp or call in. That's OK though, not in a huge hurry.

What do you mean by "already put my EID in online"?

On the business portal it asks for IMEI and EID of the device when adding it for new service. I had it in my cart at one point and I guess the EID is then activated. I'm guessing it is something they have to reset on their end before I can proceed.

Oh no, you tried BYOD to add your watch? That does not end will. Only one report of someone making it all the way through activation using BYOD.

Your EID and IMEI are locked to a pending BYOD line until the Workflow ends and you receive an email.

Your going to have to start over with the unpair and pair again but this time you should be able to keep any plan that was added. Powercycle both devices and try setup of cellular again.

Yeah that's the only way I saw to do it online. I'm assuming they can fix that at a corp store or by calling in? I'm not terribly concerned or in a huge hurry at this point.

Oh yea they can fix it but often break something else along the way. Just make sure to tell the rep how you were trying to add via the Business portal vs the on iPhone setup and activation. Hey it might still work if it get's through the process before everyone goes home. Did you get any email about you add?

Dave

I thought you also had to turn on text message forwarding on the phone as well, because with my iPads, they won't get text/SMS messages in iMessage unless that's turned on.

Ahh...thank you! This solves a (completely unrelated to the watch) problem I was having! Thanks.

@dave006

Good to know. I still remember the days when SIM cards were getting phased in with Cingular... I had the dual TDMA/GSM Nokia phone... what a treat that was to deal with.

No e-mail yet. I only had it in the shopping cart. I'll have to take a look to see where they are being sent.

I am trying, have to see. I was on chat with a very un-knowledgeable rep, but I did notice as I finished the chat, I had a spinning wheel up where the WiFi/LTE signal is when I was attempting to activate the cellular. I’ll have to try the chat again and see if they could send whatever signal that was again. I don’t have it now.

just a side note.... Apple support has really gone downhill, at least their front line chat reps. They are basically useless.

Just to help everyone playing along with us, there currently 2 things that are impacting the ability to send or receive SMS/MMS Txts from your watch assuming that you have met the basic AT&T requirements. SMS/MMS text messaging requires that your synced smartphone must be powered on so SMS/MMS messages may be forwarded to your watch. iMessage must be enabled and your smartphone must be connected to the AT&T network via either a cellular or Wi-Fi connection. If using a Wi-Fi connection, your smartphone must have Wi-Fi calling activated.

1. Make sure that NumberSync has completed, you will get an email or a text depending on your account settings.

2. Verify that you have Text Message Forwarding on iOS setup correctly.
  1. Go the iPhone’s Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and select “Use your Apple ID for iMessage”.
  2. Enter your Apple ID user name and password. Then iOS allows you to enable iMessage with an email associated with your Apple ID, in addition to your phone number.
  3. Select an email address to enable it and then choose Next.
  4. Go back to the iMessage settings, select Text Message Forwarding.
  5. If you're not using two-factor authentication (You should consider) for your Apple ID, a verification code appears on each of your other devices: enter that code on your iPhone.

Tried... Apple had me log out of iMessage and back in. Now its stuck "Waiting for activation".... I signed back in on my ipad and it activated right away.
