Definitely the 13 Pro - I‘ve never really like the size of my 11 Pro Max, too bulky, not good for one-handed use, and not really necessary for my usage. I only really use my phone as a phone, messaging, handy camera, or as a CarPlay nav/music source, so the larger screen was overkill. For media consumption, I have an iPad 11 Pro at home, and as for the phone-battery, I WFH or am in or near the car, so I rarely get below 70% battery.

I considered the iPhone 12 Pro last year, but the feature disparity with the pro and pro max annoyed me, so I didn’t. This year, there’s no feature compromise (I don’t consider the screen size or battery as such) so the 13 Pro makes perfect sense for me. Of course, YMMV based on usage, so I’m sure there’s many who will benefit from the max over the pro.

I’m editing a lot of pictures on the go and use stuff like Visco so the larger screen with the max is a must. I also love how more immersive games and websites look when taking over the entire screen.

Both the Pro and Pro Max are larger than my current X. I def wanted a bigger screen but I was stuck with that internal debate of which one to get. I have a 6.5” Android phone that I decided to use as sort of a reference for my decision. I ended up ordering the Pro Max. I’m still not certain I want that big of a screen, but I want to give it a try. Same as someone said above… if I feel like it’s too big, I’ll trade it back in for the regular Pro.

Thankfully the features are the same across both the Pro models this year, so it’s not like missing out on anything to switch. Just will have to deal with the delay of the return and waiting to get the replacement model.

I’ve had the max. I do love it! But it doesn’t love me! It hurts my hands, sags my pockets, and awkward at the gym, and in 6-5”… lol
Team 13 Pro! (Unless I change my mind during the night) lol
Yah, for me it's the gym thing too. I go to the gym a lot in the kinds of shorts that have specialized little phone inserts to keep them secure when you're doing anything vigorous, and the XS I have now just fits in them... got the 13 pro even though I'd love to be able to read PDFs and such on the big screen because if I went up to the max I'd be worried about my phone popping out of my pocket all the time.

May I ask where you purchased from for delivery next Friday please? Thanks
I got mine from my network provider. I’ll check it out when it arrives, and, if everything is ok I’ll pay the full balance straight off.

I’m questioning my decision already lol. I’m typing on my iPhone 12 Pro Max right now thinking this is too big, I should have got with the 6.1 13 pro. I’d be questioning my decision either way though.

I'm actually downgrading from the Pro Max to 13 Pro, my lifestyle has changed and the annoyance of having a larger phone has taken its toll especially when at the Gym, wearing shorts, and this was evident when I went to Vegas a few times this year on vacation, phone would fall out of my pocket lol, and it looks like a brick is inside your front pockets too since most of my clothes are fitted. I will miss the extra screen size but I don't really need that anymore since I also pre-ordered the new Mini.

I like to stick with the Pro Max for watching movies/online content etc.
I haven't had an iPad since using the larger sized handsets for several years now. If I had a separate iPad then I'd get the 'normal' sized phone, but the Pro Max size seems to fit my needs and avoids me having to purchase a separate device for online content and movies etc......

About a month ago I was admitted into hospital. It was quite sudden so all I took in with me is some clothes etc and my iPhone 12 Pro Max and my charger. This was when I felt the full benefit of having the max version of the iPhone. The larger display was fantastic for watching TV shows and films, YouTube etc. I used it in the same way I would an iPad. It was the only device I had with me and it served me very well indeed. I didn’t want my family bringing my iPad up to the hospital because of the Covid-19 risk.

I hope no one ever finds themselves in hospital, but being in a similar position where your iPhone is the only device you have on you is when you find out just how useful that larger display is.

The thing about the pro to me its the right size, its not too big and its not too small. When i got a 6 plus it was just way too big and i traded it for a regular 6. The removal of bezels and the home button makes the normal size iPhone perfect for me.

I'm on iPhone 12 Pro and if anything I'd go to the top iPhone 13 Pro Max. I'm currently being burned by the terrible battery life of this phone. I 3D game a lot and paid the price for not waiting on the reviews before hitting pre-order. I remember that article saying 3.5 hours of gaming vs iPhone 11 Pro and this is so true. So I'd make sure I would get the biggest capacity battery which is the Pro Max.

Ask me again in a year. Going from the XS Max to 13 Pro. Ironically, the weight of the 13 Pro is about the same as my XS Max, so not much downsizing there. Even when using the 12 Pro in store and holding my 13 Pro case, it doesn’t really seem much smaller than my XS Max.

My XS Max is pretty comfortable for me most of the time, but when I was trying out the 12 Pro Max in store with no case, I couldn’t even reach my thumb across to the left side of the screen at the bottom without the phone slipping and almost falling out of my hand. The display is so immersive, but that phone is just too big for me. I knew I wanted to downsize a bit when I upgraded anyways, but with how big the Pro Max is now, it almost gave me no choice anyways.

I bought the 12 pro max last year and the battery life hasn’t been great for me on that either.

I think apple messed up last year by lowering the battery capacity on the iPhone 12 series. I work from home so my location services and mobile data are turned off 99% of the time. And Bluetooth is turned off most the time. I’ve had background app refresh turned off since I’ve had this phone, I turned off the screen time feature, there’s no 5G where I live so 5G is always turned off and I just use 4G when I do pop out. And, the battery life on my iPhone 12 Pro Max is still not great. If I had all the above features turned on all day I would definitely have to charge my phone at least twice a day.

That’s why I’ve gone with the iPhone 13 pro max. Because apple have increased the battery capacity and the battery life. I’m hoping that the battery life on the iPhone 13 pro max is even better than the 11 pro max was. My bother has had the 11 pro max since it was released and his battery life has been amazing. And he has got all the above features turned on all the time.

So, I’m hoping apples claims are correct this year and the iPhone 12 Pro Max will indeed have the best battery life yet. They’ve increased the battery capacity so I believe it will be. I genuinely think that apple messed up last year. They cut the battery capacity down on the iPhone 12 series. Claiming the A14 was so efficient that, even with lowering the battery capacity the 12 series would have better battery life than their predecessors. And it didn’t turn out like that.

I’ve never been completely happy with the battery life in my 12 pro max.

I’m upgrading to 13 pro coming from 12 pro max via IUP. I want to try out the smaller screen pro since now it has the same camera and improved the battery life compare to 12 pro. My sight is set on next year’s 14 anyway so may as well give it a try how I like the size of the regular pro. I go to gym a lot and the smaller pro will definitely become handy. However I was hesitant at first because my eye sight gotten worse the only year I used the smaller screen iPhone when I had the X a few years back. I’ve used XS Max, 11 PM and 12 PM ever since. Hopefully it was just me over analyzing.

I am going for the Pro Max from a Xs regular size. Main reason is battery life. I don't know if Apple will make a good battery case, so i am hedging my bet with the largest battery. If they had a Battery case like my Xs, i would order the smaller phone and the Apple battery case.

I really need to get to a store to compare the 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. I am 95% sure I want to downsize to the Pro. Just this morning the 12PM about took 'off' a pair of gym shorts I was wearing (at house.. not gym). I guess I have lost a little more weight than I thought. The ONLY thing that keeps me considering the 13PM is that I do edit a good bit of photos on my phone and that real estate is nice. I also plan to check out the Mini and that could get those photo editing tasks. I thought I would edit photos on my new MBA .. but I never really do.

I just came back from The Opera Apple Store in Paris to see how is the Pro max. Now I’m hesitating 😂.
I really really don’t know. If I take the pro max, it will reduce my usage of my iPad pro 11 inch…

I thought that my regular iPhone 12 was big, coming from an iPhone X previously but now, my iPhone 12 feel really small…

Last year I ordered 12 pro max to update my 2 years old Xs Max. It’s incredible how those negligible differences in size/weight between both were so significant for me. In fact, I think the bigger problem is the square edges (instead rounded of xs) as the volumetric sensation is much higher in hands and inside the pocket. Immediately I returned it and ordered 11 pro max model for better battery/cameras.

for clarification, I tried 12/12 pro and I can’t return to a screen smaller than plus/max model since I bought 6 plus. So why Apple? Why have you increase screens more than 6’5”? Why those squared edges with brick feel?

Same for me. Every year the Max models get heavier and thicker it seems. I had the 12, then got a 12 Pro Max, and while screen is nice and big it really feels like a brick in my pocket. A surprisingly big difference since the 12 Pro is still quite big but somehow it seems the Pro Max is the straw that breaks the camel's back so to speak.

I also notice the 13 Pro is about the same weight as the XS Max, where as the Pro Max is 15% heavier than the XS Max. So those of you coming from an XS Max are going to notice a HUGE weight difference and might feel more at home with the Pro only.

So this year its 13 Pro for me, and I am getting an iPad mini so if I am at home and want to read, surf YouTube, etc. I can just use the mini instead of my phone.
Once we have the max in hand we will see how well apple balanced the weight of the phone. it’s possible the difference could be negligible
