Pro this year, I had the max last year and it was just too much and again this year slightly thicker and slightly heavier. I sold it and had a few months on the mini which I loved initially but do think the standard size is the best balance.

Personally I'd rather they went slightly smaller with the max and back to 5.8" for the pro.

I’d prefer the max to be slightly smaller too. I think 6.4 inches would be an ideal size, but even going back to a 6.5 inch display would be better than the 6.7 inch. I’ve pre ordered the iPhone 13 pro max which is being delivered tomorrow and I’m still having doubts and thinking I should have ordered the 6.1 inch 13 pro. The 6.1 inch is a really good size to use with one hand and it’s more comfortable in the pocket of my jeans. I just can’t get used to the 6.1 inch display. I’ve tried using my friends iPhone 11 and everything felt very crammed in. If I went with the 6.1 inch 13 pro, I would use my phone much less. I’d just use it as a phone, instead of my device to do pretty much everything on. Which could be either a pro or a con for me.

i honestly think after 1 week you’d get used to either size (whether you’re going from a pro to pm or pm to pro). it’s definitely jarring at first, but just an adjustment. i also make my text size the smallest on my phones (unrelated to the sizing but just because i prefer that) and that helps to get more content on screen

I have always found that when sitting indoors or another controlled environment that the plus is terrific and I prefer it but once you step outside I think it becomes a burden. Every year I have wanted the normal but have gone plus and ended up regretting it in a lot of scenarios.

YMMV

I got the MagSafe PopSocket the other day to play around with on my 12 Pro ahead of the Pro Max coming tomorrow. It's a drastic improvement when it comes to one-handed operation and I'm glad they have a MagSafe model now that I can easily attach and detach. It makes me confident that I made the right choice with going up in size this year.

I also like that it doubles as a stand!

Thinking about upgrading from 8 Plus which still works well.
It’s just about the same size as the Pro Max model but without the bezels.
The Pro model is slightly smaller than the Plus size but the screen size is actually bigger without the bezels.
If you owned the older Plus sized iPhones before, then the Pro Max model shouldn’t be a problem.
It would be nicer to have a slightly smaller iPhone that’ll fit into pant pockets better so the Pro model would then be a better choice.
Size wise, Pro Max.
Fit wise, Pro.
Cost difference, $100.
Otherwise, either would do which makes it harder to decide.

The 8+ is smaller and quite a bit lighter than the 13PM. The PM has been creeping up each year

I’ve had the max. I do love it! But it doesn’t love me! It hurts my hands, sags my pockets, and awkward at the gym, and in 6-5”… lol
Team 13 Pro! (Unless I change my mind during the night) lol
I feel this lol. I’m 6’8” so while I can one-hand everything, it’s my walks, running, and the gym where I appreciate the size of the smaller pro. Yet, I’m still wondering if I should have went with the max lol.

I had a 6+ and 7+. One-handed use was harder, it didn't fit as well in my pocket, and it didn't fit in almost any cupholder on any vehicle (I throw my phone in cupholders a lot when out and about). I went back to the non-plus/pro size with the XS, and am getting the 13 Pro (not Max).

Size & Weight, respectively (Apple's website):
13 Pro Max
8 Plus
13 Pro

Height 6.33 inches (160.8 mm)
Height 6.24 inches (158.4 mm)
Height 5.78 inches (146.7 mm)

Width 3.07 inches (78.1 mm)
Width 3.07 inches (78.1 mm)
Width 2.82 inches (71.5 mm)

Depth 0.30 inch (7.65 mm)
Depth 0.30 inch (7.5 mm)
Depth 0.30 inch (7.65 mm)

Weight 8.46 ounces (240 grams)
Weight 7.13 ounces (202 grams)
Weight 7.19 ounces (204 grams)

The 13 Pro Max size is relatively but immaterially bigger than the 8 Plus. Overall, it's relatively similar in size. The former doesn't have the old bezels so it appears bigger because of the larger screen.

It's ridiculous how people consider ~1 oz or so variance as 'it feels heavier' when it's not. LOL!
Doubtful that people can actually feel the negligible weight difference!
It's probably the size that distorts one's perception of the weight & size.
Considering the larger battery size and longer battery life, it's worth the extra ounce of weight.

Anyone who had the older Plus models would probably be used to the size of Pro Max model.
Otherwise, the relatively smaller Pro model appears to be more than sufficient for most people.

My experience was identical to yours. Glad I went with the XS and glad I went with the 13 Pro this time around. I still think the iPhone 5 was the pinnacle of iPhone design in terms of Apple-ness and glad to see some of that design language in the 13 Pro.

Same here. I went from 6s to 7+ to an XsMax. Now debating on which phone to get; 13 Pro or Pro Max. I already have a normal 12 (provided by employer coupled to my business phone number).
while I like the slightly larger screen size of the XsMax over the 12 (6.5 inch to 6.1) inch I find myself reaching for the 12 quite often, as both are logged into the same Apple ID and most apps are on both phones.
while I would like the (even) larger screen on the 13 pro max I’m afraid the extra weight (and bulk because of the flat sides) of the pro max would become an issue. The 13 pro will have the same weight as my XsMax, with the pro max being 30 grams heavier. I’m now using the normal 12 as often as I can (also for games and Netflix) to see if the screen size would suffice.
choices, choices, choices….

Is anyone else’s pre-order I’m the UK still saying ‘Coming soon’ under delivery date. I ordered my iPhone 13 pro max for delivery from today. The only other options were delivery from the 5th October and the 12th of October. But mine should be coming today. I just checked on my network providers app and it’s still saying this:

I got my 13 pro in today. Coming from a X, it’s definitely feels thicker and heavier. I’m glad I didn’t get the Max, it would’ve been too big for me.
I came from an X also and got the pro. As I’m typing this on my new phone, my arm is getting tired already. Lol

the max will be awesome once they reduce the weight.

I was on the same boat and even preordered the regular Pro, I’m so glad I changed my mind and went with the max. Especially if you’ve been using 11 or 12 pro max, going max is the only way to go.

After playing with my 13 pro for most of the day, I so far have zero regrets downsizing from my 11PM. It really didn’t feel that much smaller and actually feels more natural for one handed use.

I’ll give it a few more days to test drive and I can always go back to a max if need be but I think I might stick it out with the pro.

Downsized from the 12PM to the 13P and I'm MUCH happier. Got used to the smaller screen in less than 10 minutes, and the form factor is perfect!

Probably sticking to the regular Pro moving forward unless Apple decides to give the Max extra features.

Coming from 12 pro and 24h in I’m happy and suprised how well the size have been treating me.

It’s big, and two hands are a must for texting. But scrolling and just simple input is no problem with just one hand (small hands here 👋🏻)

Also took a 30 min walk without issues. No problem to fit in my (medium) slim jeans eather.

one day in I don’t regret it. But let’s see in a couple of months. For now I’m just in love of more of everything of what I already loved with my 12 Pro.

hey don't throw it away, that's worth some $$ LOL

Guys I can’t get over how small the 13 pro feels compared to my Note 10 +

The 13 pro it’s super comfortable to hold and type but I realized I spend way too much time on Twitter and YouTube and the video text size is just way too small!!

do I just suck it up or return it for the max?

bte I’ve tried making the text bigger, but video and pictures remain tiny compared to what I’m used to. I don’t want to get an iPad just for this lol
