Thanks. I'll give that a shot. It is an odd anomaly, to say the least. Because I have the v2 @ 8.22 and working flawlessly via the delay harness, it really hasn't been a priority. I'll try it, later today. Thanks, as always, for trying to help! You're the man.

Yes, it is FOR SURE, at 8.22. Yes, it works if I wait until the headunit is up and running THEN plug it in -- which, it why it still works with the delay harness. I am totally encouraged to hear that yours is behaving properly, like Denali's, WITHOUT a delay harness. Perhaps mine needs further testing. The day I tried it, it just never connected... I'll have a couple spare cycles to fool around with, and test, this afternoon. Will report back with any findings!
@2018 Denali -- What version, exactly, are you running in your truck now? Adpater, firms and delay harness status?

all of a sudden, earlier today, the screen went black in my jeep, carplay2air crashed, and it no longer boots up anymore. I tried in my other car and nothing. The dongle appears to be dead. Red light does come on, but it's not sending a signal anymore. I've had the unit since last November. Now when I try to downgrade, I get a blinking red and blue light on the dongle when plugged into the wall
As in it blinks red and blue endlessly? That is normal behavior for recent firmware for it to alternate red and blue while flashing. But it shouldn't take any longer than a couple of minutes.
Edit: and when you say "it's not sending a signal anymore", what exactly do you mean? It should be broadcasting a bluetooth signal and a WiFi signal. When it's plugged into your car, can your iPhone see either of those two signals?
Information for those with a CarPlay2Air device that are hanging on the 2020.01.22 version...
I was still on the 2020.01.22 firmware up to now but in the last couple of weeks, I've seen multiple updates being pushed and pulled again from the OTA (192.168.50.2) and as I read your posts, I just decided to "wait and see" until a solid firmware was identify, ... yes I know, I am a daydreamer
Anyway, yesterday, I noticed that it was showing up the 2020.08.22.1441 version which seems to be successful for most devices.
So, as I had time ahead of me in the next few days if it the update would brick it, I decided to give it a try this morning and what a surprise I had! The update offer this morning was the 2020.07.01.1234 (small version of 0.68 MB that fixes update issues) ! So I went for it and it did update without a glitch.
Did another check for a newer update afterward and this time, they offer me the 2020.07.17.1459 (full version of 6,05 MB) with a prompt to update to the 2020.06.16 version first !! Well since I was already on the 2020.07.01 that fixes updating issue, I just went straight for it with the 2020.07.17 version and it went thru successfully too !! Checked again for newer update but none was available. As a FYI, right after the 2020.07.17 update, steering wheel commands weren't responding at all. So I just stop the car, let the power died in the device and start it again and all was back to normal with these command working again.
To sum it up, I now have the 2020.07.17 version on it and it seems pretty much the same performance/issues as the 2020.01.22 version (mainly the delay in few functionalities), but I still have a working device and didn't had to go thru the 2020.06.16 update. Will need to use it on longer drives to see if all is good as I was experiencing a few sound cuts once a while on 2020.01.22.
For the techno folks, please note that I use the CarPlay2Air device in a Lexus NX300 2018 with an iPhone 8 on iOS13.7

One interesting thing about the joyeauto based firmware: it is starting to fix the next/prev track change issue. I get one or two uses where it works as expected before it gets "stuck", whereas before it would happen every time I would forget and try to change a track using my steering wheel controls.
My CarPlay2air is my test unit now. It’s currently on 9-2-20 firmware. Has been connecting about 95% of the time without the delay relay. It’s been working good no audio glitching.
I just manually updated the CarPlay2air’s firmware to 9-3-20 will run it through tests tomorrow.
I’m not sure why some are having issues manually installing these firmwares.
I was checking with carlinkit sales ppl about the delay media setting.
default is set to DVD and 1000 which they claim is better quality.
They claim that the delay media if set to the highest : 2000 will be even better results.
(remarks: 300 is the lowest)
but it will depend on the car model to determine which setting will serve best. And further advice me to test.
i am gg to set to dvd & 2000 today to test for the next couples of day and monitor the results.
My current setting is defaults dvd @1000 for 8.22 updates. (Until the new ota available)
will update again. Hopefully can get best sound quality without stuttering.

Cool thanks for this. I’ve had my delay set to 500 and thought it was faster. I’ll try 2000 too.
And also she mentioned that the lower you set on the delay media, the pictures and the music will be sync faster when u press the button , for example next song .. (300)
so I guess need a few tries to determine which setting is best for our ride. For me slightly slower respond on screen is fine. I’m more concern on the sound quality tbh...
300 is faster,
2000 is better quality for sound setting, less on the stuttering I guess. And need to test out next few days
Ok, that makes sense with regard to my results. I’ll take faster track change for 200 Alex.
Yes, more delay means more buffering of the audio and less chance of stuttering or drop outs. likely no change in audio quality outside of that.
Received an email back and they didn't give me much information, just to wait for another OTA update through the browser. 👎
