Shame won’t flash for those of us on the Joyeauto with the clinkit although that said mine seems to work “OK”

Anyone know if they are aware some people are stuck on this firmware wondering if it’s worth contacting them.

I contacted them and explained that I could not downgrade or upgrade. They just gave the generic response of wait for an update through the web browser.

Given the larger file size, I wonder if this brings the new/updated pairing screen to Carlinkit/Carplay2Air adapters. Any brave souls who didn't flash 08.27 willing to try them?

My Carlinkit USB-C with the latest September software keeps crashing after the end of each song. It freezes and reboots the infotainment system every time on my Mazda 6.
The dongle never worked as intended with any of the software updates, it keeps having connection problems or crashes.

Is there someone in the forum who has had good luck using the Carlinkit USB-C device or any other type of dongle in their Mazda?

Before the update, I was back to 2020.08.04 after installing some September updates.

OK. I think maybe you experienced the same thing that @D3ggy and @LarryJoe33 did with the 08.27 firmware. They tried to flash it and the process seemed to complete (same LED pattern as a successful flash) but the update didn't take effect. I think that's why it says you're (still) at 08.04. I suspect these two newest updates are indeed for the JoyeAuto variant. I think @shadowmyst1975 tried to install one or both over 08.27 and wasn't successful, so maybe these are doing a more detailed check for JoyeAuto hardware.

I tried one in my 2019 Mazda Miata back in January and could not get it to work. I returned it. I have been watching forum posts and I think everybody with a Mazda has experienced problems. There may have been one guy who said his worked in a Mazda - I just searched the forum for "Mazda" and the only hit that looked like it was working for anyone was message # 3215

You are correct. I tried both dates on my CarPlay2Air unit running 08/27 and my Carlinkit unit also running 08/27. Every time the USB drive flashed to show it was being read by the units, but there was no further activity displayed. Even more telling - unplugging the usb drive while leaving the units plugged into my iPad Air charger did not result in a reboot of the units (as would have occurred with a successful flash).

So I’m looking at the Amazon listing for Carlinkit today and see 4 variations under that for ‘Audi’ ‘Volvo’ ‘White, for Factory CarPlay’ with slightly different prices.

These are all the same-no???

This is the one you want, Prime and check the box for another 5%, can't do better than this price:

Thanks. That’s the one I ordered but are they not all the same-the ones for factory CarPlay head units?
Yeah, their offerings are confusing. Just stay away from the ones that reference Android Auto. The ones that reference factory carplay are the ones you want.

I’ve been on the last two runs of iOS betas. It’s always tough to tell bugs from beta versus inherent car/iOS issues. I’ve noticed nothing of note in the 8 beta versions so far in the way of concerns so I think we’re good.

Agree. Just hoping against hole that this one will work on my GLI. Do any VW owners here have issues on the 6.5” Composition media head units? These worked flawlessly on my other VWs with 8” screens. I’m perplexed.

I'm not so sure about that.

EDIT: NM, saw the announcement. Looking forward to hearing what you guys on 13 think of the CarPlay performance on 14.

I was told of the release date last night. Since it was only a couple more days, it seemed pointless to "leak" it.

I'm not impressed by 14. I didn't notice any appreciable difference on my SE 2020.

Interesting, it made a world of difference for me in terms of speed and responsiveness.

Actually it is Infotainment 3 Plus, not sure if that is the same as MyLink 3.
Skmzatlanta, Infotainment 3 Plus and MyLink 3 Plus are exactly the same thing, i.e., GM RPO code "IOS". Your 2020 Camaro and our 2019 Silverado and 2020 Colorado all have the same hardware. You have also confirmed that 0804 and 0810 both work on the dongle in your car (albeit not perfectly), and I am running 0804. So we are synchronized on two of three degrees of freedom.

The only thing left is the GM infotainment software... and I did not recognize the string format of the software version info you provided in post #4123 above. Did you get your information from the same screen shown in my attached photos from our two trucks?
