Does it have the old or new interface??

Hello, I have recently purchased CPlay2Air (for Skoda Kodiaq-listed in their site as a compatible model). However, I faced few issues like intermittent connection issues, screen goes blank after calls for 10-15 sec before returning to normal screen etc etc. I contacted the customer care and they advised to upgrade to the latest firmware (release on 16th Sept) but when I access OTA update page, it shows that "It is the latest version VER:2020.08.04.1602". Seems like I am stuck on this version. I read that you can do a manual update on carlinkIt but not sure if it is safe to do the same on CPlay2Air. Any advise? Thank you.

Carlinkit and CPlay2Air are exactly the same device. So you can do the update without fear.

same problem. carlinkit fw 8.04 and i cannot update to anything newer. music crashes when waze is on after few minutes and have to remove it and plug back in every time car starts

What vehicle do you have? You can upgrade to 8-22 manually using thumb drive method at your own risk. The download link is in post #4171 right above your original post.

Just to restate: Would not say USB method is riskier perse its potentially safer if your not mindful of keeping power on in car etc. (engine runnng vs. accssory power which can auto-off in newer cars in middle of upgrade).

That said the OTA upgrades posted (also available for a short time as computer download) are what Carlinkit is most confident works for the most people.

That said what works for each person is unique to their particular model car/year/AV unit revision.

That is to say for a long time March 4 download which was never available as an OTA was better then Jan 22 OTA for me in my 2020 Palisade for a long time. Currently running 8/4 OTA.

Upgraded today my carlinkit cpc200-u2w-plus following the instructions.
Everything looked fine during the process and it state to be finished successfully.
but guess what. Now the device is dead.
- no boot up
- no led lights
- no bower on the output
- no BLE-signal

Do you have some suggestions how to get it up and running

I guess that’s good news on going to 400. When you say you aren’t impressed with ios14 is that from a CarPlay/Dongle perspective or you just don’t like the new OS?

All of the above: as an iOS update... it's a gimmicky meh. from the dongle perspective... I don't see any improvement aside from the better stability with the media delay setting. And the CarPlay multi-card page showing the progress bar on media playing.

Same thing happened to me a while ago, had to return it (was still within the return-window on Amazon). You can try a USB update, but I think if there's no LED lighting up at all it's probably dead.

I got the Carlinkit 2 from Amazon a couple of days ago, and it’s been working very well so far. I just plugged it in, and it launched into wireless CarPlay fairly quickly. I wish the cable wasn’t so short because the unit just hangs in the air, but I’m pleasantly surprised. I’m hesitant to update the firmware (if there’s a newer one available). I have a Kenwood excelon 9905s in a Jeep Wrangler. The Amazon description said the unit only works with Audi factory head units. 🤷‍♂️

Come ha detto, esegui l'upgrade o il downgrade tramite USB. Le istruzioni sono nel primo post del thread.

You can replace the USB-C cable with a longer one. Just be careful ordering, the USB-C male that goes in the dongle needs to have a small form factor.

I just ordered an Anker one and trimmed the plug down with a scalpel to get it to fit.

What are your parameters (Sync Mode, Sound Quality, Media Delay)? Which one give the best sound quality?

Only Normal, DVD and 660 seems to give me good results. CD is always lagging after 5 to 6 minutes.

Do you know where to find docs on these parameters?
