CarPlay CarPlay adapter to convert to wireless CarPlay?

The 3.19 fw wouldn't downgrade for me.


I just ended up shipping mine back with it being stuck on 8.27. I could only do very basic usage which was laggy and I didn't want to wait too long to return it. Waze or google maps would constantly crash it. I think it was overall worth tinkering with for the return shipping (china).

That is how CarPlay works wireless or wired, it takes 2 snapshots, one of the iPhone screen and one of CarPlay screen
 
Catching up fellas. On 8.22, stay with this or do an OTA? All is working fine but love the prospect of incremental improvements.

If you OTA you will rollback to 0804. Nothing wrong with that build for me of course, but that’s what will happen. I was on 0822 before OTA
 
hello, I’m using the Carplay2air unit with my Alpine iLX-207 head unit and yesterday I accidentally rolled back my firmware to 2020.08.04. I now have problems with my messages coming in they are silent and the notification banner disappears immediately. Is there a way to go back to the previous firmware version before this rollback ? thank you.

Are you on iOS-Beta? If not have you given your phone a reboot?
This sounds more like an iOS than a Carlinkit-issue. After all the whole thing is a video-feed. So video works or doesn't, anything that happens within the UI probably isn't an issue with the dongle.

Thanks for your reply. I’m on iOS13.7 with my iPhone XS. Yes I have rebooted my phone as well. I was having this problem a couple firmware versions ago then with the second to last update the problem was fixed. The problem returned yesterday when I accidentally updated to the latest firmware which unfortunately for me was a rollback. Teaches me to next time read the update notes. Definitely a problem with the firmware, don’t think it’s an iOS issue.

Maybe an opportunity to try iOS14? It's on beta 8 and rock solid. Close to GM. Can't tell you how much better CarPlay works with our dongles on IOS14.
