j'ai branché l'appareil a ma voiture j'ai voulu faire une mise à jour en ligne une fois effectué l'appareil n'a plus fonctionné et reste rouge je n'ai vu aucun message sur mon écran voiture

@vincentngv has done an Over The Air update and although he does not have any message showing it is likely that he has the Wi-Fi driver issue...

@vincentngv , ceci est un forum anglophone - moi je parle français et bien sûr tout le monde a accès à Google Translate, mais ce sera quand même plus facile si vous communiquez en anglais si possible. Quelle version de cet appareil avez vous, et quelle marque, modèle de voiture et version du système multimedia?

I confirm, this is a limitation from MBUX. There is a way to unlock it but at the price of the warranty....

The messed up thing is that the Mentality probably is that MB-UX is so amazing - why do you want CarPlay? If they make it crappy more people work use MBUX

using your carplay theme i am not able to tap-select second paired phone ..
both lines turn gray and still connect to the 1st one on the list

There’s only 1 line of code for list box. It either works or doesn’t. Which resolution?

I tested can’t replicate on my side

anyone else?

I did more test and I don't think its your theme
If its set in auto connect by the time you see the screen its already started connection to the 1st device in list
If I turn off auto connect its works fine

do you know if we can add delayed the connect/list screen instead of start up delay ?

I see what you are saying. I see same Behaviour on 1920

When it is on manual, if I select another phone in the list it shows connecting to the first phone, but it’s actually connecting to the phone that you had selected which could be misleading.

it’s not theme related.

if you have auto connect enabled it will automatically pair with the last phone it connected with


it will be hard to make any changes unless they are in the binary files.

I'am on 2021.02.05.2216 at the moment with red Ui.
Which firmware do I have to install for your theme?
And what if the manufacturer releases new firmware with bug fixes and more options?

As long as you have the custom red Ui you should be fine.

If you upgrade or change versions you need to reinstall it

I doubt they will change anything but we will face that issue when it happens
 
I really want to use your custom interface @TireGuy6 , but the only known version that works without hiccups with the Mazda CX-5 is the March version- which you are saying not to flash your interface on. The reason for not recommending to flash on March version is because there isn’t an option to downgrade. Am I understanding this correctly?

Go ahead and use March.
It will work on anything from November - March

The only reason I said don’t use March is because March has been breaking devices but if you are already on it, then you’re on it.

The new UI interface won’t break anything — completely. The unit will still boot up, if you make any mistakes you would have to SSH/SFTP into the device to fix it

Also, if you are already on a Custom version of March already you can downgrade. If you are on stock March already on the non-custom version you are SOL.

you can still downgrade stock March using 192.168.50.2
(well.. can, if wifi still working)

@TireGuy6. Great work! It seems we are getting a lot of questions on your custom FW and interface.

Could you do a “how to” and I’ll post on first post and then can just refer a lot of questions to the first post stickie?

Rephrasing my question - for those for whom wifi stopped working in 2021.03.06 and who are unable to flash with any currently available packages: is there any way that we can repackage say stock 2021.02.02 with a flag or ID to fool the updater into installing it over the March image? I cannot test any options as my adapter worked with March update until I downgraded and flashed with Autokit. For example, in the unpacked image I see in /etc/software_version the string 2021.03.06.1343, so would it be as trivial as changing this in the 2021.02.02.2110 image to a later date and higher number, repacking and then trying to reflash? You get my point...

Yea that’s what I suggested have you tried to do that?
 
Sorry that I evidently missed your post. I am bumping up against the limits of my knowledge here, but I am willing to make this specific change and repack using the scripts from @VLud and post on Google Drive. The problem will be testing it...
 
if I understand you correct, you mean the Problem some user users and me are facing. I could test if you want - if it is working with USB.

Actually I’m having trouble with @CarlinKit and the seller/AliExpress. None of them will pick up the warranty, so the device is simply trash for me right now and Im grateful if we can reanimate.
 
Thanks @Kevbert ... I have to emphasise that this is use at your own risk. I have taken the U2W 2021.02.02 image, extracted it, and updated the file /etc/software_version to contain the string 2021.03.28.1345

Here goes:
  1. Download the file LINK DELETED TO AVOID CONFUSION BECAUSE FILE DOES NOT INSTALL
  2. Rename to U2W_Update.img
  3. Copy to empty USB flash drive formatted to FAT32
  4. Follow the usual instructions for updating the adapter from USB drive
Important note: @VLud states in his Github archive that before repacking the archive to run chown command. I was not able to do this either under MacOS or with a quick Linux Mint download.

Fingers strongly crossed!
