Its not about the length, its about the first connection. Even on this version it has a connect-disconnect loop and at some point it connects to carplay and stays connected. Its still not reliable, i will test 1-2 days and i throw it in the box.
Its a waste of money on Mazda, dont buy, 0 support from Podofo.
Mazda 3 2020.

I agree. Not recommended to other Mazda owners who have not bought the Podofo box. I spent more than a month messaging with Podofo but got me no where. One of their CS reps even told me that their box does not work with Mazda, and their box ONLY works with Android OS radio.
To those who already bought it...Good Luck!

Good luck and pray:D
The podofo suport told me today
“Sorry, it should be caused by the incompatibility of our equipment, I hope you can understand
jack”

To all Mazda owners who bought the Podofo, I suggest you file a claim and request for full refund in the Aliexpress website. The seller is going to ask you to remove the claim and rate them 5 stars in exchange for a refund, but do not do that. Just continue to keep the claim open and attach any backups you have of the device not working. I did that and got my full refund from Aliexpress.

CheerDriving's device shows that it is compatible with Mazdas. They told me that they dont have any relation to the Podofo brand but their updates seem to work with Podofo. I do not know if there is any difference between the 2 devices as I have not purchased CheerDriving's box. They have been responsive to me though and tried helping. I think we can report our issues to CheerDriving and they can help us. Podofo on Aliexpress has given me the runaround for a month now saying they would send my video of the issues to their engineer (this was before CheerDriving released their .10 update).

Yup. They said the same to me. But their item listing says its compatible with Mazda, there for that gives a a clear reason for Aliexpress to process your refund claim.

I tried that, but Aliexpress adjudicated in favour of the vendor, with an unintelligible reason as to why I couldn't get a refund......

I claimed via paypal and won, but would have to send the device back to Podofo to get the refund - which would cost me more than the device itself for shipping.

I had the exact same experience with podofo. I filed a dispute on AliExpress and they asked me to remove the dispute and reopen as personal reasons. I did that and they tried not to honour the refund and asked me to pay for the return postage. I then reopened the dispute and AliExpress stepped in, I showed proof of videos of connection error and at the end I got my full refund without having to send it back.

I also do not recommend Podofo even though it connects ok most of the time with my Volvo, but it doesn't power on at all on my Mercedes (perhaps have something to do with type c in my car?), I have tried usb c to usb c cables but the light just don't turn on.

Regarding to usability, it seems to connect faster than my Carlinkit v2, but the inability to change audio lag setting is annoying and it sometimes still give me connection errors. Overall I think my Carlinkit v2 is more stable than the Podofo.

You need to show them evidence that the device does not work. I uploaded 2 videos in my dispute with AliExpress. 1) showing I plug in the podofo box and my car shows a connection error. 2) I used cable and it connects straight away.

After they stepped in and review my evidence, they ruled it in my favour and gave me full refund.

If you pay for the Podofo with PayPal, you may be to claim return shipping cost via PayPal.

I did include evidence.... but for whatever reason they closed the dispute and you cannot re-open it.

Paypal won't cover return shipping costs

So.... put it down to horrible junk and move on with life I guess

Damn that sucks. Sorry to hear that. The device seems to work flawlessly for my gf's Honda Civic 2018 model. Maybe you can gift it someone else.

Found a way to “bypass” the roboot loop, will test more and give feedback.
When you start the car, the adapter connection screen pops up, at that moment you minimize by pressing home button, then go to BT on your phone and manually connect. Wait until it connects and then disconnects, and ONLY then you cand press right to enter carplay.

I just received this adapter and it worked right out of the box on my 2019 Subaru and my iPhone 13 mini.

maybe already in this thread - but can you use these adapters with more that 1 iPhone. My wife and I share a car and we each have an iPhone. Sometimes I use CarPlay and other times she does. Again can more that one phone be setup and do something to select which phone to connect? Thanks

Yes, at least I’ve tested and confirmed with the CarLinkit devices. Works great, defaults to last connected, if we are both in the car, you can usually select the phone you want to connect for the first few seconds during boot, before pairing.

Hey! I bought Carlinkit 3.0. Judging by the firmware number, I should have a RedUI interface, but for some reason it looks like this. Please tell me how to fix it?

Cx5 2019.

So I got the podofo working with my cx5. Carplay seems to work pretty well so far without issues.

The mirror/airplay is wonky right now and doesn't Work. It only seems to work for a second when I stream a YouTube video but the infotainment screen turns green with the silhouettes of the actors on screen and then my screen goes black. It’s blacked temporarily until I reset the infotainment screen to get the darn carplay to show up again. While blacked, I can still toggle to carplay with my vehicles middle button tapped twice.

For now, I am happy .10 update works with my Mazda CX-5.

Edit: Drove forty minutes and never had an issue. The boot to pairing time is sgnificantly quicker than the carlinkit.

Anyone want my Podofo adapter? Don't like it at all over my Carlinkit 3.0. Cover the shipping from DC and it's yours, DM me.

Not sure how to DM you, so I'm asking here - I am very interested if it is still available. Shipping would be to California.
