Auto_Box_Update.img files are for older adapters that are on the previous firmware scheme. Once you're on v2, you need to use the U2W_Update.img files.

You're right that Carlinkit removed the U2W_Update.img for 2020-02-29. I didn't download it but I did see that it was there as of yesterday. I have to assume they pulled it because it caused some sort of problem. So probably a good thing that you didn't flash it. If you already have the previous update installed (either 2020-01-22 or 2020-02-17) then it's probably best to just wait for them to post another U2W_Update.img file.

It’s working ok on mine at the moment. I did have a mini panic this morning though. I have added a 0.3m ext lead to make it easier to take the unit out for flashing. The socket on the XC60 is tucked in the cubby next to the side wall. When I plugged in all I could get was “connect a comparable device” on the cars screen. A couple of hours later its working as expected.

How can I tell wether I'mn on v2 or not? Is this related to a hardware revision?

No, same hardware. If you bought your adapter this year (or maybe even last 2 weeks of December) it is most likely already on v2 firmware.

Are you able to connect to the adapter's wifi network from your phone and pull up 192.168.50.2? If so, then you're already on v2.

I tried this today in the following Honda vehicles. I updated the unit to the newest OTA update. If anybody needs to know about a Honda vehicle not listed below let me know.
If you’re still able, is it possible to check the 2019 Fit EX? Thanks.

My carplay2air adapter was shipped in China on 2019-12-19 and was on v2.
The U2W_Update.img file can only be from 2019-12-16 according to the index list.

I just got this (cplay2air) today for use in a 2019 Citroen C3, but I have a hard time getting it connected.
When I connect the dongle, the screen from the dongle only pops up for a brief moment before closing again, so I cannot get to hit the Search button.

Anybody got a good idea on how to get it set up?

Just flashed via USB the 2020-02-26 version on CarLinkIt and still nothing on Vauxhall. This is since Sep ‘19 and the “promise” to wait for updates.

Still being advertised as compatible for Vauxhall as well, by CarLinkIt and CarPlay2Air.

Have you contacted their support since Sept 2019 and uploaded a log file from the adapter? If you want it to be fixed you will probably have to keep pestering them about it.

Yes I’ve asked on numerous different ways, messenger, email, official FB group, WhatsApp etc. Just get the please upgrade, which I have since Sep!

Never had it working at all, dongle works in a Mercedes so know it’s ok. Just frustrating when they advertise compatible and it isn’t and nothing has worked.

Hey guys. So I finally got my carplay2air. Connected to my car, and updated OTA , all done. Played around with it for 1 hour or so. It’s ok, but I’m not impressed. But I do have a serious question though. So the dongle creates this internal WiFi and connect, right. While my phone is on 4g, I feel like the phone 4g connections os loooow as hell. Is that a normal behaviour? I did a Speedtest while being in car port and connected to CarPlay2air I get max 1mbit dl. Disconnected from the dongle, and inside my home I get 30 mbit on my 4g connection.

What’s your experience ?

To reduce your variables you should make sure to test both scenarios in the car. Like go out to the car but don't start it. Make sure you're on the cellular connection (not your home's WiFi) and run a speed test. Then start the car, let the CarPlay connection get established, and run another speed test.

I'll try that later on today too.

MrMister111 - I tried the carplay2air adapter for my 2016 insignia with intellilink system but no joy. It flashes up carplay but before you can react it's gone. I wish I'd found this post before buying! Support is very very poor, supposed to be 24/7! Clearly states on their website compatible but after asking for help got a reply from them saying it's not! I've had to put a PayPal claim in to try and get a refund. All I want is the thing to work!

Just tested on my way home from work tonight:

Connected to CarPlay via Carlinkit: 88.8Mbps down/8.27Mbps up
After turning the car off (disconnected from Carlinkit): 67.7Mbps down/9.65Mbps

Given how variable cellular internet can be I'm guessing those numbers are basically equivalent, but certainly doesn't show any drastic reduction in bandwidth when connected via Carlinkit.

Possible factors:
-iPhone model (I have an 11 Pro)
-Cellular network type (I'm in the US on AT&T with the faux "5GE" network)
-Carlinkit firmware (I'm on 20200217)

GPS using carlinkit is 100% using phone and not car GPS like native wired would do. Hopefully theycan integrate and fix that and would be perfect!

Doesn't it bother almost anyone that the GPS signal from the car is no longer used? This is a serious disadvantage for me, as my iPhone is located in the centre armrest when connected to Carlinkit.

This makes my navigation, one of the basic functions of CarPlay, almost unusable and I find it an infuriating fact that this is not mentioned anywhere.

My iPhone XR has a silicone back cover and is also in a mobile phone leather case. All this in a shoulder bag on the back seat. I have no problems with the GPS of the navigation apps.
Alpine iLX-F903D, Mitsubishi ASX.

thanx for the test buddy. Today i testet it again outside the carport, and it seemed better. However the dongle is unusable for me, as youtube streaming, iptv., video playing etc with my jailbroken iphone x on wireless carplay, has major delay. apparently this kind of video streaming needs more bandwitch that the dongle can handle.
So im looking into selling my carplay2air .

Exactly the same as mine. Flashes up and disappears. Timed it once and seen the interface pop up but disappeared.

Glad someone else on Intellilink/Vx tried as well and it’s not just mine then.

I’ve kept mine as when I got through to support they said send back, but would have cost loads. They know this as well and that’s why they’ll tell you it will work, and if not send back for refund.

They gave me a little refund, I bought via Amazon UK in case. So that’s only reason I kept it. Don’t think it will ever work.

I’ve told them numerous times that you advertise it will work on Vauxhall, but I can’t find where they said this now, if you can please link, and they now insist it won’t and just wait for updates......

there is a new manual update fiel in the current date 03.03. folder. Should i flash my car2play witht his? and if yes, will i have the activation issue, where i have to upload log and get a username and password?

Sound like the exact same thing happening in my 2019 Citroen C3. The cplay2air screen only shows very briefly without the possibility to click anything.
That despite multiple appraisals on their website stating the it works just fine with Citroen C3's.

Today I have been able to test it in a VW Tiguan, and it worked just fine and I got it updated while connected in that car.
Will try in my own car again this evening.
I have reached out to Carplay2air via their contact page describing my situation. Hopefully they will respond.

What’s the latest OTA update you got? Did you see the version? I updated mine via USB last time to 26Th Feb.

Although mines CarLinkIt, they are both the same adapter apparently. Even though I’ve asked CarPlay2Air specifically if it works with my Vauxhall and they “promised” it would, if not refund me!?!

To be honest I forgot to make a note of that, as everything happened very quickly as my colleague didn't have very much time for me to play around with his carplay :)
But it was the version that is out there for OTA today as it was just done moments before writing in here.

well i just manually flashed my dongle with this 112.74.112.110/download/2020-03-03/
went fine, and started up good. however when checking the version number through the web it says
VER.2020.02.29.1311
