Does the watch complication only show on the watch after paying the yearly sub?
[doublepost=1491176120][/doublepost]How do you add the premium? I can't find anywhere in the app to add it.

The complication can be added without the subscription, it just doesn't have as many features. And you can purchase the subscription via the settings screen of the iPhone app (the link is at the very top) - but you have to have your Apple Watch paired for the link to show up. If it's still not showing up, try rebooting your Apple Watch and iPhone.

I have the complication now on the watch but in the app on the phone, I still can't find out how to purchase premium. There is nothing in the apps settings that offers the premium upgrade.

Did you try rebooting both your iPhone and Apple Watch? If the "premium" section at the top of the iPhone app's settings screen still isn't showing up, send me a support request using the big green button at the bottom of the settings screen.

Weird thing is, the premium section doesn't appear in any of my four iPhones and two iPads. I'll send a request later.

Just wanted to pipe up and say this is a great app! Bought the premium subscription a few weeks ago and love all the customization options for the Apple Watch. Thanks @MakerOfCARROT for being such a responsive developer!

Speaking of, I do have one question/possible feature request. Is it possible to disable the "rain in x minutes" feature for complications? I don't find the estimates to be particularly accurate and the information obscures the current condition and temperature information on the small complications. I looked around but couldn't find a way to disable the feature. Did I miss it? If not, would it be possible to add the option to disable it in a future update, preferably on a per-complication basis. It's great on the large modular complication, but I don't like it on the smaller utility and color complications. Thanks!

I stopped using Carrot Weather on my phone and watch. It appeared to drain the battery much faster on the phone and watch. Once I deleted the app, the battery life went back to normal.

I think I might just remove that feature from the small complication altogether in the next update. Now that the app has precipitation notifications, it's not really necessary anymore - and you're right that it obscures the actual temperature/condition as well.

I've had literally zero complaints about battery life across tens of thousands of Apple Watch users. I can go three days on a single charge on my Apple Watch with three different Carrot Weather complications running on my watch face. If you're experiencing battery drain issues, I recommend rebooting your Apple Watch and iPhone. (On the iPhone, you can go to the Settings app, then to the Battery section to see a report on how much each app is eating up battery life. CARROT Weather is typically at 1-4% of battery life.)

Awesome, thanks for the quick reply! Do you have an ETA on when the next version might drop? It has been a while since the app was updated!

Still loving this app, however I have noticed the forecasted temperature is routinely 10 degrees higher than any other weather app I compare it to. Not sure if this has always been the case, or I'm just now noticing it...

It depends where you're located. The weather service I use, darksky.net, pulls data from a bunch of different weather services across the world and then combines this with a very complex image analysis of radar - it’s usually super accurate, with the ability to give precipitation start/end times and amounts right down to the minute, but sometimes one set of data can disagree with another set - particularly for those not in the US or UK, where they don’t have as many data sources. I know they’re working on perfecting these algorithms to ensure it’s correct closer and closer to 100% of the time!

Actually, I do like the estimated precipitation time on the complication. I know it is not always the most accurate but it does give a good warning at a glance if I need to take care of anything outside soon.

Yeah, the problem is just that it obscures critical data on the small complication. I'll leave it turned on on the large complications since they can still fit the conditions/temperature. So maybe I'll just offer an option to turn it back on, and leave it turned off as the default for the small complication.

Yeah I think an option would be nice. I would personally leave it turned off but I'm sure others would like to be able to have it at a glance.

Not to be rude, based on your previous posts really sounds like user error more than anything else...
If you're going to throw out random stuff like that, at least provide evidence instead of trying to discredit the app.

The carrot dev bends over backwards to reply to every customer as well as update constantly. It is the only complication so far that 1) is taking advantage of the multiple complication layouts properly 2) constantly updating his app.

Considering how much work he's putting in, I felt the need to say something.

What evidence am I supposed to provide? My phone and watch started draining the batteries faster with the app installed. Once I deleted the app, the battery life went back to normal. That's enough evidence for me.

I've been on this site long enough and have experience enough to know when an app is the problem. I've simply stopped using the app so my problem is solved.

Like I said before, unless you went to the Battery section of the Settings app on your iPhone and that screen was showing a very high percentage for CARROT Weather, those methods aren't very scientific. There are plenty of reasons that the battery could be randomly draining on your iPhone/Watch that don't relate to a specific app. A reboot usually solves them.

Of course it's not outside the realm of possibility that the app was causing battery issues for you, it just seems strange because CARROT Weather has many thousands of users and I've received no battery complaints whatsoever. If you ever reinstall the app, try taking a look at the Battery section after a day or so.

I'm having a problem with CARROT. My watch died and Apple sent me a replacement. I just set it up from scratch and when I added CARROT as a complication, it is showing no data... just "--". If I click on that, it takes me to CARROT on the watch and it just cycles through bunch of icons and never stops and provides weather. I tried removing it from the watch and then adding it back and same result. I tried paying for the subscription which had expired and then removing and adding it back and same result. CARROT works fine on my iPhone but seems to be not sending anything to the watch. How do I get this working?

Sounds like you're experiencing a bug that's pretty common to watchOS. If you restart your Apple Watch, that should fix the issue. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Thanks for the quick reply. Its in the process of downloading a WatchOS update, so that will do a restart and will let you know if I'm still having trouble after it. Thanks again.

This is my favorite all-around weather app by far...and I cannot use it because Dark Sky is so horrible. Dark Sky says it will be 106 here in Phoenix on Friday and Saturday. No other app/weather source even shows a high over 100 degrees. Sadly, it is worthless to me to have such an unreliable forecast.

Any chance we might be able to choose between different sources in the future? Sort of like eWeather allows?

I'm actually seriously considering allowing users to toggle between Dark Sky and Weather Underground, but access to Weather Underground *may* require an additional purchase because their data is significantly more expensive than Dark Sky's.

You can do tiers in subscriptions now, so I could potentially do a tier for Apple Watch access to Dark Sky data, and another tier for access to Weather Underground data.

What does everyone think about this?
