Hi there. Nice app update, thank you. One thing I have noticed is that under iOS 11 Carrot 4 seriously gets the iPhone hot and tanks the battery. Are you aware of this?

Hopefully it's just a beta issue, as I haven't gotten any other reports of this - and battery life seems fine on iOS 10 even when I leave it up on screen for hours while doing testing. Will look into it more to make sure everything's working okay before the official launch in September!

Yeah, you can't currently see the stations on the map, I don't think WU actually provides their GPS location - I'll look into that. You'd have to look up the station name you want to use in the WU app, then manually select it in CARROT.

WU does supply lay/long location. See below

Yep, I found it in their feed - I'll look into adding it to the map in a future update. Though it unfortunately won't be possible to show all the temperature data for each station, just the names and details.

MakerOfCARROT - is the time machine feature gone? I can’t find it in 4.0. Might just be me though

Not gone, just needed a little more time to get it finished. It'll be back in the next update - hopefully this week!

Latest release on app store, and todays beta, doesn't update the widget on the apple watch. Example, left dallas tx today and it was 99F (shows on my apple watch). Landed in Philadelphia about 3 hours ago, and it still shows 99 on the apple watch. When I click on the widget though, it shows Phily and 77F. But it does not reflect or show updated on the widget =(

Reboot your watch.

Admittedly I am running iOS 11, but has there been any reports about internet connection errors? I am getting these regularly from Carrot Weather, despite having a valid connection.

Hmm, that's weird, were you getting connection errors before the update to 4.0? I don't believe I changed anything in the networking code...

Reboot your watch.

Recently set up my 2nd watch with apps etc again after resetting everything when I got my iPhone 7 a month or two back.

Getting Carrot to work was a pain. I'm fairly sure that's nothing to do with the app (WaterMinder also had difficulties connecting) but in total it took 3-4 reboots of both Watch and phone before it all clicked. Worked flawlessly since. Just putting it out there for anyone with problems, don't stop at one watch reboot. Try a few.

Yes, I agree it's quite annoying. Sucks knowing that every update I do to improve the app will make many users' complications stop working, and they'll think it's something wrong with the app itself. Hopefully it's something they get fixed soon.

I have seen times when removing complications for an app, changing them to another complication, then back, will make them work. Have you tried this with Carrot or does it often fail on update anyway?

Miss. Carrot AI stopped making comments. I've toggled the personality between all the settings several times and killed the app but all it does not is give the weather with no commentary about hoping I get sunburn.

Any ideas?
I'll delete/reinstall if nothing else to try but I added a lot of custom weather stations and would like to avoid redoing that if possible.

Hmm. Did CARROT stop speaking out loud, or did the dialogue she speaks stop being snarky?

She still speaks out loud but only the professionally stated forecast, none of her charming snarky commentary.

Sounds like you changed the "spoken summary" option in iPhone customization -> current. Switch that back to "snark".

@MakerOfCARROT

In the next version of the app, on the Apple Watch Modular Face, can we choose what to see on the 2nd and 3rd line of the large slot??

Thanks!

That's on my list for future updates!

I'd love to see color options for the top line of text for the large modular complications:) thanks for the great app

A few of the customization options already have colored top line text - I think the temperature only one? Will look into making this an option for more of them in the future.

I know it's been quiet on the watchOS front as I've been so focused on the iOS app lately, but I just pushed some pretty significant behind-the-scenes changes to the watchOS app in the latest beta. Plus a few small watchOS 4-specific things. Let me know if you encounter any issues!
