That's because Weather Underground's data is significantly more expensive than Dark Sky's. It's annoying, I agree, but I either had to charge extra for it for Apple Watch users or not offer it as an option at all.

$10 per user per year? It should be clear what you get as I had no idea there were 2 tiers of Premium Memberships so the one I purchased was a waste of money as I doubt I’d pay $10 per year.

WU's data costs more than 10x as much as Dark Sky's. I'm charging a little over 2x what Dark Sky users pay for background updates on the Apple Watch. And every data update for WU users also downloads Dark Sky data as well, so it's even more costly. I'd say it's a fairly good deal.

And there are multiple callouts on the subscription signup page that say an ultrapremium subscription is needed to get WU data on the Apple Watch. Sorry for any confusion, you can always request a refund from Apple for the subscription.

@MakerOfCARROT
I'm still waiting.....

Very excited to finally get this big redesign I've been teasing on here out to all of you!

The app has a gorgeous new interface and a ton of new features. Full app customization, spoken forecasts, gestures, full-text weather alerts, animated radar, improved notifications, additional watch face complications, and more.

Thanks to everyone who helped with the beta testing and who suggested improvements and new features on here!

why does the watch app persist in restoring the displayed summary, even when its set to none? it keeps coming back like an STI :(

Had one other report of this so far, will look into it. What does it switch back to, out of curiosity? Snark?

How does the spoken thing work? I have it set to yes, but haven’t heard anything

I have the same problem. Just bought Dark Sky for iPhone (already had it on my Apple TV). Initially it spoke and now it doesn't. I went to the sounds settings on my watch via iPhone and the sound is on and turned up. I can hear Mickey announce the time but no longer hear anything with Carrot.

It seems that way. Ironically, I can't actually force Snark. If I choose Snark as the setting, the watch app shows the exact same text as "Today". I have two watches I switch between, if that helps. Both exhibit the same symptoms after switching.

And you have the speech synthesizer setting set to on in the settings screen on the Apple Watch app?

On the plus side, I must say I appreciate the haptic feedback on the watch when it copies a changed setting across while you customise it on the iPhone. It makes it feel very complete and satisfying.

I said Dark Sky (which I already had) but meant to say that I just purchased the iPhone/iPad version of Carrot Weather with the Watch app. I did not see a "speech synthesizer setting" in settings on my Apple Watch. Did you mean to say the settings screen on my iPhone from within the Apple Watch app? Just looked there too (in settings under Sounds & Haptics) and didn't see a "speech synthesizer setting there either.

This is in the CARROT Weather Apple Watch app - force press on the screen to bring up the force touch menu, then select settings.

When I pressed on the screen to bring up the settings menu from the Carrot Weather Apple Watch app I get only one option. (to turn on speech). The "Speech" slider is turned on and under that it says: "Join Premium Club from iPhone app to customize my interface!"

If you need to pay the Premium Club subscription to hear the spoken words (like I do on the Apple TV app) then I'll pass. I do not purchase software/app subscriptions. It's a never ending financial cess pool/money pit. I'll pay one time for the app and that's it.

Mystery Solved
Evidently the Mighty Carrot speaks once than, again but only after it updates the weather. I thought it would speak every time I launched it.
