Does it bother you if we don't use a case?

Or are we merely just arguing over and over WHY you use a case and WHY we do not - trying to convince the other that we are right?'

It doesn't matter to me if you use a case, it shouldn't matter to those who use cases that I do not. Our reasons are all perfectly valid as it's personal choice.

Just because you dont mind the scratches on the back doesnt mean everyone does. Therefore covering it up in a case for OCD guys like me is a necessity. If Apple ever comes up with some material which doesnt scratch as easy as sandpaper I may go caseless

But see my OCD kicks in when i've got a phone thats over twice as thick as the original, I can no longer use the curved edge feature, i've got a colour frame around the edges of the phone and its twice as thick in my pocket. The middle two especially irk my OCD, and if I use an unofficial thin cover which doesn't do the above you still get that horrible bit where the phone meets the start of the cover you have to rub your finger against and its just, urgh.

So what? Few visible scratchs is annoying and it affect the readability of your screen. Also I have dents on almost four corners of my iPhone 6 and I dropped thar phone more than 10 times. I am lucky that screen did not break. Scratches and dents are all over the place after a year of use without case. I do not want make same mistake ever. I will have case for all my phones except these cheap phone like Moto E.

If it's visible you are careless because i somehow managed to keep my phones in a very good condition without any cases and screen protectors.

My OCD is so bad I won't even buy a new car because I'm worried about scratching it (and the fact that I don't want a monthly payment). And a scratch/ding is equally just as bad on a phone that you use at least once every waking hour. I've seen people use phones with a fully cracked screen and that alone would drive me insane.
I will always use a case (and glass screen protector) no matter what anyone thinks. You won't see me complaining about scratches on these here forums.

Look at the cut out around the Touch ID man - its much worse than a scratch...your eyes can never un-see that again :D

Stop dropping the bloody phone you klutz!

I would if iPhone is not such slippery phone. I don't drop my Moto X that much, becuase if proivde much more grip

By the way, I enjoy hefty phone. This is why I like my Moto X and Moto G and I want a hefty case for my iPhone. Just to increase grip and weigth. I dislike paper weight phone and I wish iPhone is heavier and battery is bigger, 2500mAh or more is needed

It's slippery is a common refrain I hear from those who use cases. I don't disagree.

I've just learned to pay attention when grabbing and holding my phone and take a little extra care with what I am doing. Not that those who use cases don't do that either. But if it's slippery, it pays to focus on what you are doing.

I do agree that the 6 design is too slippy, but its also too big - you never dropped the iPhone 5s and below because they were the correct side to hold properly and tightly in one hand and they were slippery either.

Still I solved the slipperiness with a dbrand skin - Id rather the phone was much lighter and smaller though, it feels like a brick compared to the 5s.

One thing I never use is screen protector. I have used many different smartphones since 3GS/Nexus One era. Never use any screen protector. I believe they are a sort of snake oil in their advertisement of preventing scratches on your phone. I frequently see sellers demonstrating a screen protector by jabbing nail or keys on the phone with the protector, and then showing the damage on the protector and the pristine screen. Well, DUH! The screen is not pristine because of the protector, it's pristine because of the gorilla glass. Gorilla glass have hardness rating above steel, so obviously steel cannot scratch it.

Steel bends but Gorilla Glass cracks. It maybe harder but it is not as durable. Take a steel hammer to it and see what happens!
The more surface area, the more prone to cracking.

To you, perhaps. But it's not impossible for everyone.
Hence "to me"

Don't think it's worth the risk personally however those with apple care maybe the risk isn't an issue. That said I hate scratches or any hint of that so that's what would annoy me

Just don't buy the phone at all since you rape it with cases and screen protectors anyway and do not enjoy using it in the process. That way you will save 6-7 hundred instantly.

Stop exaggerating. You are probably talking about the Otterbox Extreme Cases.Cases like these dont add bulk nor would I call that "raping" the phone. It doesnt sacrifice the look any and keeps my device in pristine condition

I saw some guy with an apple watch today in the grocery store and he had a case on it.
I do not baby my phone, that is why I use cases.

It's still an alien visitor from outer space that is occupying the immediate surroundings of the iPhone airspace.

Any 5"+ phone made of metal and glass is slippery.

That was NOT my experience the first and only time I dropped and cracked the screen on my 6+. The screen protector, despite landing face down on asphalt didn't have any real damage to speak of. My screen on the other hand was entirely shattered underneath the protector.

Please note, I am not injecting myself on either side of the discussion on this here, I am just commenting on this one statement you made to share my experience. That's all. :)
It could definitely go either way. I've found there's no foolproof way of protecting an iPhone if luck isn't running your way that day. I'd almost swear some days it seems like there was a bit of fairy or gremlin magic involved as to whether or not my iPhone ended up surviving an "oops" unscathed.

I keep my 6s plus in Incipio Highland wallet/folio cases because I find they help me grip the phone easier when I'm taking photos and give me a convenient place to stow a credit card and id and even a $20 bill when I can't or don't want to take my purse with me. And they offer very basic protection from scuffs and scratches inside my purse or my back pocket. I have three now to match different occasions and outfits. Some occasions just call out for the dignity of an all black iPhone and my black wallet case provides it.

I don't find the naked 6s Plus attractive enough or ergonomic enough to give up the convenience of using a wallet case. Don't get me wrong, I think the phone is nice looking. But it's not something I feel compelled to show off or look at all the time.
