A lot of people on here are saying their belkin already cracked and the reviews on Apple are 1*

I’m always wary of screen protector reviews though. Lots of people out in the world who get pissed off that a GLASS object can’t withstand huge drops. I’ve had zero problems with my Belkin screen protector and it feels better than the cheap Amazon ones I’ve used.

For sure slippery. Definitely will need to get a screen protector. I see myself dropping the phone...

I’m not a fan of screen protectors that show an edge. Can you guys discuss the pros and cons of ones that have an obvious edge and ones that don’t?

Screen protectors that cover an edge may not be compatible with all cases. And sometimes they don't adhere properly to curved edges of the phone's screen which means one corner will start lifting and letting in dust. I have no issues with the ones that don't cover an edge. I've got one on now with my Lucid Clear and both it and the case are great.

Love this case! I wanted something that would show off the phone without taking away from it's beautiful design and this case is definitely that. It's super sleek and minimalistic. As many have stated, it is definitely slippery and there isn't much of a lip to protect the screen. All in all, I'm really satisfied with the purchase. I've paired it with the Belkin Glass (installed at Apple--super pleased with it also) so I feel I'm in good shape.

Eventually I'll move away from the clear cases and onto something more stylish but for now, I'm loving the simple look!

Also would like to know this. Did they mention anything about early adopters qualifying for replacements?

Here is the response I received from Caudabe support..

Thanks for the email. Regarding the lip, this has actually been a point of great debate internally. Some want a lip and others don’t because it interferes with the swiping motion and just doesn’t feel as natural. Having said that, we do recognize that the lip currently in place isn’t as pronounced as it could be and are already in the process of modifying our tooling to increase the lip on our next batch of Lucid Clears. It will not be a major increase, as our design philosophy with Lucid Clear was for the case to feel as unobtrusive as possible, but the lip will be extended more than it currently is.

Since this is an important issue for you, we would be more than happy to ship you a complimentary replacement once the revised batch is available. We don’t have a specific ETA on it, but would expect stock later this month. Please feel free to check back with us as often as you’d like. Happy to keep you updated.

Here are photos of the Caudabe Lucid Clear with the Orzly Pro-Fit Tempered glass.

My first impressions are that the size of it is ideal for the Lucid Clear case. The thickness of the glass means that it rises a tiny bit higher than the case's lip. It feels good to the finger swiping up from the lip to the glass. There is almost no gap between the frame of the glass to the case! There is some dust buildup on the black frame around the glass, but it is not terrible. It would be worse if the black frame was rubber. There is a single cutout for the earpiece, and there are see-through windows for the other true-tone front camera elements. So far in less than hour of usage, Face-ID feels the same accuracy as without the glass. Time will tell, but so far so good on the Face-ID front.

Overall, I am thrilled with the size of the Orzly tempered glass, as it checks off my biggest requirement of having little to no gap between the screen protector and the Caudabe case.

So I’m keeping 2 cases. The apple brown leather and the Caudabe. I love the look and slim feel of the caudabe, I’m a bit concerned about the slim lip and how slippery it is. Hopefully their will be a better replacement for the caudabe. In the mean time while missing the lack of viewing the beautiful silver back, the brown leather case is very nice.

That looks much better than the maxboost I got for my wife. I was leaning against a screen protector for my phone but might have to try that out.

I just bought some of those full screen protectors after seeing those pics. I was always hesitant about the black border, but those look really nice. The partial screen ones I typically use collect dust around the edges, which annoys me.

Beautiful! How difficult was the Orzly screen protector to install?

It isn’t easy. They don’t really include much in the way of tools or sticker guides for getting the alignment right. I installed it in a humid bathroom to prevent dust and managed a near perfect installation on the first try.

For the alignment, I first laid down the edge just above the earpiece, then guided down the lower end of the glass as straight as I could.

I want this exact set-up but I think I'd have a heart attack putting the screen protector on. I have a tempered glass one with a cutout for the notch and a large gap all aournd the protector and the edge of the phone. Takes away from the whole experience.

how do you not have bubbles in your 3d orzly. I can't get bubbles out in corner. Is there something you do? Do you have to wait a day?

It’s the method I described above. First run a hot shower for a couple of mins to get the room steamy. Then clean the iPhone screen with the alcohol wipe, running it in one direction up or down the screen. Then use the microfiber and rub again in one direction up or down the screen. Next, use the dust sticker and remove any visible dust on the screen. Check carefully for anything.

Finally, lay the protector on. Start by resting the top edge down so that it fits the earpiece just right. Then hold the bottom corners with your index finger and thumb, and guide it down slowly. Let go and drop the bottom end when you have it lined up well.

In my 2nd photo above, you can see I had one bubble on the lower corner. Literally 15 minutes later, when I took the 5th photo, the bubble had disappeared on its own.

interesting, it is not the dust that is an issue for me, its just 4 corners will not go down. Ive read reviews to just leave it for a couple days and supposedly they resolve but it just seems these protectors don't fit phone right.

I have the lucid clear case and i can definitely say that it is wayyyy to slippery for more liking. This isn’t a case i intend on keeping for long, just waiting for something better to come out.

I ordered the Daswise edge to edge tempered glass. I’ve always had good experiences with Daswise so I’m giving them my business again. For $10, you can’t beat the price. I’ll let you know how the install goes once I get my hands on my X. Patiently waiting.

Please let us know if you end up seeing dust in the notch area. I installed a Manto that looks identical to yours and had a perfect install. Noticed dust above the speaker and in the far right circle lense the next day. Doesn't look like there is any adhesive above those two areas so dust gets sucked in there. Great protector otherwise.

I bought the lucid clear a month ago in preperation, i knew this was going to be the EXACT case I was looking for, and it delivered. Light but strong, super clear, resists fingerprints, feels great in hand and adds a premium feel, light branding, i could go on and on. I knew this was going to be the best case, did a lot of research before i picked it.

@Darthsat is there any noticeable clarity loss from the glass protector? It looks kind of frosted.

No loss in clarity that I can tell; the frost is just there in my pics. The protector is glossy and totally clear in person.

Also, one day in and not much in the way of dust has accumulated.

Dude, that looks phenomenal. I just got the Lucid Clear and it's the first time I've actually liked using a clear case. I'll have to look into this Orzly screen protector too. Do the holes in the glass actually line up with whatever sensors are behind? Dot projector, etc? Have you had any issues with Face ID or animojis?

Faceid has been fine with the screen protector so far.

There are 2 cons so far in 2 days of usage. One is that even with a tiny gap between the protector and the case, there is dust buildup on the top edge

The 2nd minor con is that around the edge, where the clear glass meets the black edge, the black edge looks raised over the image. This might be an illusion caused by a slight misalignment, but creates the effect that the actual phone display is recessed more than it is.
