i really need to figure out a tempered glass screen protector. i like the expensive ones because they offer a lifetime warranty but still are steep in price. ive seen peoples screen protectors that scratch either or the sides start to come up. some of the edges start to chip away over time and make the phone look horrible. someone help me out. these forums are great but to get multiple opinions requires me to read for hours lol

There doesn't seem to be much photos of the front lip atleast HD ones. Btw is there an ETA on the revised Lucid clear case with a higher lip?

I noticed some people are saying he lucid clear scratches the bezels.

How is this happening and is the case hard to take off?

Unfortunately I have some scratches already on the band from taking the case on and off to clean.

Also, another misfortune, I dropped my phone and cracked the case. Thank goodness it was only the case. I have already emailed caudabe for a warranty replacement.

It’s simple. People don’t realize yet how easily stainless steel scratches. They also don’t realize yet how easy it is to polish out scratches. Google stainless steel polishing. This isn’t like the aluminum iPhones of yesteryear where scratches are there forever.

The case is really easy to remove. I remember back in the day getting some other full coverage clear cases (I think Power Support) and you basically had to tear off the case to get it off. Lucid Clear slides on and off if you use the two slits on the bottom corners.

Looking on the bright side - that’s not a misfortune, its the case doing its job

How did the phone hold up? Do you think the case offers sufficient protection?
The phone was thankfully ok. It was a small drop on tiled floor. I expected worse but at least it was only the case that received a crack.

That's good to hear. I'm still amazed that something so thin and light has any degree of protection. Did your phone land on a corner, back or front?

It's great that Caudabe are sending you out a replacement too!

It landed face down. I was holding my breath when I picked it up.

For those wanting to know about drop protection, my cat flung mine off my kitchen counter onto hardwood floor and nothing broke. It actually kinda bounced around when it landed. As far as the orzly screen protector the bubbles in the corners will go away in time however dust will build up above the ear piece as mine has already done.

Why are some people getting scratches on the bezels and some don't?

possible variation in build quality? Mine does feel a bit 'sharp' along the front rim and being polycarbonate I could imagine there could be some molding defects occasinally causing rough spots which might scratch?

Does the phone rock when set down face up with the Lucid Clear on? In other words is the case flush with the camera? If it's not how bad is the difference in size?

Does not rock but the case is not flush with the camera, it sticks out a tiny bit. Don't notice it when putting it down though

I’ve dropped my phone twice and this case has kept it safe. I had an Orzly screen protector and that shattered but my phone is fine.

Same here, I dropped mine not once but twice in one f$&*# day. The phone and Lucid Clear are both fine. For whatever reason, my overpriced Apple store Belkin screen protector cracked on a corner. Oh well, can’t win them all. Impressed that the case has kept the phone pretty safe.

No scratches on my phone. As people have already said, stainless steel scratches easy and buffs out easy. Not worried about that. Went through the same thing with an old Tag Heuer watch.

..... and the plastic on the power button just broke. I’ll be contacting caudabe for a refund. Not even a week in and no drops or anything out of the ordinary.

If its polycarbonate then any buttons that are effectively hinged, I’d expect to get weak/break eventually - just the nature of the material. Not sure how you’d get around that. Your example is way too soon, obviously.

Received my orzly screen protector so might try that with the Lucid Clear this weekend - the lack of lip has stopped me using it at the moment.

Hold on... I just tried my lucid clear again. My case doesn’t have any buttons - just cutouts so you can access the phones own buttons.

Do some people have button covers on their cases??

I was wondering about this too. The buttons are open.

How does this compare to the ESR?
There's really no comparison. This one makes the ESR seem cheap. I have both.
