Chinao folio case (open bezel, auto sleep/wake)

I have the Yoobao folio case as well. The leather of The Wheat case is a lot "firmer" and definitely provides more protection. The corners are also more sturdy than the Yoobao. However, it still has the very thin profile which is essential for me. I love the slim design of the iPad 2 and did not want to detract from that by adding bulk.

Hhmmmm........ I did not notice an option for a dark wheat color. Mine is "Item #: CPLIP2-WHEAT". I only saw a color choice in the Chinao Vaja clone (leather), which is a different style.

Hmm, well the item number is very helpful because it took me to the same item I saw before only the description in the URL is different now. Quite confusing but whatever, at least I know which is the right case lol
 
Just got my Chinao leather wheat case today, and I'm totally impressed with this case. The leather is very high quality, and looks, feels, and smells wonderful. The leather is thicker than a lot of leather cases, but the case is still very slim with the iPad in it. The iPad fits tightly and perfectly, and the inside is very soft and nice. The cover also doesn't move around as you carry it, which activates the sleep/wake (which really annoys me). I actually like and now prefer the small border that's around the screen, as it makes it easier to hold the iPad and gives it more grip. This case is very bit as nice as much higher-priced cases.

I totally agree about those corners. Because the frame around the bezel is in a lighter weight material than the leather, it is able to hold the Ipad very securely, not only making it more comfortable to hold, but also provides excellent protection. I leave on my vacation on Monday, will be travelling through many busy Airports, so I am very happy with this added security.

The case is actually much higher priced than what we paid for it- it's on sale now; I am note sure when this sale price ends though. I know another poster did mention it, but I just cannot remember the date.

What's interesting is that when we first had the price discussion, the site listed the original price as $89.95 and now it's $59.95 with the sale price being $46.95. And based on the posts in the now-deleted thread, the sale is supposed to end on 7/30.

I ordered mine last night and it was a straight $46.95 + shipping, no sale price

What I mean is, $46.95 is the sale price. If you take a look at the product page, $59.95 is crossed out and in red, $46.95 is listed as the sale price so you did get the case at a discount.

Oh as far as I know that's the regular price. I never pay attention to anything but the total price, Just like AYL has the Yoobao ver 2 case on sale from $89.95 to $34.50 plus shipping stating you save 62% where have you ever seen a Yoobao case sell for $90? You can buy the ver 3 all day for $35 it's just like saying free shipping when it's not free just included in the price. It's the total out the door price that's important to me.

I think that when the sale ends, the price will go back to $89.00 for the Chinao case. That was the price I was complaining about the other day,:p before the sale resumed.
 
Oh, I forgot to mention! This afternoon, I was running around, getting last minute stuff for my trip. I did not leave my iPad in the car because of the heat, and wouldn't ya know it.....dropped it on the concrete floor of a store!:eek: I swear, there was a collective *Gasp* of at least 6 people in line with me....it landed with a thud on the bottom corner, then smacked face down. I am sooooooo happy to say, NOT one teensy li'l scratch/ding/crack!:D My Chinao case behaved perfectly.:) If the iPad was in my other case, with the clip-on open bezel, it would, I am sure, have gone bouncing out and about.:eek::eek:

Wow lucky you, sounds like I made a good choice. Thanks again you were very influential in my decision, from the background of your photos looks like you have great taste and love nice things that helped as well.

Oh I just know you're gonna love it! While I was busy packing today for my vacation, some friends came over , they were "helping" me pack (not!) I got so many compliments on the case. It's just such an elegant design and color, besides being well constructed.
For travelling, the added security is something i really need....I always seem like a target for every clumsy tourist, swinging their carry-ons blindy around.:eek:

I am SO glad you love the case! Traipsing from terminal to terminal, endless waiting, missed connection from frankfurt to Madrid:mad:..... The iPad was out constantly, and wouldn't ya know it, had all these LARGE tourists practically flattening me in their rush to various gates:eek: Sheesh, I'm thinking I need some kind of protecting case/armor for myself!

I arrived in Marbella tonight to meet my Sister, who will probably try and steal my Chinao case while I'm conked out. She also just loves it.:D

Isn't it fabulous how it just "fits" so well......nice and snug, no wiggling, etc? I had it in the upright position on the plane tray table, and it remained quite steady. Just LOVED havin' the iPad on such a long haul.:D:D
 
If you guys have more pics of the case, post 'em up. Aside from all the positive reviews, clearly I need more incentive to spend money on accessories I don't really need :p
